RE: Unoriginal Content Shared By Web Firm with Industry Niche
Thanks so much for this quick response. Yes I am proposing to them a new site design as well. I would just hate for them to opt for the SEO services without a new site.
It amazes me that the niche industry website companies repurpose all their content on their client's websites. I know of a client that was paying Findlaw $1200/month for repurposed blog content and supposed other SEO services.

Unoriginal Content Shared By Web Firm with Industry Niche
I have clients who have worked with Web Design companies that focus on a particular niche. As most of you may know, these type of web companies use the same content on all of their clients' sites (examples: Dentists, Law Firms, CPA's). I want to propose to this prospect for us to do a site redesign as part of their SEO contract. The site they use right now is managed by the type of web company that I have described above. But the main question is, if they keep using this site with unoriginal content - will it hurt their rank of have no effect? I plan to add plenty of original content to their site.

Duplicate Content Errror
I am getting a duplicate content error for urls for the "tags" or categories pages for my blog.
These are some the URLs that SEOmoz is saying are errors, or duplicate pages.
http://sacmarketingagency.com/blog/?Tag=Facebook
http://sacmarketingagency.com/blog/?Tag=content+marketing
http://sacmarketingagency.com/blog/?Tag=inbound+marketing
As you can see, they are just the pages that are aggregating certain blog post based on how we tagged them with the appropriate category.
Is this really a problem for our SEO, if so any suggestions on how to fix this?

RE: Developing my footer area
If I wanted to outrank this competitor www.hannibals catering.com, would it help me or not to use our keywords in the footer like they did, or is there a better alternative?

RE: Link Building Tactics for 2012?
I think when it come to great content we should all look to the original experts at content creation - journalists. Ask yourself - is this blog post newsworthy, is it relevant, is it unbiased? Put yourself in the readers shoes and be honest with yourself - is this content really worth the readers time? I mean web content producers have it the hardest - pre-internet journalists weren't competing for nearly as much attention as now. For print media, readers may be stuck with only one magazine in the bathroom or plane - so that is what they will read. The web is inherantly a browsing platform - so we are always looking for something better. That is why online dating can be so discouraging - or so my friends say ! ; )
So be very critical of your content. And obviously put the time into what I call "syndicating" the content out to social media, bookmarking, etc.
My best,

Local Keyword Geolocation
I am really confused about how geolocation and search works. For example, I can search "Air Conditioning Repair" in Google and will get local search results depending on my geolocation. How do I set up keywords in SEOmoz "Air Conditioning Repair" and get the ranking depending on the users geolocation? Do I have to have the keyword "Sacramento Air Conditioning Repair" to get the same results if I search within the vicinity of Sacramento with the term "Air Conditioning Repair."
Thanks in advance for everyones help on this question.
