Thanks. I didn't think it would make too much of a difference but I wanted to get another opinion. I'm not worried about spammy URLs. Everything will be off of a short .edu - they look pretty clean with multiple subdomains.

Merging two different domains - subdomain or subfolder?
My company has two sites on different domains. We are considering merging the sites into one and keeping only the dominant domain. The dominate site is already a sub-domain of a larger organization so the new sub-domain would be two levels deep. I realize this is a little abstract so below is an example
Dominant company site: company.root-domain.com
Secondary company site: other-root-domain.com
When they merge, everything will be on company.root-domain.com. Should it be
Note: The other site has several hundred pages. Both sites have strong authority and link profiles. I want to maintain as much of the value on the other site as possible with the merge.

RE: 301 issue in IE9
They told me the issue is causing the redirect script to break so redirects don't fire and we just get a 404. I will say I don't fully understand what is going on from a technical perspective. But, I understand that they want to stop using 301s and obviously that is scary to me as an SEO. I want to provide them with some more information or a solution so that they feel comfortable using 301s.

301 issue in IE9
My development team recently discovered an issue with 301 redirects caching in IE9. They did some research and found the situation was very complicated so their solution was to use 302s and no longer use 301s. As a temporary solution to a few URLs I was okay with this, but we have a site redesign launching in a few months and I am quite worried if we have to do all of our redirects as 302s. Has anyone else had this issue with IE9 and 301s. I could use any advice on how to overcome this issue.
Thanks!

Exporting keywords from PRO?
I would like to export the keywords from all of my campaigns but I can't find anywhere to do that. I don't need data, just the keywords. I want to do an audit and refresh of what I am tracking and excel would be quickest. Thanks!

Advice on SEO for videos on a streaming server
I am looking for some advice on video SEO when the video file is housed on a streaming server. An example page is below. The onlyvideo element on the page is a script reading in the filepath to the streaming server so I am not sure what the best course of action is.
Currently, none of our videos are indexed.

RE: How similar do pages need to be in order to utilize the canonical tag
Thanks for the response. Should I take that you advise against the utilizing the canonical tag for this scenario since you offered alternatives? Both of these alternatives make sense but I am not sure they are workable solutions within my site governance.

How similar do pages need to be in order to utilize the canonical tag
Here is my specific situation. My company released new versions of a few documents in the fall. I was hoping that over time the old version would decline and the new version would rise but after 6 months the old version continues to rank #1 and the new version #3. The old version needs to stay on our site but users should really be getting to the most recent version. I think utilizing the canonical tag would solve the issue but i am concerned because the content on the actual pages is not duplicate but it is updated. Below are the two URLs to see the differences in the content.

Is this an appropriate situation to use the canonical tag? If not, is there a better solution.
