HTTP Compression -- Any potential issues with doing this?

We are thinking about turning on the IIS-6 HTTP Compression to help with page load times. Has anyone had any issues with doing this, particularly from an SEO or site functionality standpoint? We just want to double check before we take this step and see if there are any potential pitfalls we may not be aware of. Everything we've read seems to indicate it can only yield positive results.
Any thoughts, advice, comments would be appreciated.

I am aware that IE6 is old and many sites have dropped support for it. It's usage will vary by market. If the fix required 10 minutes of your time, you wouldn't do that for 1% or more of your potential customers?
If you have any Chinese users for instance, you'd want to make it work. Or if you're targeting people who are less tech-savvy or older in age, your IE6 usage numbers are bound to be higher. I agree that for most sites, it's probably not a huge issue. Since I experienced it on our site, I thought I'd mention it. If there is an issue, there is also likely a published fix that would require minimal effort.

You do realize that Microsoft has been trying to kill IE6 off, and just recently celebrated IE6 usage in the US dropping below 1%, right?
I wouldn't consider IE6 in your business plans.

Once you implement it, I'd check is that Internet Explorer 6 likes it. I can't remember the details, but when we added compression on our site, there were instances where IE6 didn't like it.

According to Google's Webmaster blog, Googlebot supports gzip and deflate
Googlebot: Sure. All major search engines and web browsers support gzip compression for content to save bandwidth. Other entries that you might see here include "x-gzip" (the same as "gzip"), "deflate" (which we also support), and "identity" (none).An incompatible compression would be the only downside to turning on compression.

Indexing Issue of Dynamic Pages
Hi All, I have a query for which i am struggling to find out the answer. I unable to retrieve URL using "site:" query on Google SERP. However, when i enter the direct URL or with "info:" query then a snippet appears. I am not able to understand why google is not showing URL with "site:" query. Whether the page is indexed or not? Or it's soon going to be deindexed. Secondly, I would like to mention that this is a dynamic URL. The index file which we are using to generate this URL is not available to Google Bot. For instance, There are two different URL's. http://www.abc.com/browse/ --- It's a parent page.

Google unable to crawl index file of browse page as it is unable to run independently until some value will get passed in the parameter and is not indexed by Google. Product page url included in the product category page: /product/acura-integra-cv-axle-shaft-90-01-honda-civic/ The way I see my situation is that the product page is considered by Google as an intern link and not as a page included in in the subfolder of the category page. 1. Am I right?

Magento Rewrite Issue
Moz's Crawler has thrown up a bunch of crawl issue for my site.The site is a magento based site and I recently updated the themes so some routes may have have become redundant. Moz has identified 289 pages with Temporary Redirect. I thought magento managed the redirects if I set the "Auto-redirect to Base URL" to Yes(301 Moved permanently). But this is enabled on my store and I still get the errors. The only thing I could think of was to add a Robots.txt and handle the redirection of these links from here. But handling redirection for 289 links is no mean task. I was looking for any ideas that could fix this without me manually doing this .

Homepage indexation issue
Hello all, I've been scratching my head about this one for a while now... Let me explain the situation. I'm working on a multi-lingual website. Visitors are redirected (301) when they visit the homepage to the correct domain.com/en/default.html, domain.com/nl/default.html, domain.com/fr/default.html or domain.com/de/default.html based on browser language. I have doubts about the impact on the ability for Google to index the website because of that, but that's a problem for another day. The problem I'm having right now, is that domain.com/nl/default.html, domain.com/de/default.html and domain.com/fr/default.html are all indexed. When I search for the URL in Google I get the correct page on number one so I'm pretty sure those are indexed correctly. When I search for domain/en/default.html though, the homepage appears without /en/default.html extension. Does this mean Google assumes the domain.com page is the same as domain.com/en/default.html even though the redirect that's in place? Would be great if someone could shed some light on this. Duplicate Content Issue: Google/Moz Crawler recognize Chinese?
Hi! I am using Wordpress multisite and my Chinese version of the website is in www.mysite.com/cn Problem: I keep getting duplicate content errors within www.mysite.com/cn (NOT between www.mysite.com and www.mysite.com/cn) I have downloaded and checked the SEOmoz report and duplicate_page_content list in CSV file. I have no idea why it says they have the same content., they have nothing in common in content . www.mysite.com is the English version of the website,and the structure is the same for www.mysite.com/cn *I don't have any duplicate content issues within www.mysite.com Question: Does google Crawler properly recognizes chinese content??

Duplicate content issue index.html vs non index.html
Hi I have an issue. In my client's profile, I found that the "index.html" are mostly authoritative than non "index.html", and I found that www. version is more authoritative than non www. The problem is that I find the opposite situation where non "index.html" are more authoritative than "index.html" or non www more authoritative than www. My logic would tell me to still redirect the non"index.html" to "index.html". Am I right? and in the case I find the opposite happening, does it matter if I still redirect the non"index.html" to "index.html"? The same question for www vs non www versions? Thank you
