I'm getting ready to start a massive link building campaign. I plan on using a variety of anchor texts, getting links from a variety of sources, and only getting high quality links from relevant sites.
My main concern is getting penalized for gaining too many links too quickly. Does anyone have any advice on how fast is too fast? Or how much is too much in a certain amount of time?
Thanks!
I just did a comparison and realized that you are right, there is a slight difference. Italy is capitalized in one version since it is linked that way on one page. I had no idea that would make such a difference! The link has been fixed, thank you for your help!
Hi Kieran,
The site is not a Wordpress blog, it is a basic aspx site. It is just happening for the Italy pages that start here: http://www.ciee.org/ifds/seminars/italy/index.aspx None of the other destinations are having this problem in Tools.
In the SEOmoz tools I am getting multiple errors for duplicate page content and duplicate page titles for one section on my site. When I check to see which page has the duplicate title/content the url listed is exactly the same. All sections are set up the same, so any ideas on why I would be getting duplication errors in just this one section and why they would say the errors are on the same page (when I only have one copy uploaded on the server)?
I am working on developing goals for 2012. I will be doing several SEO projects, including one on a website for study abroad programs. Currently, nonbranded organic search is 15.49% of our visits and in 2010, it was 15.02%. I am wondering if anyone has any advice or knows of a benchmark percentage that could help me set an attainable goal. Thank you!!
I realize there are greater problems here, but I'm only talking about ciee.org/study. These are all study abroad programs. For example, changing http://www.ciee.org/study/programOverview.aspx?pID=100#1rightForYou to ciee.org/study-abroad/france/rennes/liberal-arts. The question is if we have to use study/abroad instead of study-abroad for a period of time, will there be a negative effect?
We are in the process of changing our URLs from dynamic to more SEO friendly. The website is ciee.org and I'm specifically talking about ciee.org/study. While we work with the business to get approval for ciee.org/study-abroad, we are going with ciee.org/study/abroad.
Can anyone foresee any difficulties or negative implications that could come if we change from study/abroad to study-abroad all within 6 months?
Thank you in advance!!
I have several keywords ranking top 5 for Google and Yahoo but nothing from Bing. Any ideas?
I'm trying to find the best tool to check for broken links on our site. We have over 11k pages and I'm looking for something fast and thorough! I've tried Xenu and LinkChecker. Any other ideas?
ciee.org. ciee.org/teach was affected the worst, but also was .org/study, /highschool, etc.
I saw an intense drop in non-branded organic search for major pages on my site on April 1st this year. The homepage wasn't affected and it's not an annual thing. I've attached a screen shot showing the drop.
I'm new to the company and recently learned that they had hired a pretty black hat company last year and I'm worried that this is Panda...although the timing seems wrong. Has anyone experienced panda effects between the two updates?
I'd love to get some feedback!!
