How Succesful?
Hi All, How would you identify how succesful you have been to date when link building and trying to improve rank? I have been running a campaign for a client that I think has been going pretty well. However, I would now like to show this but I am finding it hard to explain in my first report. Its only been around two months and the client is use to looking at google analytics for their information but I wondered if someone might be able to give me an idea of what I should include in my report intially. I dont want to swamp with information so really want to be specific if possible. Domain Authority: 29 now 28 Domain Moz Rank: 3.30 now 3.98 Domain Moz Trust: 3.47 now 3.76 Total Links: 3,053 now 6,123 Ext. Followed Links: 2,995 now 378 (hoping someone might be able to explain this also!) Linking Root Domains: 21 now 28 Followed Linking Root Domains: 18 now 26 Linking C Blocks: 16 now 22 Are these poor results or are they clear signs of progress? I guess I want to end up with a report saying some key point and giving some information on the above results, why the changes have happend etc. Obviously I would like to continue and up the link building but would appreciate some feedback from others as to whether the time has been wasted 🙂 (i dont think it has incidentally but proving it might be another issue) Thanks all

Keywords
Hi All, If I had a site about a cartoon character (for example). When I add keywords to the 'keywords' meta tag, would I be best to put specific phrases such as Cartoon Character, Cartoon Character on TV, Cartoon Character on Television or would the following have the same effect: Cartoon Character, Tv, Movie, Television I was wondering if having the above instance might be less effective as the search engines might read TV, Movie, Television as less relevant to Cartoon Character. Hope that makes sense! 🙂

Twitter followers and link campaigns
Hi All, This may be a silly question but I like to ask the obvious 🙂 If i had acround 3,000 twitter followers and wanted to embark on a link campaign, would it be wise to simply tweet out to all and essentially say, please link to my site XXXX or would it be better to select individual followers and email them directly? I was wondering if its just a 'win win' with tweeting followers or whether poor links from some users might cause more harm than good. Thanks all

Correct use of Canonical link vs 301 redirect
Hi All, Seeking yet more advice. SEOMOZ tools have told me I have duplicate content on one of my sites and I am keen to clean this up. I am not to familiar with the following so thought I would ask. The duplicate content is shown on : www.mysite.com www.mysite.com/index.html Obviously I only see index.html when I check the code so what is the best method of resolving the duplicate content, Canonical or 301? Can you give me an example 🙂 Thanks all

Google Analytics - Long keywords
Hi All, Question for you Google Analytics pros. In the keywords section of my account I see the various words that have been used to find my site. The top entry shows a big long line of text from my site and I wondered why this appears on the keywords. e.g Lets say I had "Today I went to the shops and bought a football" In the keywords I would normally expect to see 'football', 'shops' etc but instead I am actually seeing things like " went to the shops and bought a football". What causing this? Thanks all

Www vs non www and understanding opensite
Hi Guys, New guy here with some questions regarding the difference between www and non www. I am helping with a site at the moment and gradually working my way through bits and learning all the time. I was watching one of the seomoz videos and it brought my attention back to www vs non www. I understand that google will treat these as two seperate sites but wanted to check what the stats are telling me. I was under the impression that www.mydummysite.com was getting most links etc as this is what I have always used. However when I used Opensite explorer it told me something different as follows: www.mydummysite.com 32/100 29/100 5 16 mydummysite.com 32/100 29/100 2 1,500 Am i correct in saying that i should be adding a redirect from www.mydummysite.com to mydummysite.com ???? I am thinking that this is telling me that I am potentially missing out on 1,500 links to my site but it could mean I am missing out on just 16. Eitherway I guess its something I should fix right? Do I just redirect that page or would all pages beneith it such as mydummysite.com/news also need redirect??? Can i use Canonical Rel links for this now? Thanks for taking the time to read and reply! 🙂
