Isn't this scraping Google results on a massive scale? Is this legal at all?

Do you get an error in the search numbers when using the keyword difficulty tool?

http://imgur.com/6uidr Is this any good for keyword research? I see they use some weird metric and I'm not sure whether those are relevant at all, plus it's really hard to do a bulk research. Let me know what you think.

I once read there is a way to use google adwords to see the REAL demand for a specific keyword, google adwords tool and other tools seem to be not-so-accurate. I just don't remember the exact method, can you please remind me?
