I am aware ofth e penguin and panda updates and have been monitoring my traffic for the last few months.

I did notice that for some reason, from about 22nd / 23rd March we had a drop in traffic by about 50%, it stabilised in a few days but since then from april to present has been hovering around 35% drop in traffic.

what perplexes me is hat I also monitored our rankings and that was fine, pretty much the same, yet traffic is down. I have noticed our longer tail keywords have lost  traffic by as much as 60-900%

I would really appreciate some input, do you think this could be down to panda pulling pages out.

how can i find track pages indexesd for my site over time to see if this is where he problem is.

I havea lso noticed that in webamster tools, a domain  preferance is not set, it is set to default "do not set a preferred domain", would this not cause a  dup content issue, what should it be set to, post panda?

Any help would be greatly appreciated as this is really hurting our business.

Thank you for your reply, the sub domain contains an extensive library of xml schemas, http://bit.ly/aOEsG7 and is more a referance point for he developer community who may use our product (xml software tool)

Firstly apologies for the very brief question as I am mainly looking for your thoughts as opposed to specific help about a specific problem.

I am working on a site which has two sepreate domains and within one domain, two sub domains.

The two different sites both havea  high page rank, PR6 each, one is the corporate site and the other is the company blog.

There are also two sub domains within the corporate site, again both domains have high pr and tons of content.

My question is would it be better to consolidate all the assets under one domain or is it better to keep the sites sepreate, from an seo perspective that is.

I would like your input on the following dilemma

I am wanting to target the keyword "download xml".

at the moment Google indexes us on page 2 and indexes the page www.ourdomain.com/download.aspx

I would like to rewrite the url to be /download-xml-editor.aspx

The current page is a pr5 and is our most trafficked and externally  inked to page.

My thoughts are quite mixed on how to do this.

approach 1: re-write url of "download.aspx" and setup permanent 301 redirect of download.aspx to download-xml-editor.aspx

approach 2: create a new page called download-xml-editor and 301 redirect that to the current stronger page which is download.aspx

approach 3: create new page called download-xml-editor with unique content and try and get that page to rank over time, allowing it to build up links and not compromise the current page, then later 301 redirect

How would you deal with this and what are your recommendations
