I received a crawl report yesterday, made some site changes, and would like to see if those changes were done correctly.

Rather than wait a week for my automatic crawl to be generated, is there anyway to initiate a manual crawl on a single subdomain as a PRO member?

I have a similar forum question (I think) currently pending - but, my site isn't powered by Wordpress - and I stumbled upon the following while researching my issue. I've never used this plug-in but it seems like it would solve your issue.

Meta Robot Tags Editor

• Add the tag to archives, comment feeds, the login page, and more.
• Set meta robots tags (index/noindex and follow/nofollow) for each individual post, page, category, tag, and post type archive on your blog. Also supports custom post types and custom taxonomies.
• Avoid duplicate content SEO issues with the recommended noindex settings (see built-in module documentation for details).
• Give instructions to search engine spiders if desired (noodp, noydir, and noarchive).

If this doesn't work, maybe google: duplicate pages wordpress? Or: duplicate pages wordpress blog archive. Or: duplicate pages wordpress categories. Etc...

The hypothetical blog posting I want to have indexed is...

The first sentence of this blog posting is: "Jim and Janice jumped joyfully to Jackson."

I go out to google and search "Jim and Janice jumped joyfully to Jackson." There are 7 results. The first result is the blog posting I want indexed. The 2nd - 7th results are archive pages from my blog. Let's call one of those archive pages...

So, residing on this archive page are all of my postings from October 2011 including Jim and Janice's. Thus, there appears to be a ton of duplicate content on my site.

If I implement a canonical tag on the archive page, won't this archive page be referred to the blog posting I want indexed?

If so, that won't work. I need the blog posting and all the archive pages to remain as is but I don't want the archive pages to be indexed or show up as duplicate content.

Thoughts?

I may need to apologize in advance for this question but...

• Should I suggest my friend build a few links on his blog to the WSJ posting in question?
• Or, does building links to the page mean that he needs to create a blog elsewhere, make content relevant to Megan McAllister, and build links to the WSJ posting?

I (obviously) can't delete the archived pages regardless of how much traffic they do/don't receive.

Would you recommend a meta robot or robot.txt file? I'm not sure I'll have access to the root directory so I could be stuck with utilizing a meta robot, correct?

Any other suggestions to alleviate this pesky duplicate page content issue?

I'm new to SEOmoz but have a question regarding inbound links that I don't see posted in the forum.

In order to become more familiar with SEOmoz tools, I've been checking out sites that friends and family members have created as practice. Things have been going really smooth until I came across a 2+ year old page that should have included an inbound link from wsj.com but said link is not appearing in OSE for this page.

Background: A friend of mine has a (basically) defunct blog that had a pretty well trafficked posting in 2009. However, when I use OSE to check out both the domain and page inbound links, I don't see the aforementioned inbound link from wsj.com.

Why is that? Or, it's insanely late - am I missing something?
