@patrick_at_nebraska_medicine of course! Let me know how things shake out, or if you have any other questions you want me to run by the team!
@ovlg Thanks for posting to the Moz SEO Forum! I'm sure others may have additional insight to share, but here are a few things that I would consider first as a way of increasing your organic click through rate.
First, is it possible that seasonality is at play? Perhaps there are certain parts of the year where those target keywords become less competitive and position improves, but that also may mean that not as many people are searching those keywords. The holidays are definitely a time when we can see this happen.
Target less competitive, long tail keywords: these are great for bottom funnel conversions, and often have a higher rate of converting than some of the broad terms you listed above.
Write effective descriptions and page titles: consider testing to make sure that your page titles and descriptions are captivating to the audience. Often this can mean the difference between someone choosing to visit your site over another.
Lastly, I'd consider the various SERP features that show up for your target keywords. We see Google investing more and more in surfacing answers and content directly on the SERP. Identifying an area where you can show up in these features can increase the likelihood that someone will click to your site. Consider leveraging structured data in your page build to increase the chance that your site will show up.
Hope this helps!
@avinashj Thanks for sharing your thoughts! This would definitely be some first steps to consider!
Hey @patrick_at_nebraska_medicine,
Definitely sounds like a challenging situation, especially since Google can run things on their own terms sometimes. I would definitely recommend checking out @HeatherPhysioc's Moz article on SEO Maturity: https://moz.com/blog/seo-client-maturity
I connected with @zac_heinrichs from our team at Moz and he agreed that you are likely on the right track with search intent. If Google believed that they could make money by showing ads for "kidney transplant", they would -- but since that is such a top of funnel keyword, they are likely displaying more informative resources, rather than a "book your appointment" type of search result. This is where your idea on more general content could come into play. Articles that answer questions like "what is a kidney transplant?", or "how does a kidney transplant work?" could work well here.
When I worked closely with agencies here at Moz, and I found that the best way to get buy in from customers is to show how the efforts are impacting the bottom line - telling the story about how more conversion oriented ads are leading to more bookings and ultimately more revenue for the client. It's likely that an ad for something top of funnel like "kidney transplant" is not converting as well and its not because the ad isn't appearing, it's because those people are not looking to book an appointment at that time.
Definitely looking forward to hearing more about what happens with your client and wishing you all the best!
Hey @joeysolicitor!
Thanks for reaching out, I'm sure others may have additional ideas and thoughts, but here are some of my ideas.
I would consider the keywords you are targeting. It's possible that these keywords are of higher difficulty because of larger mathematical players like Wolfram, Math, net, Wikipedia and others. You may want to consider identifying some less difficult, high volume keywords to go after to increase site visibility.
I'm also seeing a number of interesting SERP features in your keyword searches, it might be worth investigating how you could optimize the images in your post, or add a video to diversify your ranking potential!
Let me know if you try any of these ideas!
Hi @mrsbagsic,
My name is Hayley and I am one of our forum moderators here at Moz!
You are able to view the historical DA and linking domains under the Links tab of your Moz campaigns. You will need to be tracking your site in Moz Campaigns. Once your data is populated, you will be able to see historical DA data!
Please let us know if there is anything else we can help with.
@rayabahadur Moved this post into its own topic thread! Thanks for posting in the Moz SEO Forum!
Hi @ikuraa,
Welcome to the Moz SEO Forum! My name is Hayley and I am one of our moderators.
Unfortunately, Moz cannot track a site with just an IP Address. You should be able to track your site using your site URL so long as your website is open to web crawlers (more info on our web crawler here)
Are you running the site through a domain like Wix or Squarespace? I may be able to provide additional information with additional context!
@joelx great answer! Thanks for contributing!
@permatherm Moving this over to our paid search marketing category!
@riseseoservices could you elaborate on the issue you are currently experiencing? There is currently not a known issue with Page Grader.

Hey @webmarkets, I'm Hayley, one of our Moz Community Moderators! Glad to have you here!
I saw you recently posted in another one of our categories! I'm going to forward that over to our product team and get one of them to jump in on that question.
As far as Moz points go, those were replaced a few months ago when we made some improvements to the forum interface. Now, you can earn reputation points by earning upvotes on your posts! Hope that helps!
Thanks for your question! We receive questions like this frequently and ask that you visit our DA mega thread for guidance!

Hi @moviesflix, please see the original post for more info here!
Additionally, it's important that your site is available to be read my our Moz crawler. More info on that here: https://moz.com/help/moz-pro/site-crawl/crawl-troubleshooting

Hey Moz Community,
We've noticed that there are questions about Domain Authority, what it is, and how to positively impact it. We're here to answer your questions! For a full overview, please see our help hub article here: https://moz.com/learn/seo/domain-authority
First, it's important to keep in mind that Domain Authority (DA) is a search engine ranking score developed by Moz that predicts how likely a website is to rank in search engine result pages (SERPs). It is not a Google ranking factor. Domain Authority scores range from one to 100, with higher scores corresponding to a greater likelihood of ranking.
Since DA is based on machine learning calculations, your site's score will often fluctuate as more, fewer, or different data points become available and are incorporated into those calculations.
For instance, if facebook.com were to acquire a billion new links, every other site’s DA would drop relative to Facebook’s. Because more established and authoritative domains like Facebook will have increasingly larger link profiles, they take up more of the high-DA slots, leaving less room at the higher end of the scale for other domains with less robust link profiles. Therefore, it's significantly easier to grow your score from 20 to 30 than it is to grow it from 70 to 80. For this reason, it’s important to use Domain Authority as a comparative metric rather than an absolute one.
The best way to influence your DA is to improve your overall site health with a focus on the quality and quantity of external links pointing to your site.
Check out this video for more details on how to impact DA
Happy analyzing!
@frankie-btdublin You could test a "contact us" form or "help bot" instead of having your phone number visible on your site.
For example, you could ask questions in that form to qualify your leads and follow up with them accordingly.
If they meet the qualifications for a sales call, then you can have sales follow up accordingly. If not, you could send an automated email directing them to a self-serve portal where they can purchase what they need.
Hi @lana940! There is some research out there that says that video can improve web page conversion rates, but it really comes down to how you implement it. Placement and content can both impact whether your video is effective.
According to UnBounce, if your videos are not aligned with your current page offerings, video can actually hinder conversion rates.
Hope this helps!
This is a great answer! Thanks so much @garyblue!
@philiphgray Thanks for sharing your experience! This is so helpful!
@developer_man Very cool! Thanks for sharing!
Hey @bizmarquee, I notice that those queries are all "near me" queries. Since Keyword Explorer pulls data from national rankings and is not currently local specific, this may be why you are seeing these rank so low.
My recommendation would be to add these keywords to a tracked campaign and track it on the local level.
Hey @justinmurray, Are you concerned with whether Google will penalize you for these backlinks? If so, I've chatted with our Local experts and there is nothing to worry about
