We used hubspot for our blogging until 6 months ago, and had over 90 blogs on the hubspot subdomain "blog.site.co.uk".

We've since reverted back to our own "site.co.uk/blog" but have noticed we no longer gain the traffic from the 90+ blog posts we put through hubspot.

To get this content back onto our site thought i could simply relaunch it onto our own /blog site and use .htaccess to rewrite the old url to the new one.  But hubspot keep the landing page "blog.site.co.uk" from re-directing to the new blog post.

Questions:

1. Has the original hubspot blog post gone from google index?
2. Are there any other risks to re-posting this back to our site?
3. Any advice on closing off the old blog post?

Sorry that was my mistake, I was only testing the Gallery Page and only quickly looked over it - sorry about that.

I fully agree with you that links are not the issue as i can't see enough 'spammy' links pointing to your site for Penguin to punish you. But just to completely rule out Penguin, have you done a full back link audit with Webmaster tools?

It does look like it is content related though, Panda was updated around the end of September but this is a roll out rather than an instant hit, it may have taken time for it to take effect

check out the Panguin Tool - This cross references your site traffic with ALL Google updates it could give you a better picture.

If your links are clean good quality and relevant there should be no reason why you would have a Penguin Penalty. Do you have any messages in WMT?

I would concentrate on building the site content though, from what i can see and what you've said it's quite thin and you will definitely see benefits if you build it up.

So from what I can see you don't have that many backlinks and the one ones you have are mostly from one website. But with a DA of 42 the inbound links seem relevant and good  quality.

You do need to work on a backlink strategy though as i don't believe you have enough to have a big enough effect to see a boost in rankings. The more good quality links you have the more chance you have of ranking - That's the Penguin side of things.

As for Panda - Each page does seem to have its own unique content, although the layout is the same, this shouldn't have much of a negative effect as long as the content on each page is original.

What I can't see though is keywords.

for example your Mercedes Gallery page (http://www.carismaautodesign.com/gallery/mercedes/) has no content at all. Google can't read Images so this is very thin content. You could have a paragraph at the top talking about what the user might find on the page.

Even the 'News' page is all image based.

My advise would be to get writing content, original relevant good quality content, use your News page as a sort of Blog and use links within that to link to other pages on your site.

Sorry I may have missed a lot of points but i hope this kind of steers you in the right direction

You can't really tell if you have a penalty based on traffic alone, before you start jumping to the worst case scenario check your keywords.

If you have a penalty your keywords would have dropped dramatically. But if your keywords are still ranking retentively normal than you might want to explore other options for your traffic loss.

Also Penguin doesn't look for content that's Panda's job, Penguin is more looking for spammy links that aren't relative or natural.

I would do the redirect, essentially if you can access your site from www.example.com and example.com and both have the same content this will be classed as duplicate.

This won't do any harm to your current rankings and should actually have a positive effect

That is a strange one.

It seems that content.onlineagency are themselves a travel company (http://content.onlineagency.com/c/74/74684/7466411_74684.htm)

It's strange that they have that page that is clearly copied.

I can't see any connection between the 2  companies, apart from their websites are quite similar in terms of quality.

The only thing that I can think is they are actually competitors and somebody is trying some sort of negative SEO tactics.

But this shouldn't really effect your clients site, just disavow and move on is my advice

I think either is okay.

But personally for user experience I prefer your second method.

For people skimming your page they are more likely to be enticed by the event title rather than the date.

But I see your point about the duplicating the date, but I wouldn't worry about it too much, I think it will actually help the user experience, as all the information will be within their eye line without having to make them scroll up to see the date again.

I hope this helps with your decision.

Get writing a bunch of content, push it out on social media, write a press release, try and gain some natural backlinks the best way you can, do you have a company blog? If so write an article about your Emergency vet Care and link it to your new page.

Basically your new page needs link juice, but also that keyword may have always been pointing to your homepage so your new landing page may just need a little bit of time before Google recognises the new page as being the more relevant page.

Use the Panguin tool, it cross references your site traffic with algo updates.

It does sound to me like you have a penalty. Google doesn't always tell you you have a penalty though. But if your rankings have suddenly and dramatically dropped this does seem like a penalty .

Do you keep your content fresh? Updating your landing pages at least once a month can help.

Have you tidied up your back links disavowing any spammy links that might be pointing to your site?

I would definitely start with the Panguin tool though it can be a real eye opener

We are now sifting through a lot of the duplicate alias's, creating redirects, and then going into delete them.  Also altered the option going forward.  I have decided to go with 'Do nothing' as i don't want it to make any URL alterations - That should be OK shouldnt it?
