@TechTumble you seem quite negative and obstructive about the whole thing to be honest. People are giving their opinions, if you just looking for people to agree with you you're unlikely to find them in the Moz.com forums.

RE: Is Moz really usefull?
You can't just rely on On-Page as the above chap said - it'll need a healthy mixture of content, social and the like to increase rankings - just changing on-page won't mean you'll go up rankings. Plus you have to take into account competition, alrogitim changes and fluctuations on top of seasonal and industry changes.
I'd recommend using Moz's other tools to identify opportunities

RE: Heatmaps
Thanks Tom, I'll give those a go! I'm trying to avoid a paid one, did see Crazy Egg which looked like the best so far!

Where can I find out influential blogs?
Is there a site or app that can identify popular bloggers? I've heard of one before but can't remember the name!
This is just to help with a content and backlinking strategy!
Thanks in advance all! Alex

RE: Homepage SEO: Does Text Content Help Traffic?
As long as it's relevant, targeted and with the user in mind (ie, non-spammy and stuffing) then absolutely. Remember that search engines want to deliver high quality results to users, so the more likely it is your site is going to deliver that the higher you'll get.
Try to bear in mind placement of the text to (beyond folds etc) and along with the whole UX of it.

RE: Spammy page titles
Try to keep Google's ethos in mind, sites should be meant for humans. I'd look to rewrite those titles on the basis of what is right for the user, not what is attempting to gain traction through search engines.
For instance, "Discount Vitamix Blender. Best deal in Australia. Buy online from <my business="" name="">." could become "Discounted Vitamix Blender, we provide the best deals in Australia - <business name="">".</business></my>
I wouldn't say the example titles you've given are stuffed (read 'spammy') but if you're site is full of them you'll probably get penalised. Try introducing some standard, human-only titles.
Hope this helps

Looks like your connection to Moz was lost, please wait while we try to reconnect.
