We have a client that operates 5 gyms in 5 different part of Miami, and each gym has its own website. All sites rank well and have a a good pagerank.

For the purpose of their marketing and brand they would like 1 website developed which includes all of their gyms which we are launching later today. Each gym will have it's own landing page within the website

Should we redirect the URL's of the different websites to the individual landing pages on the new site or how should that work to minimize any penalties on our SEO.

For example (these are fake url's):

www.gymA.com, www.gymB.com, www.gymC.com, www.gymD.com

The new url: www.gym.com

New landing pages:
www.gym.com/gymA, www.gym.com/gymB, www.gym.com/gymC, www.gym.com/gymD

Should we do a redirect from:

• www.gymA.com to www.gym.com/gymA
• www.gymB.com to www.gym.com/gymB
• www.gymC.com to www.gym.com/gymC
• www.gymD.com to www.gym.com/gymD

I am looking for a software to track all keywords my website is ranking for. I am aware that SEMrush can accomplish this, but as I am paying for mOz already, I was looking for something less expensive.

mOz has a feature to track keywords that drive traffic to your website by linking it to your google analytics, but I want to find more than that...I want EVERYTHING.

Does anyone know/use this kind of software

*Please comment with specific programs/software/tools in your response. I need real suggestions. I'm not looking for the Matt Cutts "cookie cutter" answer (like what I did there?) like "you should search your analytics for words you're already ranking for".

You discussed very helpful techniques for onsite optimization, but how about the offsite SEO and the keywords used in content marketing?

To use your example: would it be beneficial to use keywords in the content and anchor text like "commercial photographer" without also including the location ("in Birmingham"), since Google is localizing the results anyway?

"commercial photographer" will presumably gain more searches than "commercial photographer in Birmingham", even in the local arena.

I have a question regarding Google's local search results for broad keywords. Since Google is changing their algo to reflect local results for broad words, would it be beneficial now to start going after those words as well?

For example: we have a client ranking for 'miami security alarm', but I would like to know if it would be beneficial to start optimizing for 'security alarm' as well.

Also, since Google's keyword research tool reflects searches on a national level, how would I be able to find out how many searches a broad keyword is receiving on a local level?
