Hi all,

At the moment we are at the verge of building finally a blog. For SEO purpose I demanded that it would include social interactions with Google+, Facebook, Twitter, Youtube and some more. Especially Google+ for the authorship part.

But now they come asking me if they can work with Gravatar http://www.gravatar.com/support/what-is-gravatar/ - a Globally Recognized Avatar. I never worked with it before and can't find anything if it will negatively impact SEO on authorship - but I'm still not sure.

Does the Gravatar interfer with Google+ authorship?
I could find information about having to setup the author part in the Gravatar, but this doesn't give me the answer if this helps with Google+.

If anybody has experience of can tell me / point me in the right direction it much appreciated. Or maybe having a better solutions than the Gravatar.

To overcome that Google see both pages as duplicated content when empty, i would spend time on writting information about working in Cincinnati and a different piece about working in Atlanta.

I'm not from Amerika, I have no idea what the difference between these to cities are, do they have cinema's / dinners / lunch rooms for after and during work. Do they have 4 seasons or not. So make unique content for each page, by adding different jobs they will even have new content every 2/3 months (google likes), but if all jobs are gone they are still different. It will be some work in the beginning, but help you in the end.

Definetely go for subfolders, you can then target all you linkbuilding activities to different parts of the domains, and this will eventually help the complete domain. We work already with subfolders for the last 15 years and also with the hreflang, works fine.

But I had the a similar experience yesterday. 4 campaigns completely gone, the creditcard billing was overdue. I renewed, but I couldn't see any campaign, I tried to add 3 new ones also didn't work.

I logged off and the next day - logged on and it was all fixed, could see the old campaigns and 1 of the 3 new which I tried to start up again. Because it could be related to your account you can always contact directly via http://moz.com/help/contact

I think it will fix it quite easily as I didn't even had to email. But I saw my campaigns back withing 24 hours.

Make sure you do not re-use the old WMT-verification code.

Yes, indeed responsive design would be the optimum solution, but for this moment we work in phases.The responsive design will follow in the next stage. So not a solution at this point in time.

And yes, I'm talking about 5 different urls, but all with their own different unique content, targetting on different audiences. Now need to start sharing one mobile platform.

Struggle with the following impact on SEO if starting to share mobile website URL.

We have multiple PC urls (5 different domains).For example www.site1.com, www.site2.com, www.site3.com, www.site4.com and www.site5.com.

Now I have to convince other people within the company not to use one mobile website url for all different domains. The intention is to direct all mobile traffic from site1, site2, site3, site4 and site5 to the url: m.site4.com.

But now I have to give SEO impact feedback on the other domains.                                                       The obvious one is site1, site2, site3 and site5 will not have positive mobile SERP indexation.         Second impact: Duplicated content issues across multiple websites.
Third impact:users from site1, site2, site3 and site5 will see the change in URL, could give a negative user experience.
Fourth impact: text on site1 / site2 / site3 / site5 is not the same as on site 4 this will implement maybe hidden content issues, which could cause penalties.

Do I miss other negative SEO impact, I have been searching a lot of the articles /  blogs, Q&A but can't really find sufficient information about this particular subject. Any feedback or links to articles / blogs / Q&A are highly appreciated.

What do you exactly mean with 'parallel mobiel website'. Do you mean you have website www.example.com/article3 (which ranks for cars) and now you want to make a mobile website which will be named m.example.com/article3.

It is a matter of how important you find / urgently need extra traffic if you persuade the new mobile keywords. Google doesn't say you have to have different words for mobile vs pc.

Because you can just use the same content on PC - let say your www.example.com website and the m.example.com mobile website -  if you tell the robots that the 2 different websites belongs to the same entity (also in human language same company).

I do recognise the persistent from inside the company if somebody pitched an idea, which they think is the best idea every. It can be very hard to convince people not to do it, because they only see gain and a flashing website and don't have enough inside in the long term impact. Maybe a suggestion for trying to convince the company it do an A/B test first with adwords. Use the same keywords as you do on the homepage now, and lead them to the homepage (or a special landingspage similar to the homepage, maybe even already optimized). And target the new keywords a lead them to a special landingspage with the proposed new idea of sweetstakes.

Otherwise a keyword research with the different targeted keywords gives them better insight in the difference in numbers of traffic.

I'm working on the website to improve the internal linking structure. We have thousand of pages, and on every single page we have the same footer with the same links. For this reason I would like to change the footer in only relevant links for the user, but also for the robots. So for the user I leave in the general main links Home / Contact / Promotions and customise a part of the links to specific links about the section they are looking at.

Now my idea was to add to the General Main links a Nofollow, so I direct the robots in a better structure about how to read the website.

I think the pop-up screens which requested an login, is causing the 4xx error. because you can't enter without login. Think we should put a no-follow on these types of url's and that could solve the problem. What are your thoughts after seeing the link.

In my SeoMoz crawl report I get multiple 4XX errors reported and they are all on the same type of links. www.zylom.com/nl/help/contact/9/  and differiate between the number at the end and the language.

But I i look in the source code we nice said:

I already tested the little helpfull tool Xenu, but this also doesn't give any broken links for the url's which I found in the 4xx error report.

Could somebody give me a suggestion Why these 4xx errors keep coming? Could it be that the SeoMoz crawlers break the part ?sid=9&e=login' from the URL. Because if you want to enter the link, you first get a pop-up to fill in a login screen.

I'm about to change the complete URL structure of a website. In your comments you posted that the URL structure should always be meaningfull (I was always in this mindset). But one of the webinars of this year (july 2012) from Everett Sizemore

He's is saying, take out of the Category and subcategory from the products URL's. Could you please give more insights why you still think keep the Category and subcategory in the URL?

Every week I look at the different crawl reports for our website, since the start of my SeoMoz membership the Errors for duplicated content and duplicated Title is rising. But if I take out the .csv file and look in more detail, and select a pages which is marked as duplicated content, a canonical is actually existing on this page. So it shouldn't be an warning, I have no idea what the issue could be.

For example pagesare marked as duplicated content,

the parameters after '?' (question mark) are necessary for our internal system. To overcome duplicated content we coded that a canonical tag onis placed on every page with parameters and the main page is

but it doesn't seem to work, because my error warnings are still rising.
