Just to confirm: I need to remove hreflang on site pages that have a canonical to another page (and/or other website)? Thanks for taking time to answer.

Only for the pages (English & Spanish) on my site.

I understand. I was asking about the situation where the canonical points to a page not on my website.

Is it good practice to use hreflang on pages that have canonicals?
I have a page in English that has both English & Spanish translations on it. It is pulled in from a page generated on another site and I am not able to adjust the CSS to display only one language.
Until I can fix this, I have made the English page the canonical for both. Do I still want to use hreflang for English & Spanish pages?
What if I do not have a Spanish page at all. I assume (from what I've read) I should not have an hreflang on the English page. Is this correct?
Thank you in advance.

RE: My automated build system is creating a duplicate website
Unfortunately, since URL is generated from the original site, I cannot change the robots.txt. It uses the same one as the main site. That would exclude adding a noindex meta tag, as well. Any other ideas?
Is there a way to add the duplicate URL to search console & tell google not to crawl?
Thank you.

My automated build system is creating a duplicate website
Because of the tools my company is using for CI/CD (A CI/CD pipeline helps you automate steps in your software delivery process, such as initiating code builds, running automated tests, and deploying to a staging or production environment.) an extra URL is generated. The canonical for the generated site is that of our main website, but other than that it is the same website.
- Could this new URL compete with our website?
- Will Google count it against us since it is the same content BUT with canonical (it is not noindex-ed)?
- Does it matter?
- Surely others are using this method?
Answers/thoughts will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Product schema GSC Error 'offers, review, or aggregateRating should be specified'
I do not have a sku, global identifier, rating or offer for my product. Nonetheless it is my product. The price is variable (as it's insurance) so it would be inappropriate to provide a high or low price. Therefore, these items were not included in my product schema. SD Testing tool showed 2 warnings, for missing sku and global identifier.
Google Search Console gave me an error today that said: 'offers, review, or aggregateRating should be specified'
I don't want to be dishonest in supplying any of these, but I also don't want to have my page deprecated in the search results. BUT I DO want my item to show up as a product. Should I forget the product schema? Advice/suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

RE: Should I use LocalBusiness schema on my home page or Contact Us page?
I am using JSON LD.
Any thoughts on where to use Organization schema?
On Product schema I am adding Brand with URL & logo. Is that overkill? What if I don't have a SKU or global identifier? (I am getting warnings for these on the SD tester.)
Also I have English & Spanish pages. Does the schema go on both? The main thing that would change is URL, name.
Thanks for your input.

Should I use LocalBusiness schema on my home page or Contact Us page?
I know I should only use Organization schema on one page of my site, but I'm not sure if I should use it on the Home page or use LocalBusiness schema on the home page. I was thinking of adding LocalBusiness schema to home page, Organization schema to About Us page and Corporate Contact Schema to Contact us page. Thoughts? Is there a best practice? I can't seem to find much information on what's best to use where.

Robots.txt & meta noindex--site still shows up on Google Search
I have set up my robots.txt like this:
User-agent: *
Disallow: /and I have this meta tag in my on a Wordpress site, set up with SEO Yoast
name="robots" content="noindex,follow"/>
I did "Fetch as Google" on my Google Search Console
My website is still showing up in the search results and it says this:
"A description for this result is not available because of this site's robots.txt"
This site has not shown up for years and now it is ranking above my site that I want to rank for this keyword. How do I get Google to ignore this site? This seems really weird and I'm confused how a site with little content, that has not been updated for years can rank higher than a site that is constantly updated and improved.

Phone number Schema that Google WMT blog talked about this week throwing HTML Validation error
My code looks like this:
The HTML validation errors are these:
Attribute contacttype not allowed on element span at this point.
Attribute areaserved not allowed on element span at this point.
Attribute contactoption not allowed on element span at this point.
Attribute availablelanguage not allowed on element span at this point.Have I misread how to implement this schema or is html validation not up to speed and I should ignore for now?
Thanks!

Is there another option for User Testing besides Usertesting.com
I loved the presentation Phil Sharp did about A/B testing using User Testing. I would love to use his company UserTesting.com, but their minimum package is for $7500! I'm a small business and certainly cannot afford that. Is there another option for the small business owner?

RE: Robots.txt & meta noindex--site still shows up on Google Search
I did read that about the robots.txt and that is why I added the noindex.
I use SEO Yoast for sitemap.xml, so shouldn't all my pages be there? I believe they are because I just looked at it a couple days ago.
So are you saying I should look through my backlink profile (WMT) and try to remove any backlinks?
Would 'Fetch as Google' not ping Google to tell them to recrawl?
Thanks for your help.

RE: Google Local deleted my Google+ Accounts
I apologize for filing this under the wrong categories.
I talked to Google+ today and here's the confusion in case anyone else has this problem.
I created my Business profiles in Google.com/places and then created Google+ profiles separately.
When "places" became "Business" separate Google+ profiles were created for "Local" businesses.
So the Google+ profiles I had created became "Brand" profiles. The Google+ profiles Google created became "Local" profiles. So essentially I had two profiles, but I was only posting to the "Brand" profile I created.
To connect them go to here: https://support.google.com/business/answer/6010825?hl=en
Click on "I've already created a page for my business, but it's not connected to Google Maps"I had to delete the other "local" profiles which luckily had few followers, since they shared the same address.
As soon as I'm verified as the owner via postcard the problem should be solved.
Thank you for your help.

Looks like your connection to Moz was lost, please wait while we try to reconnect.
