I am working on the SEO on a few different websites and I have built out an article marketing campaign so that I can get high quality backlinks for my website.

I have been writing the content myself and I have been manually building out the top Web 2.0, Article Directory, and Doc Sharing sites.

today I was creating an account on squidoo and I wondered if it mattered if I had the username be one of two things:

1. my keyword as a user name, like: [keyword+geotag] example: roofinghouston

2. just my first and last name as the username (or just a username I always use)

(The reason behind #1 would be to have the optimized keyword and location I am trying to rank for, inside of the username. The reason for #2 would be that I don't want to get into trouble by having "too much" optimization.)

I know a bit about optimization and that getting your keyword out there is great in a lot of areas, but I am not sure if it looks "suspicious" if I have my username be the keyword+geotag.

I am just worried that all of this hard work will be torn down if I look like I'm trying too hard to be optimized, etc etc.

There is no one answer, I am mainly looking for shared experiences.

If you do have a definite answer, then I would like that too

That was a great answer, and it was what I was looking for, I appreciate it very much.

I recently added rich snippets to my website to link my Google+ with my website so that whenever someone looks at my website on Google search it will show my picture.

It has yet to show up on the search results and I understand this could take a couple weeks.

My question is:

will the authorship/picture of me show up on the Google search results no matter if it is the root domain or a blog/article post, or will it only show up on an article post that someone sees in the Google search results.

I viewed my root domain in the google rich snippets testing tool and it shows my authorship picture but it is not showing up in the SERPS

I was wondering if it was possible to add any schema, or microdata, or anything of that sort, to my website/webpage in order to show the location of the business just underneath the snippet of the website in Google.

I have seen this with other businesses and I am not sure if it is only because they have the business listed on Google Places, or if it is because they have schema data on their website and when it is read by Google it shows underneath their snippet in Google search.

Also, if there is an ability to make the address, phone, etc show up underneath the Google search listing, can I do this with a plugin or widget for wordpress?

Thanks for the input, the main question I have is if I have a menu that says "Water Damage Repair" is it good to have a drop down menu to say "Water Damage Repair Detroit"

or should the drop down just be "detroit"

I am building a website with the category "water damage repair" and in the menu of the website I want a drop-down menu that contains the keyword + geolocation for example "water damage detroit" "water damage chicago" "water damage New York" and they will all be drop downs so that I can have the exact match keywords in the menu and on the page but I want them all to link to the same page so that I don't have to build out 5 different pages that all have the same general information on them, I would rather just have the categories with the keyword rich words then them all point to the same area.

Is this a good idea to have a drop down menu for a category "Water Damage Repair" and then have 5 different Exact match keywords like "water damage detroit" and then have all of those exact match keywords link to the same page or should they all have individual content for each exact patch keyword even though they are all the same topic?
