Hi I was just looking at a competitors new site in OSE and it had a DA and PA of 1 which I would expect and also no links, which again I would expect, basically the guy used to design stuff for me and thinks he can do a better job so he is giving it ago. But he has a spam score of 9/17 but no links - how is this even possible. Thanks Andy

Hi Mozzers I am geting this very annoying message keeps popping up "Confirm Oops! Something went wrong while trying to get your API Credentials. Please try again or check out the Help Hub if you are still experiencing issues" Issue is I cant even read it on my screen as it gets cut off and there is no scroll so had to copy and past into word to be able to read it. I had the issue for the last sever hours, is this my account or more general. Thanks Andy

I know its early days and even the wonderful Dr Pete said it will take a few days to notice anything, but has anyone seen anything. I've not seen any rise in traffic yet, but none of my ranking tracking tools have ran yet. Anyone seen anything, are you expecting to see any?

I am getting error messages from OSE - it just keeps saying 'loading data' and then after a while 'there was a problem getting your data'. Any ideas what wrong, I really need this for a meeting this afternoon in 1.5 hours. Thanks Andy

Hi I am fully aware of how to do facebook paid advertising but I follow a page called: https://www.facebook.com/GiveMeSport/ They know that I am a Liverpool fan (might a filled out a survey once or some other way, but they know I support the greatest football team on the planet) however they only ever show me Liverpool articles in my feed and they are organic. They post a lot more but i never see any of it. Does anyone know how they are able to do this as I would love to segment people on my site and target them accordingly. Thanks in Advance Andy

Hi So Ive done a crawl of the site using screaming frog. There are a few old category and sub category pages which don't exist any more but somehow the crawler is finding them. An example is below: http://www.ebuyer.com/store/Home-Appliances/cat/Health-&-Beauty/subcat/Male-Grooming Just wondering if anybody had any ideas about how I could go and find these urls and remove them off the site. Any ideas would be really appreciated. Thanks Andy

Hi I think it was at BrightonSEO where PI DataMetrics were talking about similar pages on a website can cause rankings to drop for your main page. This has got me thinking. if we have a category about jumpers so: example.com/jumpers but then our blog has a category about jumpers, where we write all about jumpers etc which creates a category page example.com/blog/category/jumpers, so these blog category pages have no index put on them to stop them ranking in Google? Hi This is to spark a debate, rather than an answer which has a specific answer. While Google may claim that being on the certified programme doesn't increase your ranking, but part of their algorithm looks into whether a website is trustworthy. To get accepted onto the certified shops you have to prove your a trust worthy reliable business that constantly gets audited. So surely this must be directly / indirectly be a ranking factor? Just thought I would throw it out there for a debate.

Hi I have a site www.example.com and finally have got the developers to add Google webmaster verification codes for: example.com m.example.com As I was advised this is best practice - however I was wondering does this mean I now need to add the disavow file. Thanks Andy

Hi We have a robots.txt file, but do I need to create a separate file for the m.site or can I just add the line into my normal robots file. Ive just read the Google Guidelines (what a great read it was) and couldn't find my answer. Thanks in Advance Andy

Hi We all know that the mobile update is coming on the 21st April and if your site isnt mobile friendly in Googles eye you will be removed from the mobile index. Will this affect tablets. Most of our pages are mobile friendly but there are a few which arent. However these are tablet friendly. I havent heard Google mention about tablet rankings. Thanks Andy

Hi I am trying to crawl my site and it keeps crashing. My sys admins keeps upgrading the virtual box it sits on and it now currently has 8GB of memory, but still crashes. It gets to around 200k pages crawl and dies. Any tips on how I can crawl my whole site, can u use screaming frog to crawl part of a site. Thanks in advance for any tips. Andy

Hi I don't know if the below can be done, and I can't seem to find an answer anywhere. Ideally I want to capture the event of registering for an account. Ultimately I want to know which products, pages etc drive customer registrations but which do not lead to a purchase (Registered Not Bought). Does anyone know if this is possible? Thanks Andy

John Mueller from Google has just confirmed: Google has just confirmed that mobile friendliness is now a ranking factor for people on smartphones. The date it goes live is 24th April 2015. There is a great presentation on the hangout - which will be available later to watch and once its available I will update with a link - but I would make sure your checking webmaster tools for any alerts / messages if you care about smartphone users. What do people recommend, regarding responsive vs mobile site vs dynamic serving. Is your site ready? What are you planning on doing since the update has been announced.

