Page content length...does it matter?
As I begin developing my website's content, does it matter how long or short the actual text found in the is? I heard someone say before "a minimum of 250 words", but is that true? If so, what is the maximum length I should use?

RE: Brand new website, should I nofollow almost all internal links?
You mean, as long as each link is its own keyword, but doesn't repeat the keyword from the homepage?

RE: Brand new website, should I nofollow almost all internal links?
Well, I plan on having my internal links so that the visitors can go from one page to the next from any page. The layout of the website is rather simple. It will be a home page and 5 supporting pages as of now. So, each page would have a total of 6 internal links if they were followed. Is that okay or would it matter if I just made the home page the only followed link?

Brand new website, should I nofollow almost all internal links?
Hi,
As I am creating a completely new website for my employer (she will have zero incoming links, even the URL will be different), would it be advantageous to allow follows to the other internal pages from the home page, but disallow follows on all other internal links on each subsequent page?
So, for example each page will have this many internal links:
Home page: 5 (all 5 service pages)
Recruiting: 1 (home link)
Services: 1 (home link)
Talent Assessment: 1 (home link)
etc.
Does this make sense to bolster the home page until we can get some links coming in?

RE: How keywords per page to keep from being "spammy"?
As this website is brand spanking new..should I just allow the homepage to follow the subsequent pages (each service's page) but on all of the services' actually pages "nofollow" each internal link?
The way I am thinking is...this will allow Google to crawl the 4-5 service pages from the homepage, but it will save me a little bit of link juice (when I start building) and allow the homepage to be more highly ranked.

How Does Google differentiate a keyword you are optimizing for and a non-keyword?
So, let's say that my company is called John's Business Consulting and I offer outsourced HR work (recruiting, evaluating, personality assessments, background checks).
So for my home page I want "Business Consulting" to be my keyword that I want to rank for. But "recruiting services", "talent development" are all words that describe a service that I offer and could potential be keywords, how do I get Google to not dilute my authority for "business consulting"?

RE: How keywords per page to keep from being "spammy"?
Should I nofollow all of the other internal inks? Also, do you mean to avoid using the keyword in the body if I use it in the alt and title tags?

How keywords per page to keep from being "spammy"?
Hi all,
I am currently doing a marketing internship for a B2B company that does all sorts of out-sourced recruiting work.
I have some experience with SEO, but not completely confident.
My first question is, I know Google sees websites that load up on keywords as "spammy", so what is the appropriate number of keywords per page?
Currently, I was thinking about this setup:
1 keyword for the URL
1 keyword per alt tag (1 per page, at most)
2 keywords per each title tag (approximately 4 pages that I am going to follow internally, not following the "about us" page). After that, I was thinking of adding 2-3 more keywords in each meta description and 2-3 in the body copy.
That would equate to 6-8 keywords on each page, is this too many and should keywords be repeated (on the same page or across multiple pages)?
Since this website is brand new (zero links), would it make sense to nofollow all of the internal links so that they homepage can gain ranking as quickly as possible within Google?
