301 a strong but under-performing landing page to a new domain?
Hi guys,
Our website have a very strong landing page (PA 80, more than 1,000 domains linking) but is currently not ranking at all as the targeted terms are dominated by exact match domains.
We are thinking of redirecting this particular page to a new partial match domain targeting the same keywords.
Is it a good move?

Linking to local pages on main page - keyword self-cannibalization issue?
Hi guys,
Our website has this landing page:
Is this considered keyword self-cannibalization if on the above page we link to local pages such as:
www.example.com/service1-in-chicago/
www.example.com/service1-in-newyork/
www.example.com/service1-in-texas/
Many thanks

RE: Having to type Google CAPTCHA all the time
Also we use SEOQuake toolbar all the time which as far I know check Google PR + results count for a particular URL/domain. Is it a potential issue too?

RE: Having to type Google CAPTCHA all the time
Thanks for your prompt responses guys,
The solutions I intend to use are:
1. Use other SEs (Bing) for non SEO related searches (e.g. research, staff personal use etc.)
2. Stop using Rank Checker for rank checking.
3. Split the computers into using 2 internet connections so 7/each.
I don't really like the idea of using Hide My Ass when working all the time as it does slow down your connection + we can't send emails in Outlook when it's turned on too (which we often forget).
Any other suggestions you want to add/feedback for the above?
Thanks

Having to type Google CAPTCHA all the time
Hi guys,
Our office has about 15 computers all on the same IP address and about 10 actively search on Google.
Recently we have been asked to type in CAPTCHA almost every single time searching on Google and would like to know if you have any suggestions of resolving this.
We do use Firefox Rank Checker to check ranking once per week (around 400 keywords) but we use Hide My Ass to hide the IP.
No malware or virus detected on computers in the network.
Many thanks for your help in advance

Speed up the process of removing URLs from Google Index
Hi guys,
We have done some work to try to remove pages from Google index. We have done the following:
1. Noindex tag
2. Make pages returning a 404 response.
Is there anyway to notify Google about these changes so we can speed up the process of removing these pages from Google index?
Also regarding the URL removal tool, Google says that it's used to remove URLs from search results, does it mean the URLs are removed from their index too?
Many thanks guys

RE: Member request pages, indexed or no indexed?
Hi Doug,
Thanks for your reply.
In terms of traffic, it's about 40% but in terms of overall conversions, it's about 5% (compared to overall Google organic traffic). Hence we said it's not converting very well.
We did adjust the page so that when visitors arrived from Google there's a form to list a similar request but probably since they were actually looking for prices/specs of those items they were not really interested in the services we provided.
But I do think you made a really good point there of trying to establish a relationship with prospective users. Probably that's a better way of using this traffic.
Thanks for the suggestions they're much appreciated.

Member request pages, indexed or no indexed?
We run a service website and basically users of the site post their request to get certain items fixed/serviced.
Through Google Analytics we have found that we got lots of traffic to these request pages from people searching for those particular items.
E.g. A member's request page: "Cost to fix large Victorian oven" has got many visits from searchers searching for "large Victorian oven".
The traffic to these pages is about 40% of our Google organic traffic but didn't covert to more users/requests well and has roughly 67% bounce rate.
So my question is: should we keep these pages indexed and if yes what can we do to improve the conversion rate/reduce bounce rate?
Many thanks guys.

RE: Unique root linking domains - clarification
Hi Casey,
Thanks for your answer.
As you were saying the 2nd link from same domain will be counted, will it be diluted in value even if it's from a different page to the first link?
E.g. Link 1: www.externaldomain.com/page1 linking to www.mydomain.com/page1
Link 2: www.externaldomain.com/page2 linking to www.mydomain.com/page2
Will the 2nd link lose some value as externaldomain.com already linked to mydomain.com?
Thanks.

Looks like your connection to Moz was lost, please wait while we try to reconnect.