Hi Moz Can we please have a new feature to moz when answering questions please, the ability to save as a draft. I am currently on the train from London back home and I was trying to answer a few questions and give my opinion and after writing a really long and detailed response to an area I actually have quite a lot to say on, my internet froze and the page refreshed losing all the content. It doesn’t help that my Mac I am working on isn’t the fastest, but my new one isn’t quite ready yet. But if there was a simple save draft feature, it would be really great as I wasn’t ready to post my answer as it wasn’t finished and without checking wouldn’t have made sense. Yes I know I could of done it in word and pasted it across, but usually when I am travelling and answering questions I do it on my Ipad which isn’t great for multitasking. While I understand you don’t want lots of ‘draft answers’ all over the place as this would take storage space up on your servers and doesn’t actually help the person answering the question, your system could purge all draft answers which have not been edited in the last 24 hours. Just a little suggestion to help make this great forum even better. Thanks Andy

Hi I know this isn't technically an SEO question, but wanted people's advice. As I am flying half way round the world I am actually arriving on the Friday and have Friday evening, Saturday and Sunday to go and explore Seattle. I plan on going to watch a baseball game and visit the home of Starbucks (and I hate coffee, but thought might as well visit), but what else would people recommend doing / seeing in Seattle. What is the best way to deal with these: http://www.goldenclicking.com/ and www.payclicking.com They keep sending my site traffic, however I am not paying for it, and would prefer to stop these sites. The traffic never converts, and I can't see anywhere that I am paying for the traffic (they are not an affiliate, and can't see them on the GDN) - so I don't even know whats in it for them. Has anyone ever dealt with these types of sites previously, tips on getting them to stop. I was just considering black listing there domains so they can't even reach our site. Thanks in Advance. Hi I have a strange query, Bing in the last four weeks have been seriously crawling our site, and while at the moment this isn't affecting our servers, coming into the busy time of the year I am just wondering if anyone else is seeing this. They are basically crawling the entire site (including nofollow  pages) even though according to Bing Webmaster tools, they know our sitemap. Is anybody else seeing any unusual activity with the Bing bot. Thanks Andy

Hi We have a retail site and a blog that goes along with the site. The blog is very popular and the MD wanted a link from the blog back to the main retail site. However as this is a site wide link on the blog, am I right in thinking this really should be  no follow link. The link is at the top of every page. Thanks in advance for any help

Hi I can't find an upto date answer to this so was wondering what people's thoughts are. Does putting content behind 'view more' css buttons affect how Google see's and ranks the data. The content isn't put behind 'view more' to trick Google. In actual fact if you see the source of the data its all together, but its so that products appear higher up the page. Hi I set up several alerts on the Fresh web explorer - however I haven't received emails and these we're set up over a month ago. I am trying to add a post to Youmoz and while it lets me save it as a draft, as soon as I go to publish, the page refreshes and I lose the entire post. Is anybody else having an issues with posting to YouMoz.

Hi all just wondering if anyone has ever had any experience / tips / advice. moving from domain name a to b is well published all over the web and the practice is often discussed on here. but my question is has anyone ever done moving the domain from a to b and then after x time move back to domain a. i can't find any examples, notes anywhere on Google. thanks in advance

Hi I am in the process of launching a new version of my site and I know I need to get my current SEO Agency to check and test certain aspects of the site so that I don't lose any rankings. The problem is I am unsure of everything to ask them and I was wondering if someone could help me out. Hi On our blog, we have a section called 'Tags'. I have just noticed that these links are all "no follow" links. The tags section does appear on every single page on the blog - is this recommend to have them as 'no follow' links or should I get our developer to change them. Thanks

I have a database of around 10,000 business I want to list on my directory. My problem has been that my people have been adding to the database for over a year, but due to my hosting limitations adding them, caused my site to crash. I have now got this sorted, would going from 1,000 urls listed to over 11,000 may Google think I am trying to spam them. Would it be worth while dripping them in over time, or just adding them all at once. Any advice appreciated, Thanks

Hi I was wondering if someone can give me a bit of advice - outside of my full time job I run three websites - all in the same area, but all do three different things 1. Directory (DA19) 2. Blog (DA 23) 3. Products (DA35) I want to merger all three website into one and all be on one website (rather do it now than keep working on three websites). I have included the DAs of each site (  I know they are not amazing, but i've only recently started working on two of them), but I want to place all three websites under the Blog url. Regarding 301's of the pages, would I be better doing at the top level and 301 all the pages to the home page, or spending the time and 301 the old product page for instance to the new product page - this is a much bigger project, but what are the potential gains. Is there anything else I should consider when switching the sites - all three are wordpress sites (I know it has its limitations but they are easy to create). Thanks in Advance Andy
