When did you make this website live? and when did you notice that they have cloned your website?
However, there is nothing to worry, it takes time to DMCA to respond to all the queries, You can also touch base with their hosting company to report about this issue, and directly email them as well.
Report this issue to Google as well. But Google is smart enough to track such frauds if your site content and design is older than the other website, sooner or later it will dropped in rankings.
First search engines index your website and then shows the cache. Cache is actually a snapshot of the page which search engines have indexed. They actually want to show you the copy which they've in their index, so that you can verify and if found any problem then can correct it.
The points which you've mentioned/explained is only related to optimization. What exactly are you doing on promotion part.
I guess you must be promoting this page via:
If not then start immediately. Optimization helps in better indexing but not directly in SE Rankings.
Apply variation in Anchor Texts while developing links, so that it looks natural. for e.g:
It appears as if the bounce of this page would be relatively high, NO?
As long as you've not stuffed your keywords and using naturally. It won't harm you. As ebay uses "Buy" N number of time on one page.
Ask yourself if your content looks keyword stuffed or get it reviewed here
Share the URL to get the fair feedback from the top SEO community
Allow your visitors to directly land on your competition page, which you primary goal. After finishing with the Poll/Contest, they can themselves choose the page they want to visit.
Confusing the customer is loosing the customer. Be very specific. Don't let them use their brain. Just guide them
You're Right Doug, Thanks for the help. I got the answer
Doug, it is quite possible that some visitors would directly be going to the goal Page, but when I've already created a funnel for goal conversion and required step is also there so I assume that it should not be counted as converted goals at least not in Google Analytics, isn't it?
Its been a week now, but tracking has started yesterday only. Required step added the same day I created Goals and funnel.
Please check the first image in Question. that one is admin section screen shot.
This is only Goal which I've created as an experiment. I need to create several other goals as well.
Could you please be specific with what exactly you need from me?
PFA the other possible screen shot for your perusal
Thanks,
Hi,
Just a few days back I had the similar query. Instead of making changes to your keyword list. You should try to promote your website locally. Try submitting your website into local directories, list your website in Google Local, create a G+ page.
Before finalizing your keywords, do some research with http://www.google.com/insights/search. Google Insight for search can give you an idea if people add Calgary while searching for your products/services
Also request your customers to leave genuine comments/reviews (Do not spam) on your listings at various local directories, google listing
Please see the attached image. Can anyone please explain the attached image.
Goal Overview tab says 8 Goals.
but in the attached image says, 3 visitors finished, I've even set the required step as well, so it is also not possible to goal might have completed from any other page.
Thanks
I am trying to track goals in Google Analytics for a website that has the same goal URL for main website and various sub-domains. The main domain for example is: mymaindomain.com and the sub-domain are my1st.subdomain.com, my2nd.subdomain.com, etc. but the Goal URL is same for all the sub-domains and main domain, i.e. mymaindomains.com/pay/thanks.html. I have Google Analytics configured to track domains and all sub-domains and I’ve already setup the goal for each sub-domain and even created the funnel as well for each sub-domain. However, in goal tracking, it always shows “0”.
I am also looking forward to get some help to set up an advanced filter so I can see traffic to my sub-domains in Analytics.
Thanks!
Personally I would suggest not to outsource Link Building. However, there is no harm in outsourcing linking provided they build links manually/naturally without using only ethical ways.
Do not allow them build links via exchanging links with other directories. 99% of the companies claim to build one way links but they're involved in three way link schemes, which search engines can now track easily.
The best way for acquiring natural one way links is develop links by :
Hope this hellps
though guest post, articles, PRs are the best way to develop natural/one way links. However as you're not technical enough to deal with this issue. So, you may want try with comments, social sharing (Google+, FB, Twitter, etc.).
Start tagging your pages with top bookmarking website (Do Not Spam) with relevant/informative description, which I guess, can be taken from website itself, but don't forget to rephrase or you'll be penalized for dup content issue.
Start participating on the blogs/forums of the same nature, this way you can also develop some technical knowledge and gradually can start writing your own articles, blogposts.
Well, looking at the scenario you have mentioned doesn't show anywhere that slashes are that cause of low search engine ranking. in-fact slashes doesn't even play any role in search engine position.
