New page titles not updating in Google results even though recrawlled
-
I have updated the page title of a website - it's a top product page and very high authority (64 PA on a 63 DA). The page has been recrawlled and the cache updated - but the page tiltle in the Google snippet is still the same. Any ideas?
-
Yeah I've seen the SERT articles. Though I've actually discovered that it was being caused by what I was searching. When I found the page via the product name, the title displayed as "Product Name - Company Name" - but when I searched for the keywords I've optimized for, they appeared in the title as desired. Didn't know Google did that... do now!
-
Google is also known to choose their own title to display and disregard your title. Search Engine Roundtable has reported on that multiple times now, and I've seen many reports in here too.
-
The brand name - either 'deep freeze' or 'anti executable'. I think it might just take some time for the index to fully update. I've upped the crawl rate on the site - hopefully if gbot hits more often it will update quicker.
Thanks!
-
yeah I see the same as you, but what I'm seeing is normal. I've seen it take weeks to update the actual page title in Google's index, etc. Did you get your info as to when it was last crawled from Webmaster Tools?
-
Woops - on mobile.
http://www.faronics.com/enterprise/deep-freeze
Old: Deep Freeze Enterprise
New: System Restore Software - Award Winning Protection | Faronics Deep Freeze
http://www.faronics.com/enterprise/anti-executable
Old: Anti-Executable Enterprise - Faronics
New: Application Whilelisting and Application Control | Faronics Anti-Executable
Only recrawled today - perhaps it just hasn't updated yet? Just strange that cache and snippet don't match.
Thanks!!
-
what search query are you googling when you see the wrong title
-
Also www.faronics.com/enterprise/anti-executable/
Check the google result for that page versus the actual page title - quite strange.

need the old and new page titles...
-
-
hey Chris - what is the page URL? I can search it on my end and see if its updated to the new title. Sometimes cache (even when cleared) can be pretty stubborn. You many not be seeing what everyone else is seeing.
Also let me know what the old and new page titles are...

Why Are Some Pages On A New Domain Not Being Indexed?
Background: A company I am working with recently consolidated content from several existing domains into one new domain. Each of the old domains focused on a vertical and each had a number of product pages and a number of blog pages; these are now in directories on the new domain. For example, what was www.verticaldomainone.com/products/productname is now www.newdomain.com/verticalone/products/product name and the blog posts have moved from www.verticaldomaintwo.com/blog/blogpost to www.newdomain.com/verticaltwo/blog/blogpost. Many of those pages used to rank in the SERPs but they now do not. Investigation so far: Looking at Search Console's crawl stats most of the product pages and blog posts do not appear to be being indexed. This is confirmed by using the site: search modifier, which only returns a couple of products and a couple of blog posts in each vertical. Those pages are not the same as the pages with backlinks pointing directly at them. I've investigated the obvious points without success so far: There are a couple of issues with 301s that I am working with them to rectify but I have checked all pages on the old site and most redirects are in place and working There is currently no HTML or XML sitemap for the new site (this will be put in place soon) but I don't think this is an issue since a few products are being indexed and appearing in SERPs Search Console is returning no crawl errors, manual penalties, or anything else adverse Every product page is linked to from the /course page for the relevant vertical through a followed link. None of the pages have a noindex tag on them and the robots.txt allows all crawlers to access all pages One thing to note is that the site is build using react.js, so all content is within app.js. However this does not appear to affect pages higher up the navigation trees like the /vertical/products pages or the home page. So the question is: "Why might product and blog pages not be indexed on the new domain when they were previously and what can I do about it?"

Google Search Results and Trailing Slash
I noticed that when I search a page; Google is returning my search results without a trailing slashing. I have my site setup to adding a trailing slash and redirect to one if it is not. So http://www.oxygenconcentratorstore.com/inogen-one-g3 redirects to site:http://www.oxygenconcentratorstore.com/inogen-one-g3/ I just did a search for site:http://www.oxygenconcentratorstore.com/inogen-one-g3/ and the only result is the non-trailing version. See attached. All internal links and sitemap include a trailing slash. Should I be concerned about this?? I am concerned that it could be hurting my search results. Any help or feedback would be awesome. trailingslash.jpg

Diagnostics say I'm missing Page titles... but I am not?
I've been running a crawl of one of our new site builds for a couple of weeks. The Diagnostics picked up a couple of issues, which was great, but it's saying we're missing Page Titles and Descriptions on pages that we have Page Titles and Descriptions. Anyone come across this before?
