I have encountered some issue with 301 redirect and htaccess file.
I need to redirect the following url:
to:
The 301 redirect command I wrote in htaccess file is as follow:
Redirect 301 /?specifications=colours/page/3 http://www.domain.com/colours
And it doesn't work at the moment. What is the correct way to set up 301 redirect here?

I've noticed something like a quote whilst I was doing a search in News section. Does anyone know what is it called? Is it some sort of microdata or something you can manipulate or is it up to Google's algorithm to determine whether or not to display the section and the content of it.
The section in question is highlighted in the attached image.

Thanks for your reply but i'm looking for the percentage of users that use google.ie in ireland over google.com and the same for google.co.uk v google.com in the UK rather than any specific keywords
I'm doing some research on International SEO and whther we go for multiple ccTLDs or a single generic TLD and the usage is going to help with the decision.

What i'm looking for is the number of users of different Google versions in UK and Ireland, so:
google.com v google.ie in Ireland
and
google.com v google.co.uk in UK

2. How often do you refresh meta descriptions?
I am not sure whether it's a new feature, but I noticed this little time stamp on one of the search results, it says 1 day ago, and the website ranked quite high. So is there any correlation here?
Excuse me here I can't reveal the website url here due to the confidentiality.
Background:
This website has about 100+pages, and is a wordpress site. Out of 15 targeted keywords, there are few ranked first on Google.co.uk. others are ranked between 3rd and 50+. In the past couple of weeks, we have been submitting to various websites/directories. and 4 main keywords' rankings are improving steadily from 50+ to 20+. We don't buy links, or pay for link exhcanges. We only exchange links on rare occasions.
Symptoms:
1. 2 out of 4 main keywords dropped its rankings from 20+ to 80+ 4 weeks ago over night.
2. We kept on acquiring links from directories and websites, and 2 weeks after the drop, the rankings of 2 affected keywords had gradually made its way back to 20-30. Just we thought the glitch was over, these 2 keywords has dropped rankings to 50+ once again.
3. The change of rankings looks too suspicious to us, so we went to use the Moz tool, and discovered the domain authority has also dropped 25% of its value in a month time.
We never experienced such violent changes in terms of rankings in such a short period of time. My question is: what factors there are to have caused such violent shifts? Why the value of the domain authority is dropped by 25%-30%? What elements affect the domain authority the most?
I have always stayed away from sites like link market however in doing some competitor research one of our main competitors seems to have a number of links from linkmarket so maybe it does work, but for how long it works with Googles war on spam is another question!
I'm afraid the only way to get high quality backlinks is hard work