You need to strengthen your inner pages by acquiring some quality one way links (Do not purchase links), build link manually and gradually with the help of articles, PRs, guest posts, comments, blogging, etc.
You may want to PM me the url of your website to look into the real problem.
You must have installed the wordpress on some folder rather than the root of your website.
So if you want to redirect all the traffic form “sample.co.uk” to “sample.co.uk/wp/” then use the following codes on the .htaccess file on the root (sample.co.uk/)
<ifmodule mod_rewrite.c="">RewriteEngine On
RewriteRule ^$ /wp/ [R=301]</ifmodule>
OR
RewriteEngine on
RewriteRule ^([/]+)$ wp/$1 [L,R=301]
OR
RedirectMatch permanent ^/$ http://sample.co.uk/wp
Although I will recommend to use the 1st one.
No, it'll not be counted as backlink.
This is how Google crawls 303 redirects:
website example1.com 303 redirects to website example2.com, search result in search engines would be:
Title: Page Title example2.com
URI: example1.com
Meta Description: Meta description example2.com
So it is confirmed that the 303 redirect does not pass link juice, so it would not even be counted as a backlink
To answer you query I need to understand the significance of 0-1.
Though as per my understanding/experience
URL structure should always be meaningful, like:
domain.com/ Products/ main category / sub category / product name / model number
OR
domain.com/ service/ category/ service name.html
OR
domain.com/ Manufacturers/ Products/ product category/ sub category/ product name/ model number
Hope this helps
Google generally do not recommend to run multiple websites for same purpose and on top of that interlink sites to each other (kind of grey hat technique). However, if all of your websites have some value/authority in the eyes of Google, you may want run all the websites separately, if not you can simply 301 the other domains to your main website.
IMO, there is no point in maintaining multiple domains for single purpose, as it needs lot of efforts and investment to maintain and market websites. Rather you should concentrate on single website and put all your efforts and investment in one website only. it will give you more benefit.
Well, you're right. now people on twitter have started using fake account to spam, especially in SEO, real estate, make money, work from home industries. Facebook has 83 million fake accounts too.
@Mashable, an account with close to 3 million followers have about 12% fake followers
But still there is no way to get rid of it. As far generating more followers is concerned you have the answer. "follow others to gain more followers only real, influential people, use #tags and engage with other peoples tweets. real people"
Off beat. There is one tool which can keep you updated about your fake and inactive followers: http://fakers.statuspeople.com/ and http://www.tweepi.com can help you to get rid out of these fake followers.
Hope this helps
Have you submitted the xml sitemap in bing webmaster tool? If not do it right now.
Generally people don't bother about Yahoo! and Bing, but we can't forget that Bing and Yahoo still occupies the 2nd and 3rd spot when it comes to search engines.
It is not possible to see the campaign with separate details. Even if they have their own details, still they shall not be able to see the campaigns created by you.
They would have to create their own campaigns by their own account.
But I really liked this idea. @SEOMoz should add this functionality, so that we could grant access to our team members/clients and also define the roles while creating users.
What say people ?
Hi Nuroa,
You could use rel=Canonical tab, this code help you in telling Google which page to count.
You can also use rel="canonical" and "rel=prev/next" together for pagination problem. You can simply use rel=prev/next with the base URLs, and then rel-canonical to the page level.
Besides, this post can give you more idea about this issue: http://www.seomoz.org/q/avoiding-duplicate-content-in-e-commerce-product-search-sorting-results
I hope this helps
Hi Moosa,
Good to hear from you, but could you please tell me that what is Google EEUU?
What is this Google EEUU?? I've only heard about <cite>google.eu.com</cite>
Meta keywords doesn't harm your website in any which ways, though it doesn't even help you in gaining rankings in Search Engines,
Matt Cutts says "It's possible that Google could use this information in the future, but it's unlikely. Google has ignored the keywords meta tag for years and currently we see no need to change that policy."
However, there are other search engines and directories that use the keyword meta tag. For example, Yahoo! still uses it
Best solutions for this is 301 redirect. If you don't need those page any further, you can simply delete those files from server and can redirect all the old/deleted pages to the new relevant pages with the help of .HTACCESS file or server side redirection (if you're not comfortable with the .htaccess coding)
You just need to enter the following code in .htaccess file:
Redirect 301 /old/oldpage.htm http://www.domain.com/newpage.htm(new page)
Once done, make sure to update your sitemaps (HTML, XML and TXT)
Hope this helps!
