Have question about usage of similar keywords on single vs multiple pages within the same site...
I am working on a campaign with someone and have been talking back and forth about some keyword usage thoughts. More precisely multiple keywords that are similar and how to use them on the page for best results in ranking without diluting our own work to rank well.
Example:
Keywords:
Vehicle Wraps
Vehicle Wraps Phoenix
Phoenix Vehicle Wraps
Car Wraps
Car Wraps Phoenix
Phoenix Car WrapsOne thought is that the keywords are so similar that it would best benefit us to target one page to the grouping of like keywords and long-tail keywords, and not making separate pages as to create competition for the same keyword within the site itself. Also that Google is "smart" enough to see that car wraps and vehicle wraps are like keywords, and that car wraps when linked to a site from Phoenix, will also pull as Car Wraps Phoenix.
The other thought is we target one page for each separate keyword although the keywords are so similar.
What are your thoughts? I wanted to ask all of your thoughts as I am sure your feedback will be enlightening. (Always helpful!!)
Thank you!

RE: Pagerank and sitemap question :)
Well I have done the comparison and besides some social metrics we out rank them in many of these factors. According to the http://www.opensiteexplorer.org/ we are "green" on a lot more items then they are.
The main reason I was focusing on the sitemaps is because when we look at their "indexed pages" in a tool like SEO powersuite it shows they have a ton more pages indexed then they actually have on their site. So I was wondering how they had so many pages indexed vs how many actually exist.
Here is a screen shot from some different analysis. For our site the too long titles are still less than 70 char, and the missing meta or titles, or duplicates are due to pagination, such as blog listing page 2, 3 etc.

Pagerank and sitemap question :)
As most of us are, I am working on pushing my page rank up and in that I have been looking at some of the pages ahead of me to see what they may be doing.
I noticed one of my main competitors has some different sitemaps than I am using.
My sitemaps consist of:
Using Yoast WP PLugin:
Posts
Pages
QA/FAQs
Testimonials
Categories
and FAQ CategoriesUsing Google Images Sitemap WP Plugin:
Images Sitemaphttp://1stimpressions.com/sitemap_index.xml
Their sitemap has:
Posts
Pages
Attachment
Portfolio (Next Gen Gallery)
Category
Post Tags
Next Gen Gallery (NGG) Tags
Portfolio Type Sitemap
Author Sitemaphttp://smartwrap.com/sitemap_index.xml
Could adding in some of these sitemaps help in page rank?
I have looked at their links and on page optimization and we are just about par in comparison if not ahead of them, but they still are a whole page ahead of us in google searches for phoenix vehicle wraps, or car wraps phoenix and related searches.
Thanks for your input, I really appreciate it.
Cheers!

RE: Robots.txt and Multiple Sitemaps
Awesome! yea I submitted them to bing and google by hand, I just figured it couldn't hurt to have it in my robots too.
Appreciate the feedback

Robots.txt and Multiple Sitemaps
Hello,
I have a hopefully simple question but I wanted to ask to get a "second opinion" on what to do in this situation. I am working on a clients robots.txt and we have multiple sitemaps. Using yoast I have my sitemap_index.xml and I also have a sitemap-image.xml I do put them in google and bing by hand but wanted to have it added into the robots.txt for insurance. So my question is, when having multiple sitemaps called out on a robots.txt file does it matter if one is before the other? From my reading it looks like you can have multiple sitemaps called out, but I wasn't sure the best practice when writing it up in the file.
Example:
User-agent: * Disallow: Disallow: /cgi-bin/ Disallow: /wp-admin/ Disallow: /wp-content/plugins/ Sitemap: http://sitename.com/sitemap_index.xml Sitemap: http://sitename.com/sitemap-image.xml Thanks a ton for the feedback, I really appreciate it! :) J

Company Facebook and Personal Facebook with company name.
I am helping a company get their social profiles and networking in order, and just realized that they have a facebook page that is their
"company page" - https://www.facebook.com/Capitol.Collision.Repair.Phoenix
and one that is a person called their company: https://www.facebook.com/capitol.collisonis their any benefit to having both of them still active or should I just get rid of the "personal profile" and keep the company page?
any advice would be really helpful!
Thank you,
J

RE: Trying to link a Legacy Youtube account to a Google+ Page, the option isn't available...
Awesome! this actually worked for one of my accounts. Unfortunately one of my accounts wont let me do this, or unlink them so I can do this. From what I am reading it has to do when and how the Youtube or Google+ profile was created. This was very helpful. I am going to keep playing with my owners/managers, and logging in with different users, and info to see if I can eventually get this to work properly.
I am debating deleting the unwanted Google+ profile, and seeing if it will then allow me to attach a different google+ profile to the youtube channel. I am afraid that deleting the unwanted Google+ Profile will also delete the attached (wanted) youtube channel.

Trying to link a Legacy Youtube account to a Google+ Page, the option isn't available...
Hello,
I am working on one of my clients projects and would love some advice before making some changes to their Google+ and Youtube account. We created the youtube account before Google+ and Youtube combined so we have a seperate name for the Youtube and Google+ Profile. They were created using separate emails, but both emails are managers of each others "account." We can't combine the two as it won't give me the option, only the option to create a new Youtube channel based on the Google+ Profile. But I already have videos loaded up on the Older Channel that I would like to keep and use for my current Google+ Profile. I have tried to disconnect the Youtube channel to hopefully get the option to link the two, but it just says it is a unavailable option. So my question is:
What advice do you guys have with any of this type of Youtube and Google+ mismatch profile/channels? I am not finding much online besides links to unattaching accounts but that is giving me a message saying that it isn't possible.Or would creating a new channel linked to the Google+ page and just reuploading the videos/transcripts be my best bet?
Thank you for your feedback, and if you want anymore details (I know this description when not looking at the accounts might not be enough info, feel free to ask.) I really appreciate it.
J
