I would like to learn about creating clickbank products that sell, building an opt in list, designing mini sites to bring in sales, what words to use in the copy, etc...
Any training on this anywhere? Complete courses or specialty training?
Pretty straightforward question. I want to start a forum for people to discuss a niche, but have little experience building a popular forum.
I can leave the H1 tag in, I just dont know where to put it. Its my header, and the website now is VERY ugly. Maybe I will just put the H1 in there above the image, and then use a negative margin. Is that allowed?
I have a static website that I would like to retheme. I have the mockup, and its spliced. The website holds nice rankings right now, and I want to keep them in place. The one thing that will change with this new design is the header will no longer be text, but instead an image. Is there a way to ensure googlebot still sees the H1 tag header exactly how it is now but use an image for the header instead?
I dont want any blackhat tricks that will get me banned. Just wondering if there is a simple way to have googlebot see the header as text (not ALT img txt) so the site does not appear to have changed at all. (It hasnt, I only am changing the graphics and colors of background, and header image for better branding.
In my personal experience Stefano, no one you hire is going to put the same effort into researching your niche as you would if you only had yourself to rely upon. I have hired people from Textbroker who attempt to keyword stuff, use a lot of fluff and filler/stop words, and generally make it as easy on themselves as possible to get the paycheck. Same goes for oDesk, Freelancer, and some other private companies I have hired.
Dont take this personally, this is only my opinion, but if you aren't interested enough to read about your niche in your spare time then you should find a new niche, OR visit forums and discussion groups for people who choose to spend their free time discussing what you want your website to cover.
Good luck, and if you are aiming for low cost content, dont expect the writers to do anything but repackage the top three websites content using a thesaurus, and spell checker if your lucky.
In addition, I am also curious if we should be selling the app or not. We invested some money into mobile app development, but our primary competitor makes their money from showing non-intrusive ads. Offers a free mobile app, and is more established. Would it be a bad move to charge for our app?
The website is still in development, so I cant share the URL right now its just a landing page. The pages all pulled from a large database, not one of those dynamically generated websites based on whatever people search for. So I think the title tags and headers would be important to focus on for the long tail.
As for the homepage - I am releasing a mobile app for the website. So I am hoping to generate brand recognition via people looking for mixed drink apps, beer apps, etc...
What would be nice is it there was a tool for measuring search volume on the major app stores, similar to the adwords tool. It would help me gauge if this app and website will self promote, or if it will require a lot of marketing.
With that in mind, should links to my homepage all just be my brand name (ex. DrinkThat), or should I target the highly searched terms related to my website like "mixed drinks". Because the website is so large, I am not quite sure if link building is needed as much as a solid website structure and proper title tags are.
My friend and I are launching a website used to track alcoholic beverages. It has over 115k pages, three tier site structure. I am curious about the keyword strategy for the homepage. I know I will get a lot of long tail search traffic for drink names and how to mix drinks. Do I need a Keyword Strategy for my homepage with so many internal pages? Its a new brand we created, not a keyword domain. We would like to rank for how to mix drinks, etc... However with the number of pages we already have a lot of internal link juice. Where should link building be focused?
I am doing that now, but I was looking for a more user friendly interface. Maybe I cant hire someone from freelancer or even maybe from here who is great with excel and make something nice for me that meets my needs.
I am looking for some software, or an excel spreadsheet, or some way to manage 50-100 domain names. Maybe something a reseller of domain names would use?
Something that keeps record of different whois information for different domain names, tracks IPs, nameservers, FTP logins, etc...
I think excel would be best for this if there was a way to have the expiration date pulled so I dont forget to renew a domain name by mistake, and so I can easily keep track of them all in one place.
I have seen a couple software programs out there for this, but none really meet all the needs I have. I also looked into some kinda database software with a nice GUI (MS Access, or FileMakerPro) but I dont know them software well.
Any Ideas?
Bump - Also seeking the same.
Any recommendations? I am looking for a company that can do it to a very high standard. Need a review plugin implemented as well, which works with the theme. Clean coding, correctly named divs and clean comments. Thanks guys
After the PR update the other day, some of my domain names gained PR (from 0 to 3 or 4) but the kw rank they held previously dropped off the map. Its clear the term pagerank is ill defined. Does anyone have any insight into this?
Is google still updating the algo on a daily basis or for the most part are you other mozzers seeing your rankings stick? I ask because the rank tracking software I use locally on my laptop shows me inaccurate rankings, as well as the SEOMOZ tool (which was just updates yesterday). I am not sure why this is happening, but as of yesterday I lost four page one rankings, which I didn't deserve anyway, and was apparently a fluke until they did the PR update. So I dont mind, but I am curious if they are still tweaking on a daily basis or if its safe to continue link building. I dont want them to make another change and have it affect my rankings in a negative way.