I am sorry but your query doesn't make any sense. Could you please elaborate your question further, so that we could assist you better.
Hi Priti,
If your website is CMS driven, then can take help of your programmers to automatically fetch title and description from the content for each page.
But make sure to have unique meta data for each page, as each page will have different information so would have different headings as well.
Meta data plays a major role in asking people to click on your website while they are searching for product/services you offer. You title/Description must be manually crafted and appealing enough to force people to click on your website
Besides, if you think that those pages are not important or less important and would really not help you in generating traffic/ qualified traffic so you may choose to block those pages with the help of Robots.txt.
Besides, in case case of static HTML site you don't have much scope you will have manually update all the pages or block with robots.txt.
Hope it helps
Nofollow links do not have any direct effect on the SERPs, but it certainly helps in diversifying your link portfolio and and earn some value in the eyes of Google ( As Google wants a natural link portfolio. So, they want to see a site having both do follow and no follow links).
Also, don't try associate links only with search engine ranking. If your links are placed on some good blog/sites on prominent areas, those links shall be treated as a positive vote and would also increase your referral traffic.
Besides, you cannot do all the things in just one go, but you'll have to select a few activities to start with and gradually can increase the no of activities.
You can start with Guest Blogging, Q & A, Community Participation and Web 2.0 Submissions. This way you get a chance to showcase your expertise and build credibility among your customer/ potential customers.
One of the most common SEO issues with Magento is dynamic filter pages being indexed by search engines. These filter pages are ultimately duplicate versions of category pages (with different products) with a dynamic query string attached to the end of the URL. We've created a Magento SEO plugin which can help eliminate this issue, but I'll talk about this in more detail later on in the post.

Hi,
Canonical tag is only required if the search engines are able to access both the pages. There is no need to apply canonical tag as long as the duplicate pages are being redirected to the new/original page.
As you've specifically mentioned to Google that these page do not exist anymore and I've created a new page for all these pages, and now you want your visitors/search engines to visit the new page which doesn't have any duplicate entry.
Canonical tag only works if you're running a
If you're sure that after 301 redirect there will not be any duplicate entry for the page, you don't need to apply canonical tag.
Hope it helps
Hi eXia,
Yes, you shall again have to apply for the reconsideration. But before applying, make sure clean your overall link profile. You should only have natural links (or should appear as natural, which Google can't detect).
Once you're sure that there are no thin quality, unnatural links, you can again apply for reconsideration.
Hi,
While asking question or responding to any query, you can see a "+Add Image or Video URLs" link at the bottom of the box.
Though, seomoz do no accept the images directly so first you can upload those image at some url for e.g. yourwebsite.com./seomozquestion/images/query.jpg or you can also upload those images at imgur.com and can add that URL.
Hope it helps.
Is there any way to search for best local keywords for my local salon business, in NSW (Australia)
I tried searching for keywords using Google adwords keywords tool by selecting country as Australia but again there is no way to find keywords for a specific area or few cities in NSW
H,
IMO you can simply disallow the URL with robots.txt. There is no other alternative for this.

Hi Mariam,
Thanks for the detailed response. Yes, the highlighted one is my website. But my question is something else.
I asked that initially I used to rank well in Local results and were getting really good response (in terms of business), but suddenly my local listings have been replaced by organic Search Results. My website has started ranking organically on most of my local keywords, and my business is going down. I really don't want organic rankings, I would want to get my local listings back.
Could you please advice me on how to get my local listings back. I've already been doing, whatever you mentioned in your response.
I look forward to your response.
Regards
Hi,
Right now, my website appears in top 5 results in organic SERPs, but I noticed that my business has gradually started going down, as my local results have been replaced by organic search results.
Initially I used to rank in local results, but now, I appear in organic results so the no. of calls/day have decreased significantly.
Now, I again want to appear in local search results instead of organic results. Please advice what should I do to remove my listing from organic search results and improve position in local search results
PFA the screenshots for both the results for your better understanding.
I look forward to hearing from you.
