I have lived and worked in the Houston area my entire life. Starting at 16, working in the camera and pre-press department in the offset press and printing industry. Years later I moved to sheet-fed printing field and then on to web design and web development. I started building websites for a family retail catalog site in 1994. Even then, four years before Google was anything, you could see how important SEO was. We did not really know what it was, but we knew it was vital. I have worked to develop my skills, to improve and to continue to learn. Freelancing off and on between other jobs it was necessary to be able to do everything from beginning to end. Design, layout, PhotoShop, development, which has always been hand-written (if you don't know how to write it you have no idea how to fix it when it breaks), SEO and publishing.
In 2008, I started at PetroPages and started studying and learning SEO in earnest and I have really found an appreciation for the hard work it takes to be successful for our clients. It is a great feeling of accomplishment when you work to achieve that first-page, first-position on Google when there are hundreds of millions of competing results. Keeping up with the ever changing landscape of SEO is never ending.
