RE: Country Specific Google Results
Thanks for the responses.
Yes, I've read about and have seen how Google has buried the function and agree that I think it may be a combination of downgrading/deprecating it as well as perhaps it is needed less with their capabilities to serve up results based on personalization, social signals, improved geo-targeting, etc.
Cheers

Country Specific Google Results
Does anyone have any stats (preferred) on users selecting Google results segmented to their country? For instance, users in the UK (France, Japan, etc.) selecting the "Pages from the UK" option to limit results to country based sites?
Or if not hard stats, at least any international users care to comment?
Cheers,
Brian

While being at a show is a hectic time to pull together a YOUmoz post, I couldn't help but feel that it would be rather symbolic while being in The Emerald City and the land of SEOmoz. Fortunately, I also had a post in mind already. Unfortunately, the original title I had in mind was a little more targeted, from catchy - "Maximize the Marketplace," - to practical - "Optimize You...

First off, we need to begin with the usual disclaimers and warnings -- not that they are necessarily necessary -- but just in case ... your mileage may vary, no claims made, use at own risk, don't try this at home, performed on a closed track with professional driver, and so on. And please note that these ideas are strictly conceptual, at least that I'm aware, and have not been te...

Along with all the hot "technical" topics this year, like Universal Search and blended search in general, algo changes, social media, local and mobile search, and most recently Google's big crack down on paid text links, it also seems to have been a big year for background discussions... high on the list of topics over the last 12 months or so being employment. On one hand you h...

Taking advantage of and capturing searches within the long tail has become an important area of focus for search marketers. It certainly has tremendous appeal… typically long tail searches have considerably less if any competition yet often represent searchers who are very far along the purchase path. Seems like the best of both worlds. The challenge of course is in actually identi...

We've all hit that point, either with our own business or perhaps with a client whose business we have gotten close to, where it feels like we've hit a creative dead-end. You know the point. Where it feels like nothing is fresh and the ideas have stopped flowing. It can happen anytime we get too close to something. Ironically, if you were asked about some other business you could pro...

The debate continues to wage within the SEM family as to whether SEO is rocket science. Somewhere along the way, it seems that this has become a question of literals? This is certainly a great position to be in if you are on the opposing side of the debate since it takes away the relative meaning of the statement and simply leaves a true or false statement. So if we are stuck in this li...
