Thank you all for the replies, Surprisingly the keywords in question are climbing back up in SERP's, Eventhough I still have no clear answer of what the cause could have been, I am happy to see the Search Visibility Score rise! Thanks

RE: Search Visibilty Score dropped by 50%!
Yes I have seen a drop in organic traffic as most of my top ranking keywords have gone from 1st, 2nd and third position to 30-40 and 50.And yes I have looked in the Google Search Console and there is nothing spammy.

Search Visibilty Score dropped by 50%!
Howdy MOZ community, I have been practicing all the "right" techniques on my website, The website in question was doing pretty well ranking among top 5 on SERP's for over 30 keywords, bounce rate of 65% which has been steady since last year, Since 2 weeks ago I have noticed a MAJOR DROP on more than 80% of my rankings, The website in question has also lost 50% in search visibility score, I have checked my Google webmaster tools and there are no alerts regarding bad links ETC, What could be the reason? I hope I can get this sorted out before my employees quit on me because we have lost business by 70%. Please help!

RE: If I am starting a new business, similar to my existing business...
Hi Christy thanks for your reply, I stand corrected on "SERPs".
They are both actually B2Cs, I looked at Sears website and they offer quite different services related in cleaning niche, they offer air duct cleaning, carpet cleaning, residential and commercial cleaning services as well as bunch of other services all from the same website. So I am just wondering would my current DA and the age of my domain be a benefit for my new venture? Or should I just start another website from scratch.
Thanks for your reply.

If I am starting a new business, similar to my existing business...
Howdy MOZ community, I hope you are enjoying the last days of summer as much as we are here in Toronto-Canada.I own an Air Duct Cleaning business, I have done the web design as well as SEO, My website is currently ranking for quite a few keywords (some of them on the top of the SERPS) special thanks to MOZ for their awesome tools and blog posts.I am starting a Mobile Car Detailing business, Despite the fact that my Duct Cleaning domain is 5 years old with a DA of 42 and PA of 40 (main page).Would it be better for me to just add pages to my existing website (despite the fact that both businesses are in a cleaning niche) or would it be better for me to start another website from scratch?
Would it be a bonus for me in terms of my current DA to add pages to my existing website.like for example:
www.mywebsite.ca/Mobile-Auto-Detailing
or would I get penalized for it?
I thank you all for answering my question.

The blog section of my website just got deleted, Would it get my website penalized if I posted the same content again?

RE: Open Site Explorer does not show my website backlinks
it is not just about links from social media that OSE fails to show, there is whole a lot of links from elsewhere, and it has got nothing to do with a "no follow" link from social media as you can get to select which back links you want to see in OSE

RE: Is it good practice to still pay for Best of the Web Directory (BOTW) and other similar one's you have to pay for?
"If you pay for a directory link only to gain position in the SERPs you will most probably not get any ROI"
Meaning if you are on the first page there won`t be ROI? I dont think so!
