I have a question. If you are redirecting an affiliate link through a WordPress plugin that tells the bots not to follow on the server side, do you still need to use a nofollow tag for the on page html coding of the a href link?

RE: Backlink "class=X-hidden-focus"
Sadly I don't know the answer to your question. I am very curious to see if anyone does have a concrete answer.
I googled around a bit trying to learn but couldn't find any real solid information.
My intuition is that they are not treated as no follow but are actually not considered links at all. Just a guess based on their name, no experience with them whatsoever. Or something a black hat does to hide links? That would be even more obvious though... Interesting!

I've been involved with affiliate marketing for online casinos since 2001. My latest creation and full time focus now is GambleRock. With it, I'm developing a social networking app and mobile website for the online gambling industry. I hope to learn some new things here on MOZ and will likely be able to share a few insights as well from my 19 years and counting in the business.
Looks like your connection to Moz was lost, please wait while we try to reconnect.
