Domain authority and rankings?
-
I have a site that sits in #1 position for its keywords right now. But it only got there about 1mth ago. The site is only about 6mths old with lots of link building. I check the domain authority and its only 37/100 with the #2, #3 sites having domain authority of 57 and 82 respectively.
This site has like 800+ backlinks. While the #2 and #3 sites have 20,000+ backlinks.
Does it mean that my site will LIKELY drop in rankings very soon? I know there is no certainty but wld you say that it is highly probable my site will drop?

Full SERPS report give you the following for each of the top 10 entries in the SERPS:
Page Authority, mozRank, moxTrust, mT/mR, Total Links, External Links, Followed Links, No-Followed Links, Linking Root Domains, On-Page Analysis Grade, Broad Keyword Usage in Title, Broad Keyword Usage in Document, Keyword Used in URL, KW in Domain, KW Exact Match, Exact Anchor Text Links, % Links w/ Exact Anchor Text, %Linking Root Domains w/ Exact Anchor Text, Partial Anchor Text Links, % Links w/ Particl anchor Text, Partial Anchor Text Root Doms. % linking Root Domains w/ Partial Anchor Text, Domain Authority, Domain mozRank, Domain mozTrust, DmT/DmR, External Links to this domain, Linking Root Domains to this domain, Linking C-Blocks Domains to this doman, Tweets, FB Shares and Google Plus One Shares!
This will give you a much broader picture of the current state of play.
If you're looking to purchase this domain, then I'd ask questions about what you're planning to do with it? Changing the content / structure etc will potentially cause changes in the SERPS. I'd certainly want to have a better understanding of why the site is ranking in the position it is.
Why are you purchasing the domain?
I wouldn't purchase a domain just based on the ranking position. I'd want to know how much traffic (in total) the domain gets and how much traffic the core keywords get. I don't know if you're in a position to request this information.

What will the full SERP report tell me?
But to be honest, the situation is actually i'm considering purchasing this site that sites on #1. I'm just very concerned about its sustainability as #1 and whether it is worth the investment.
I know that there are tons of other factors affecting ranking.
But i guess i just wanted some feedbacks from experienced SEO guys in the field what their sensing is concerning this site's ranking and whether their best guess is it will drop or cld likely hold on to its position for awhiie.
This is a bet i gotta take, but i'm really quite unsure abt the odds....

Hi James. I think it might be worth taking a slightly broader view when assessing the competition. Remember that it's not just your link profile/authority that's causing your to rank at your current position, but also other factors such as the relevance and freshness of your content.
You've got PRO access, so I'd recommend starting with a FULL SERP report in the Keyword Analysis tool. It'll cost you one of your 50 monthly credits, but will give you a fuller view.
Given the backlinks / authority numbers you've stated I wouldn't be surprised if you slip down the rankings, but without knowing the full picture it's hard to say.
What I would say is that I wouldn't recommend that you stop link building because you're at the top of the rankings. A drop in your link acquisition rate could be seen as a signal that your content is less popular/relevant.
Can you give us details of the keywords and your site?
Hope this helps.

Page ranked then disappeared
Recently there have been a a couple of pages form my website that ranked well, in top 5 for a couple of days then they disappear suddenly, they are not at all seen in google search results no matter how narrow I search for them. I checked my search console, there seems to be no issues with the page, but when I check google analytics, I do not get any data from that page since the day it disappeared, and it does not even show up on the 'active pages' section no matter I keep the url open in multiple computers.

Using one domain for email and another domain for your website, but redirects...
Hello - We are rebranding and our new name is fairly lengthy. We own all main domain versions of our brand name - .com, .new and .org - There is a very high search volume for the new brand name as it is a merger of 2 popular existing brands so want to take advantage of that and use our full name within our website domain name. However, since the name is a little long as mentioned - 25 characters - we also own the 3 character acronym of the new brand so we are debating on using the acronym for our new email addresses. ie name@abc.com so it is user friendly. We would obviously redirect the acronym email domain to point to the longer website domain. Are there any negative SEO effects if we do that? Use the longer domain for the website and shorter acronym for our email? Thank you

Site Redesign - Regaining Rankings
We just finished designing a whole new site that will hopefully convert better than our previous site and we are currently coding it. We are hoping to get the site out in the next month or two (or three!). We want to know what to expect in regard to our sales from SEO. If you successfully launched a site redesign and your conversion rate improved, can you answer this question? How long will it take for my rankings to regain their initial ranking and then hopefully rank even higher?

Will This Domain Change Hurt
I have a potential client that is looking to change their domain for branding reasons, but does not want to lose their solid SERP position. I'm not concerned about links continuing to pass juice as he was (though I am concerned about the link profile). What I am concerned about is domain age (moving from a 4 year old domain to one that has just been parked for 4 years but not used, or one that is currently just a redirect to his site), and the fact that his current URL is an EMD. He is using his state (only really does work there), plus two solid keywords in the domain, and wants to switch to brand name with one of the two solid keywords he was using. My initial thought is "if it's not broke, don't fix it." How worried should I be about rankings if we change this domain. Thanks for the help, and fire back any questions. Sorry I'm a little vague.

Wrong Page Ranking
Higher-level page with more power getting pushed out by weaker page in the SERPs for an important keyword. I don't care about losing the weaker page. Should I: 404 the weaker page and wait for Google to (hopefully) replace it with the stronger page? 301 the weaker page to the stronger page? NOTE: Due to poor communication between content team and myself, the weak and strong pages have similar title tags (i.e, "lawsuits" and "litigation")

Domain redirect seo
Hello, my domain www.pacomarca.com and when i start the new campaing i get this pronblem: We have detected that the domain www.pacomarca.com and the domain pacomarca.com both respond to web requests and do not redirect. Having two "twin" domains that both resolve forces them to battle for SERP positions, making your SEO efforts less effective. We suggest redirecting one, then entering the other here. my domain is in networksolutions.com. how can i resolve it? many thanks Gonzalo
