Hi Moz members
I'd really like to place an internal link of every instance of an important keyword phrase "cycling caps" or "cycling cap" to my eComm category page
https://www.prendas.co.uk/collections/headwear/cotton-caps
I feel this would not only help my customers browsing my store, but I believe it will help from an SEO perspective.
How can I search my site using Moz, Screaming Frog, Google etc to find every time cycling cap(s) is used but is not linked to the above URL?
I can then apply the same for cycling jerseys, socks, etc
Andy
Thanks - I'll go ahead and do that.
Hi Moz'ers
I have recently taken over the company I work for (www.prendas.co.uk) and want to migrate approx 200 pages from my hobby site to my company's eCommernce website on Shopify Plus. The content (text/photos) are highly relevant to the company, is unique & written by me and will hopefully generate some sales.
I have a plan to gradually move them all over (I intend on doing 2-5/day) into a specific blog section to house them all. I'll then create an Apache perm. redirect to the old site too.
Source: cycling-jersey-collection.com D/A 21
Destination: prendas.co.uk D/A 35
The plan is to eventually shut the old site down.
Does anybody have any best practice/and/or recommendations?
Thanks in advance.
Andy
Yes, getting the meta data to be perfect is my goal.
Not interestingly only about half the competitors sites have done it anywhere near approaching well.
Perhaps correct implementation of schema.org is given more priority in some sectors rather than others?
Andy
Dear Moz Community.
I'm looking at moving from in-line Microdata in the HTML to JSON-LD on the web pages that I manage. Seems a far simpler solution having all the meta data in one place - especially for trouble shooting!
With this in mind I've started to change the page templates on my personal site before I tackle the ones for my eCommerce site. I've made a start, and I'm still working on the templates producing some default values (like if a page doesn't have an associated image) but have been wondering if any of you have any rules/recommendations for using BlogPosting vs Article?
I'd call this type of page an Article:
https://cycling-jersey-collection.com/browse-collection/selle-italia-chinol-seb-bennotto-1982-team-jersey
Whereas this page is from the /blog so that should probably be a BlogPosting:
https://cycling-jersey-collection.com/blog/2017-worldtour-team-jerseys
I've used the following resources but it would be great to get a discussion on here.
https://yoast.com/structured-data-schema-ultimate-guide/
https://developers.google.com/search/docs/data-types/data-type-selector
https://search.google.com/structured-data/testing-tool/u/0/
I'm keen to get this 100% right as once this is done I'm going to drive through some further changes to get some progress on things like this:

yes, there is a sagepay payment gateway, plus one for paypal too.
i'm going to take a look at it this week.
The back-end pages look far more simple than the Magento equivelents, but I imagine there is more expertise out there for Magento, but I'm worried it's gonna cost us alot to develop.
Dear MOZ community members
We currently run a custom built IIS/ASP/SQL Server system that is starting to fall apart and needs major overhaul. I'm currently evaluating a number of open source eCommerce platforms (Magneto, OpenCart) and would welcome any advice that some of you may have.
We are not a major brand, but we have a good name in our field which we wish to maintain and we ranking very well for our top phrases despite not having SEO-friendly URLs amongst other things.
I've downloaded Magneto and installed it on a LAMP could server and got it up and running. It looks very flexible, albeit a little bloated and I can concerned that it's a sledgehammer to crack a nut. Do any other small businesses have experience with Magneto?
Thanks for your time!
andy
I do not know the answer, but would like to know too!
Thanks for your helpful pointers Julian.
I'm not a marketing man, and sitting back and looking at the domain, you are right in terms of the name - it's not exactly snappy. I did consider "Jersey Vault" or something along those lines but assumed having some keywords in the domain name would be more useful than a "brand" from an SEO point of view.
Most of my visitors come from google/bing having searched for something rather specific, so I am assuming they will not really care that much about the brand - assuming the website is displaying some nice photos of the jersey that they are interested in?
But trying to build a following/community - the brand will of course be more important. That's something I have to work on once I have got more content onto the website.