Of those who responded, Id like to share with you an example of the quality of work I am seeking. If you believe you can provide this type of quality then repost in this thread and tell me and I will contact those of you who can for a sample order and select who I will use. This is an example of an ad I posted on textbroker that no one will accept due to the difficulty and high quality demand;
-NO DUPE CONTENT
-EXPLAIN WHY GENERIC AND BRAND NAME DIFFER IN APPEARANCE
-PROVIDE EXCEL WORKSHEET OF EVERY XANAX PILL CURRENTLY BEING PRODUCED
-INCLUDE DESCRIPTION, STRENGTH, COLOR, SHAPE, COUNTRY MADE IN, DRUG NAME (EX. XANOR)
-PICTURES, OR LINKS TO PICTURES IS A PLUS
SHOULD BE DETAILED, COMPLETE, ORIGINAL, AND HAVE INFORMATION THAT WAS RESEARCHED NOT JUST FOUND ON PAGE ONE OF GOOGLE.
GIVE ME STOLEN CONTENT I WILL LEAVE YOU BAD FEEDBACK.
GIVE ME GRAMMATICAL ERRORS AND LAZY FILLER WORDS, I WILL LEAVE BAD FEEDBACK.
PROVIDE HIGH QUALITY WORK, AND I WILL REHIRE YOU AT A HIGHER PAY RATE FOR CONTINUED WORK.
I am looking for content writers. Not textbroker.com, I want content written that isnt scraped and reworded from information already in google. Can anyone recommend a company which isnt afraid to read a book or a magazine, dig up old information to write something truly unique?
This should likely be in a fresh thread, but ill put it here as a side note. If you also can recommend a wordpress or joomla theme designer who has his own creative ideas and is highly skilled...
So theres nothing else I can do? Can I 301 the domain name to another one so I keep all my good backlinks? I spent a lot of time and money to have good links built. I did the re-inclusion request but I doubt anyone will care.
I check my webmaster tools, no notifications at all. No trademarked names either.
This looks no different than http://www.text-link-ads.com/ to me. Thats exactly what they rank for too. In my earlier days of SEO I bought links from some of these link renting companies. I saw no positive or negative results from the inbound links I rented so I stopped using them.
Personally, I would steer clear of any company that rents links. Link turnover is not good and thats unavoidable when a company rents them out on a monthly basis. However I have no personal experience with this specific company, maybe someone else will chime in with some real life experience.
I agree with Ryan, your backlinks look great, website is structured well and has a great looking design. No signs of you breaking any of googles TOS.
Yesterday, June 9th, I wokeup and ran my rank checking software. My two domains that I have page one number one rankings for are solid as they have been for the last year.
Before I went to sleep last night I ran the rank check again, and had lost all rankings. After researching into it more, I realized my entire domain name is deindexed. The site: search yields no results at all.
The domain name has links from over 250 root domain names, is highly focused on one product and one keyword. The links come mostly from articles, comments, forum posts, press releases, and 3-4 articles that were posted talking about my website by other bloggers.
The site has 60 pages, which I think (thought) was more than enough for such a tight focus. The domain is a good keyword match name that I paid a grand for. In webmaster tools it says my URLs are still indexed, however thats not the case.
I tried searching in Bing, and Yahoo. Bing - DeIndexed. Yahoo - One page of the site indexed.
I havent done anything black hat at all, which is ironic this domain was banned because its the only domain name links were built to using a respectable seo company. It runs on wordpress, and I had not added any new content in about 4 months.
PR4, and the PR still exists in the toolbar and on the websites I used to check it. Also tried searching google.fr, google.ru, etc... to see if it was a complete deindex, and it is. Then used the multiple datacenter check - which told me my domain name was not listed in any of the DCs checked.
It is an affiliate website, with one affiliate link on the homepage. I use a plugin to mask the link so it appears as /starthere/ rather than a long affiliate URL.
There is ONE catch, this website is in the pharmacy niche. Now before you all go saying oh well thats why, consider my question. I dont sell anything illegal, nor does the affiliate program I promote. I collect traffic from people searching for a prescription drug and then recommend a herbal alternative.
Something odd however, is that I have 5 websites like this. Each tailored to their respective prescription drug backlink wise, and then on site I have comparisons and explain the benefits of instead using one of the herbal products or OTC supplements from savon/walgreens whatever.
The other 4 websites gained rank, pages 1, 2, and 3 for their keywords when they were previously on pages 15-20. No new link building to the other domains, I hadn't given them any focus due to other projects.
The issue is the domain name which was banned was a real money maker with an aesthetically pleasing theme. Now its completely deindexed, and I dont know why. Despite the fact I am lost an income stream, I really would like to know why this occurred at all. I feel like I walked into my job, was fired and not told why.
This isn't the first time this has happened to me, however previously it was my own fault because I used an affiliate template and it didn't occur to me 5k other people were doing the same thing. (earlier days before I learned more about link building and basic SEO).
So, my question is what exactly happened yesterday? Did anyone else see an sudden change in traffic or rankings? Has anyone else experienced a complete deindex of their domain name, and if you have is this permanent or is google known for accidental / temporary removals during an update to their algo?
I may share my link if it will help, however I prefer not to unless its in private. Also if someone has access to Matt Cutts directly so I can ask what I am doing wrong, or has any idea how to contact someone at google (other than a request for reinclusion) I am all ears. Its very frustrating to see a decision made to ban my domain name without so much as an email saying "we dont like you".
All responses and opinions are welcome and appreciated!
Yesterday (June 9th, 2011) I had my top ranking website on page one number one be deindexed completely. No reason was given, no explanation in webmaster tools. All previous statistics in my webmaster tools account are gone, its empty. Something is going on with google right now.
