RE: How do i know if my links are being classed as spammy?
Verify your website in https://www.google.com/webmasters/ (google webmaster tool).
If you have spammy, unnatural links they'll send you a warning, but they won't tell which ones are bad.

No personal experience with outsourcing content creation, tho you might just take a look at: http://www.ghostbloggers.net/ It gives you a good idea about the prices as wel.

RE: One large site or a few microsites?
I agree with Jonathan on this. Go for the long term strategy and build authority on just one domein instead of splitting everything up into small websites.

If you have new pages that are similar to the old content, then 301 redirect to those. If not catch up the linkjuice on the homepage.

Just sharing links on facebook will get your very little to no interaction. Incentivize people, ask them a question related to the article (addressing some kind of problem or something).

I find guest blogging more effective than just sharing on social media...
Your PA & DA are ok but the higher they are, the better

RE: What does Canonical mean?

RE: Why are good authority links to my site not showing?
My guess is that the linkindex from OSE still hasn't been updated, and therefore is not showing your new backlinks.

RE: Homepage ranking before optimized page
So weird because the page is fully in dutch, the only english words on there are Copyright and disclaimer if i'm not mistaken.
But might look into the language issue as well.
