In his most recent role as President of Mediahood, a small, 25-person digital agency, Mike developed the agency’s branding, positioning and messaging strategy by focusing on the advantages that small agencies provide to challenger brands.
As the former Chief Marketing Officer for KSL Media, a mid-sized, 135-person full service media agency, Mike handled marketing, sales and public relations, in addition to supervising all new business pitches and presentation materials.
During his 3-year tenure at KSL Media, new business growth increased by an average of 39% each year and delivered over $250 million in new revenue from brands that included PetSmart, Frontier Communications, Guitar Center, City National Bank, Mercury Insurance, First Tennessee Bank and more.
Mike was also the chief architect of KSL’s proprietary “Connected Analytics Platform” that focused on identifying and targeting niche consumer audience segments who prefer challenger brands to category leaders.
In addition to his media agency marketing expertise, Mike has over 25 years of experience in direct response marketing, which includes DRTV, direct mail and database marketing, and is credited with creating the first direct mail response model for Apple Computer.
Mike is the epitome of an early adopter of technology, particularly in agency new business development. Over the years, he’s tested and worked with a full range of new business tools and solutions providers, including CRM systems, business intelligence sources, market research, media analytics, relationship building tools and social selling platforms.
Having spent much of his career in the pursuit of challenger brands against formidable big agency competitors, Mike is uniquely qualified to help small to mid-sized agencies drive new business growth.
