RE: Links on pages that are not cached or indexed by google
If a page has not been crawled, any links on that page can not count towards link juice or rankings. However, if a page has not been indexed or cached, that does not mean it hasn't been crawled.

Does having many 302 redirects on a site hurt rankings?
I am working with an affiliate website which has many product listings but the "Buy Now" button on each product listing is an external link (affiliate link) to the appropriate product page on the actual website where the product can be bought. Each of these external links passes through an internal redirect, which is implemented as a 302.
Consequently, when SEOmoz crawls that site, it gives me a warning that there are hundreds of 302 redirects on the site. Do you think this will hurt the site's potential to rank? Should I remove the redirects and leave them as direct links to the external site?

RE: Will Google display the "@" Symbol in a SERP Title?
Yes, Google will display the @ symbol in your title. I am fairly confident that I have seen titles with @ in the search results. I have not been able to find an official source to back up this information though.
You should just do a quick experiment - make a test page on which you use the symbol in the title, get the page indexed and then search google for "site:test page url" and see how it shows up.

RE: Optimization of keywords in singular and plural
Hi,
1. It would make the most sense to optimize for the singular and plural forms of a keyword on the same page. For example, if you're targeting the phrases, "green car" and "green cars," you should optimize a single landing page for both terms. Although Google shows different results for plurals, it is still aware that they're variations of the same word. I would not recommend creating separate landing pages for singular/plural of the same word.
2. This is a strategy that most likely will not help you. If your search results pages show excerpts of the content of each page being shown in the results, all the content on those pages will be duplicate content. You don't want to cannibalize the SEO you've done on the actual pages of your site by having Google crawl excerpts of that content as well. Though, there may be a way to pull this off to your benefit if you somehow show unique content on those search results pages. But unless they're long-tails, you're not likely to rank those search result pages above website that are actually optimized for the same keywords.

RE: What is the average response time for Reconsideration request
I recently filed a reconsideration request and got a response within a week. It was a standard form letter and appeared only in WMT (not in an email to me). In that particular case my reconsideration request was not approved. After I filed another request a few days later, it took about 3 weeks to receive the next response.

RE: If a link is located behind a log-in will it pass any value?
If a search engine spider does not have access to that page (because it's behind a login), it will never see the link and therefore there will be no value passed through.

With Google's recent implementation of Places Search, it is now more important than ever for local businesses to have high-quality, complete Google Places listings. One of the ranking (and conversion) factors for business listings is user generated content in the form of reviews and citations. Not very long ago, Google ...

PDF documents are often neglected in on-site SEO efforts. I consider that a mistake, as there is actually a large amount of potential in optimizing PDFs. The documents often contain good, unique, high-quality content that can be useful for search visitors. We know that search engines have gotten pretty good at crawling and indexing PDFs, and I personally see them in search results often. So it'...
