I inherited a site that reported 3,184 crawl errors in MOZ and a significant number of them (nearly 600) were duplicate titles and content. I have that down to under 1,000 total errors and only 86 critical errors. I have seen my ranking grow pretty substantially and in one week had 6 pages increase over 20 positions in rank. I can share the MOZ Rank Report if you would like to see it.

So yes, it does have an impact.

I inserted the Knowledge Graph code on our site last week and am still not seeing the knowledge graph in our search results. Is something incorrect with my code?

I suspect it is the alignment of the "{" and "}" but others in the company say that doesn't matter. Any other explanations for why the KG isn't showing in the results? Thanks

I did test it with Google's Structured Data Testing Tool and got the "all's good." 

Update: I determined the Goal Completion Location listed at the top of this thread is a form created in Pardot, our marketing automation platform. Just an FYI for anybody else who sees a similar situation in their analytics.

New site is on track for September launch, thank goodness.

Site was built in-house with a custom CMS. It is PHP and pulls content via js from a plethora of locations many of which I have yet to discover. I never worked with PHP until now. The site structure is duplicitous after several marketing people prior to me had challenges with the CMS and just copied pages including titles and descriptions. I say this to answer David's questions about the platform.

I am nearly 100% confident my goal conversions are misleading due to capturing all views of the long list of videos we have on the site rather than just the one that demos our product with is my way of reporting lead generation. The screenshot below is for all goal completions with the goal location listed and #8 is the one that generated the question.

I inherited a website that has a host of issues. I set up Goal Conversions for lead generation and am getting this URL listed as a Goal Completion Location /l/24672/2014-07-31/b4dg5

I can tell it is a date but have no other insight into what or where this page is. Does anyone have experience with this and can offer a fix?

A related question is how can I find the URL that triggers the Goal Conversion. I tried editing the goal but it doesn't show the URL anywhere. And the Goal Completion Location is sort of a misnomer because it lists the URL prior to the completion.

I've done all of that minus the Google resource. You'll notice I mentioned that most of the content ranks very low and has very low engagement. I'll take it that my research and intuition is that our site won't be harmed by merely re-purposing the content rather than using a redirect for each one.

I work for a software company that is redeveloping the website (same domain.) We have tons of content in the form of articles and documents for support, how to use the product better, case studies, and blog posts. I've downloaded a landing page report and many of these have low impressions and little or no clicks (some ranked high other very low.) Should I redirect all this content to the new site where some of it won't exist or forget about it because of the lack of juice?

Is there a rule-of-thumb threshold for redirecting for content?

I realize this an old post however a coworker who has a home-based business asked me about this practice. She heard about it at a recent workshop. The take, which is different than what I've read here, is that buying expired domains is a good strategy due to their age which is valued in search. I was intrigued which is what brought me here.

1. Is there value in buying domains with a history
2. Instead of redirecting, use the domain to generate traffic with fresh content and link back to your original domain
3. And how much value is there in keeping domains out of competitors' hands if there isn't any value in owning the domains

I am sure you will receive more informed answers however I am facing a similar situation. I do know that local SEO greatly affects national rankings and recommend you optimize all local listings using a service like MOZ local (there are others too.) I track our rankings nationally and in a variety of markets where we compete or wish to compete.

I also recommend doing keyword research to determine your product is being searched locally (where to buy "your product" in washington dc) It may not be a large volume of searches but they could be very targeted meaning high value prospects. And the branding you get from it won't hurt either. And chances are those phrases will have a low difficulty as well.
