For example because I don't want the landigpage to become one of the most important sites of my project, that gets the best rankings due to the high number of backlinks. I've recently seen some major linkbaits using the "noindex"-Tag on their landingpages, so I thought maybe there exist some other aspects why it would be recommendable I didn't think of yet..

Hi together,

we are using a CDN for delivering static images. Due to some changes we want to change the path for images for the whole domain.

like:

images.example.com/old/var/test.jpg

to

images.example.com/new/var/test.jpg

Does anyone know what could happend to SERPs?

(old path will  be available)

Hi,

our old content is definitly gone away. We have a lot of volatile content which has got a lifetime from 6-12 month and somtimes shorter. I believe keeping old URLs will blow-up indexed pages.

But my general question was about 303 code. Do you have some experience about the difference between 301/303?

our experience with updating page-titles is the following: Minor changes like switching 2.0 to 3.0 will not have negative impact.

301 should keep link-juice but there is a potential risk to loose some rankings.

To avoid duplicate content problems I cannot recommend your last option.

Due to the last google-freshness update I believe updating the document, title and keep old URL without redirecting will be the best soultion.

is there anybody how has got some experience with 307 HTTP status code?

We would like to use 307 HTTP status code (temp redirect) for disabling temporary some of our shop-categories where all products are out of stock.

Generally a few days or hours later products are back in stock and category page is also back. Is it a good idea to use 307 beccause link sould be disabled temorary or should we use 301 instead?

is there anybody who has got some experience with 303 HTTP Status Code?

Our software development would like to use 303 "See Others" instead of 301 for redirecting old product-links to the site-root, instead of showing 404 errors.

What is the best practise for redirecting old product links which are gone in online-shop context?

Thank you for your answers. We have some important sites we'd like to keep link juice but due to technical reasons we need to do double redirection. Currenty I expect we will loose rankings because we are going to restructure the whole site. I will see it in a couple of days and come back with my experience...

due to some technical reasons I have redirect (301) an existing link two times.

Example:

www.mydomain.com/root/site.html > 301 > www.mydomain.com/site.html > 301 www.mydomain.com/site_new.html

Is there anybody how has got some experience like doing a double redirect? What about link juice?
