How do you keep track of the keywords you're working on ?
Hello Moz community,
Let's suppose you're working on a +600 pages website and you are working on lots of keywords.
I'd like to know if you had a database / excel / tool to know which keywords you've been targetting so that you don't create twice the same content ?
Thanks for your answers

RE: Do you know any competitive landscape tool ?
Ryan and Ruth,
Thanks for your answer, indeed lowering the number of keywords to the "broader" ones is a really good option. I'll try AuthorityLabs.
Meny thanks

Do you know any competitive landscape tool ?
Hello Moz community,
I wonder if you have tips / tools to build a good competitive landscape "picture" for your clients ?
When i'm working on a pre-sales audit, i like to generate 100/200 keywords related to my prospect universe and then show him how well/bad positioned he is on this "market".
To do so i use AdvancedWebRanking to monitor position of prospect + 3 competitors for this list of Keywords. Then i manually calculate a "market share" derived from each actor position.
I wonder if there is a tool that can automatically do it ? For a list of keywords that you input.
Thanks for your answers

Is 301 redirect replacing or adding PA on a page ?
Hello Moz community,
I am re-structuring information architecture on a website.
The homepage targets keyword A
There is a page /page-on-B/ that targets keyword B
There is also an older page /page-on-kinda-B/ that targets a keyword which is really close to B ( i think they should have been worked on the same page...)I want to re-optimise the homepage on keyword B because i know it is worth the effort.
If i re-write the homepage to talk about B and do a 301 redirect of :
/page-on-B/
/page-on-kinda-B/to the homepage
is it going to add page authority to the homepage ? is it the right way to proceed ?
Thanks for your support ! -

How do you build your pre-sales seo audit
Hello Moz community,
I'd like to know if you build "pre-sales seo audit" when selling your services to a prospect.
I think the main idea of a pre-sales audit is to show your prospect that you
- understand his industry (trends & competition)
- understand the opportunities
- know the roadblocks on his website
If so, i'd be interested in discussing the information you put into your pre-sales audit and how you organise it. If you know ressources i should read as regards to mini seo audit / pre-sales seo audit just paste the link
Thanks for your answers

RE: Wouldn't it be great to add a visitor intent field in a keyword study ?
Hello Robert,
First of all thanks for the quality of your answer.
When i first wrote this question i was thinking of a "real human" reading all the keywords and determining an intent for each of them and not of an algorythm :).
I'm actually working on my keyword study with this goal in mind :
-> i try to be in my "persona's shoes" while reading each keyword and i ask myself "what's the intent behind this keyword".
Then i write a little user story and link it to several keywords.
This way of processing makes me feel like a "re-humanisation" of keyword study ; i don't only group the keywords semantically (like a robot could do) but i try to dig and discover what's behind and ie: how to please my visitor.

Wouldn't it be great to add a visitor intent field in a keyword study ?
Hello everybody,
With hummingbird update i think i understand that two pages like
- exclusive dating website
- chic dating services
which could have been targeted on 2 different pages can now be targeted in a single one.
In the end google is asking "Well... isn't an "exclusive" dating website the.. same as a "chic" one ? isn't it the same visitor intent which is triggered ? ".I'm building a new keyword study for one of my websites and i'm trying to be more in the "intent" point of view than in the "keyword" one.
I've added a new column to my study which includes transactional / navigational and informational dropdown. I think this information is great but i feel that something is missing...
I wonder if we could include a column which describes the real visitor intent in the form of a "user story"
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_storyfor example :
As a visitor i want to land on a page that proves that the company is only working with "exclusive" people.
-> We could optimise this page for all the "exclusive" "chic" "fancy" "elegant" "elite" keywords.Just a thought, i'd be really interested in knowing your point of view.
Thanks a lot for your answers
