Title tag discrepancy - is this a Yoast or SEOMoz thing?

Just took on a WP site using Yoast - need help understanding the title tag. SEOMoz reports that the HP title tag is 159 characters, but there are only 60 characters entered in the plug-in field and GWT reports no "too long" title tags. Is this a Yoast thing?

The ones saying it's long are including the site name. So in the WP plug-in, you're only typing in your title -- Best Blog Post Ever -- but how it's displayed is -- Best Blog Post Ever | Example.com -- and that's what the SEOmoz tool is picking up as your entire title tag.

How long do changes in title tags take to affect SEO?
This is kind of a loaded question. I'm completely new to SEO. I think my boss signed up for Moz Pro sometime in February and started adding data to our Ecommerce site to help with rankings. Sometime before this, I changed some of the title tags on the site (trying to help with organic search and CTR). I did not do a site wide change.... just changed maybe 10-20 (just a guess). I did it with keywords in mind but did not make note of when I did it. I didn't really know better at the time, and I did not have access to Google Analytics or Moz Pro. I was looking through the ranking data/graph for February and March. It won't let me look before February 29th (so that's why I think my boss started the Mos Pro subscription around at that time). On that day it said we ranked 12 keywords in the 1-3 spot, and then the following week (march 7) it went down to 6. I don't think or know if any major site changes were implemented, so I'm not sure why that happened and if it has anything to do with my title tag changes I did maybe a week or two before (again I am not sure when I did this unfortunately). Since then the keyword ranking numbers stayed about the same with organic traffic slowly going down (it could be because we are getting out of season for our industry though). The second week of March the site was upgraded and since then the menu has been completely changed around. Last week I did a site wide title tag change. So the minor changes I made in February are no longer in effect anyway. I added more keywords to Moz earlier this week and the number for 1-3 spot keywords went up from 6 to 20. It also says my ranking moved up 4 keywords and down 13 keywords. Anyway, I am wondering how seriously I should take these changes and if I'm damaging the site. I am new to Moz Pro also so all the data you can access is kind of confusing/overwhelming.

In Crawl Diagnostics, length of title element is incorrect
Hey all, It appears the Moz crawler is misreading the number of characters in my website's page titles. It shows 72 characters for the following page's title element: http://giavan.com/products/orange-crystal-chain-necklace-with-drop The page title for this web page is: Orange Crystal Chain Necklace with Drop | Giavan which is 48 characters. As it stands, this page title is displayed at 48 characters in Google SERPs. I am getting "This Element is Too Long" issue on 925 pages, which is just about the entire site. These issues appeared after I added additional Shopify (Liquid) code to the page title. If you inspect the code, you will see title element looks a bit odd with extra spacing and line breaks. What I'd like to know is whether or not it's necessary to rewrite the Shopify code, for SEM purposes. My feeling is that it's okay because the page titles look fine in SERPs but those 925 Moz crawl errors are kind of scary. Thanks for your help!

I have couple of questions and really appriciate if you can help me to understand SEOmoz. better. First of all, what is the difference between SEOmoz Pro and Mozscape API? I signed up for 30days free trial and now continue being $99 PROmember.
Is that correct that rate limit is one request every 2 seconds with PRO? and also want to know about free API that I found after signed up for PRO.
Is there any restrictions on free API except for rate limit is one request every 10 seconds? The main reason I signed up for SEOmoz was to use the API link metrics, and because of the language I got really confused now.0 -
Question #3) My last question has to do with Some SEOmoz crawl diagnostics -
I recently fixed (or well, I am asking to make sure that this was the right thing to do in my first question posted a few minutes ago), a problem where all of my internal main sidebar category pages were linking using https://, which to my knowledge means SECURE pages. anyways, OSE, and google seem to be not recognizing the link juice. but my rank fell for one of my main keywords by 2 positions about a week after i made the fix to have the pages be indexable. Making my pages properly linked can't be a bad thing right? That's what I said. So I looked deeper, and my crawl diagnostics reports showed a MASSIVE reduction in warnings (about 3,000 301 redirects were removed by changing the https:// to http:// because all the secure pages were re-directing to http:// regular structure) and an INCREASE, in Duplicate Page Titles, and Temporary redirects... Could that have been the reason the rank dropped? I think I am going to fix all the Duplicate Page Title problems tonight, but still, I am a little confused as to why such a major fix didn't help and appeared to hurt me. I feel like it hurt the rank, not because of what I did, but because what I did caused a few extra re-directs, and opened the doors for the search engine to discover more pages that had problems (which could have triggered an algo that says hey, these people have to much duplicate problems) Any thoughts will be GREATLY appreciated thumbed, thanked, and marked as best answers! Why does SEOMoz only crawl 1 page of my site?

Seomoz shows issue with canconical
Hi When I use the on-page research tool seomoz tells me I have an issue with the rel canconical tag pointing to the wrong url, but I have it set so that on this particular page it points to itself (as per recommendation from seomoz) full url is http://www.growingyourownveg.com/how-to-grow/garlic.html in head section i have <base href="http://www.growingyourownveg.com/"> Have I got this wrong? Google and Bing appear to accept it OK Thanks

Do you know if there is an problem with the rank Tracker on SEOmoz
My rank tracker is stating that I am not in the top 50 for my keyword which is auto insurance fremont ca. I check on bing and yahoo and i am listed as #2. Also on Google it states that my rank has gone down by 2 place but I acutally increase one from spot 12 to spot 11. Is anyone else having the same issue??
