3 Main Local Ranking Factors
In the Moz article titled Should You Pay for Local Listings Management? by Miriam Ellis, she makes this statement:
"Prominence, proximity, and distance are the three types of factors Google tells us it takes into account when ranking local businesses. "
I always thought that classic on- and off-page SEO was one of those three factors. What puzzles me about Miriam's statement is this: What's the difference between distance and proximity?
Aren't they the same thing?

RE: Outbound 404 Links
I've bought and am using Screaming Frog successfully. Thanks for the direction, Eli.

Outbound 404 Links
My blog goes back to 2005 and occasionally I find outbound links on old posts that now generate a 404 error.
Is there a Moz tool that can find and report on such errors? If not, are there other tools you can recommend?

Why would DA and Home Page PA divurge
I track home page Page Authority and Domain Authority. Normally they move in a similar fashion. However for at least one client I see them moving in markedly opposite directions. One client has seen their Home page PA increase from 29 to 33 ov er the past year or so while their DA is dropped from 22 to 16.
Potentially related are odd trends in home page inbound link counts and linking domains. Moz reported 241 inbound link to the home page last December, and 324 now. For the months April through July, however, Moz reported link counts between 1150 and 1350. Linking domains improved from 120 last December to 324 now.
I of course recognize that raw counts of links and linking domains need to be tempered with quality considerations. But still, I'm finding is puzzling and wondering if anyone has any thoughts about why the Page Authority and Domain Authority would be diverging..

RE: MozBar Login Change Update + Firefox Temporarily Disabled
"A note to Firefox users
With this change, we will temporarily disable the Firefox version of the MozBar. You may have noticed that the Firefox and Chrome versions of the MozBar are not the same. This is due to Mozilla’s review process, and us being unable to get new versions approved despite multiple attempts.Good news on the horizon! Firefox will start accepting Chrome-based extensions with the release of Firefox v48, which means soon there will be one version of the MozBar. When v48 is released, we will re-enable the MozBar in Firefox. In the meantime you can use the free Google Chrome version."
Two and a half years later, this still appears to have not been fixed. Am I wrong? If not, have you abandoned Firefox permanently?

RE: Hald the keywords in my keyword list say "Gethering Metrics". How do I get that to complete?
Thanks, Kristina — I went in and manually re-did the ones that were Gathering Metrics. No worries, it seems things are working all right now.

Hald the keywords in my keyword list say "Gethering Metrics". How do I get that to complete?
I'vwe waited about three hours, with no change. Why does this happen — is it something I did? Will those metrics ever be gathered? Or do I need to re-do buildingthe list all over again? And how can I be sure it will be any dirfferent?

RE: Standard Syntax in robots.txt doesn't prevent Moz bot from crawling
Thanks, Tawny,
If you look at Duplicate titles, check the first one (https://needquest.com/place_tag/autism-spectrum-disorder/). All the URLs with a duplicate title have /page/ in them. I will suggest they move the Allow statement and see if that helps.

RE: MozBar Login Change Update + Firefox Temporarily Disabled
Please do what you can about this. Many of us are waiting somewhat impatiently. Because all of my SEO plugins are on Firefox, I need to open a separate Chrome browser just to use the MozBar. I really need it back on Firefox./

Looks like your connection to Moz was lost, please wait while we try to reconnect.
