How to determine the correct number of ad units post-Panda
-
What guidelines are you using to determine the correct number of ad units? Also is it number of units per page or the size of the ads (visually)?
Any additional guidance or links you can point me to regarding ads in a post-Panda world would be helpful.
-
Ah, when you said ad units, I assumed you mean AdSense. In terms of non G ads, I run 4 per page with no issues. You could probably stretch this to 6 though.
-
This applies to Adsense, but can you verify that it also applies for organic traffic?
-
Im amazed that nobody commented on this. You may post up to 3 AdUnits per page. As long as you follow the rest of the guidlines, you should have no problems. I have a couple of adsense sites that do just fine as long as I follow the rules
"You may place up to three link units on a page, in addition to the three standard ad units, and two search boxes. Just make sure the page complies with our program policies. "
Hope this helps,

Adding Video to Landing Pages-Beneficial SEO Effect in Terms of Links & Visitor Engagement?
I run a New York City commercial real estate in New York City. Lately, I have started to produce 30-second videos about property listings and neighborhoods. I have noticed that the engagement for these videos on Facebook is much higher that for text posts. Should adding these videos on our website (hosting them on Youtube) result in increased visitor engagement? Could there be a positive SEO effect such as more links and higher quality links? Anyone have any experience with this? Thanks, Alan

Google Panda question Category Pages on e-commerce site
Dear Mates, Could you check this category page of our e-commerce site: http://tinyurl.com/zqjalng and give me your opinion about, this is a Panda safe page or not? Actually I have this as NOINDEX preventing any Panda hit, but I'm in doubt. My Question is "Can I index this page again in peace?" Thank you Clay

Can a website be punished by panda if content scrapers have duplicated content?
I've noticed recently that a number of content scrapers are linking to one of our websites and have the duplicate content on their web pages. Can content scrapers affect the original website's ranking? I'm concerned that having duplicated content, even if hosted by scrapers, could be a bad signal to Google. What are the best ways to prevent this happening? I'd really appreciate any help as I can't find the answer online!

Large number of pages crawled.
My campaign for printlabelandmail.com says that seomoz has crawled 619 pages. My site, however, only has a little over 250 pages. Where are these extra pages? I did recently relaunched my website with wordpress. I was using Dreamweaver before. I thought I deleted all the old pages. Could these extra pages be old pages from the site prior to my relaunch? I hope my question makes sense. Any insights would be helpful. Thanks! Andrea

Keywords repetition in both post/page title+url path or spread between both of them?
Hello all, I have one doubt concernig SEO optimization as I am buiding the structure of my website to be sound with the Keywords I am targeting: I have read that the post/page name is very important (selecting the right keywords you are targeting and the lenght) and also the url path name, taking into account both keywords+lengt. I still have the doubt if (Imagine I am considering 5 keywords for SEO.): 1) OPTION 1 I should use as far as it is possible, the 5 keywords in the post/page title and repeat the 5 same keywords in the url path name? OR 2) OPTION 2 I should use these 5 keywords spread between title and url path? I mean maybe I use 3 keywords in the post/page name and 2 keywords in the url path, but my main concern is as search engines gives more weight in SEO for post/page name rather than to the url path name, maybe I will miss 2 of the keywords I used in the url path name? My choice would be OPTION 2 as I can have: Shorter post/page name - Shorter url path name. More caracters for targeting the keywords: 75 (from post/page name) + 115 (from url path name). I avoid repetition of keywords in both title and url path. Thank you very much, Antonio

Any ideas for capturing keywords that your client rejects because they aren't politically correct?
Here's the scenario: you need to capture a search phrase that is very widely used in common search, but the term is considered antiquated, overly vernacular, insensitive or outright offensive within the client's industry. In this case, searchers overwhelmingly look for "nursing homes," but the term has too many negative connotations to the client's customers, so they won't use it on-page. Some obvious thoughts are to build IBLs or write an op-ed/blog series about why the term is offensive. Any other ideas?
