Google Sand boxed?
-
Since early March I have been slowing moving up the SERP for my site http://amplereviews.com/. At around the end of March I have reached the top 5 rankings for every keyword I had targeted. Maybe a week or so later the keywords I have been targeting disappeared from the rankings. Now I am here today stuck in the ~600s for at least 2 weeks. So have I been sand boxed? And If so what should I do?
PS. My rankings on Yahoo and Bing are still in their usual range.
Domain is 3 months old.

Hi Blaze,
the first sensation I have, but I urge you to not take it as it was a definitive answer, is that your site has suffered a Panda penalization.
What makes me think so, it's the extremely high presence of ads above the fold. And if this is quite evident for me with a screen resolution of 1920*1080 pixels, if you reduce to a more standard resolution, it is totally true.
For instance, take this post: http://amplereviews.com/hcg-ultra-diet-drops/
Well... the first bar from the left is all for ads, the second bar - then - has another ad block under the "Recent Posts" widget. Finally, the body have:
- An Ad Block just under the Title of the post;
- A second Ad Block almost at the middle of the post
- at least a couple of what seem being affiliate links
In a 1024*769 screen resolution (still the most popular), what can be defined as real "not advertsiment" content is reduced to a couple of lines...
Surely, this "ad pollution" is not enough to justify a Panda update penalty, but it is a strong Panda factor as it is well explained in these posts by Danny Sullivan and Adam Audette.
Said that, I tested with tools.pingdom.com the upload speed of your site, as I was founding it slow. And it is very slow indeed: almost 60'' to completely render in a browser page! I would check out if that is a template issue or an hosting one. Page Speed is one the ranking factors, even though not one of the top ranking factors.
Then, I found out a weird thing. If I click on a tag (for instance "hgc ultra diet drops") I'm not taken to the tag page (http://amplereviews.com/tag/hcg-ultra-diet-drops/) but to a totally different page (http://amplereviews.com/rushfit-review/), as if there was a 301 or 302 acting. Remember that filling a site of internal redirections is not the best way of treating Googlebot, as you are obliging it in spend more time than the needed to crawl your site, and this can consume the so called "budget crawl" with the result that your site may end with indexation issues.
Finally, I would also look at the nature of the domains linking to you (148 unique domains names accordingly to MajesticSEO, zero for OSE, which has not crawled it yet... ) Are they quality links, or for poor quality sites?

Google Algorithm non-manual penalty. How do we fix this (quality?) drop?
Hi, See attached image. We received a non-manual penalty on March 22, 2015. I don't think we ever came out of it. We have moved up due to the Penguin update, but we should (by DA PA) be up on the first page for tons of stuff and most keyword are lower than their true strength. What kind of quality errors could be causing this? I assume it was a quality update. I am working on the errors, but don't see anything that would be so severe as to be penalized. What errors/quality problems am I looking for? We have tons of unique content. Good backlinks. Good design. Good user experience except for some products. Again, what am I looking for? Thanks. non-manual-penalty.png

Malicious links on our site indexed by Google but only visible to bots
We've been suffering from some very nasty black hat seo. In Google's index, our pages show external links to various pharmaceutical websites, but our actual live pages don't show them. It seems as though only certain user-agents see the malicious links. Setting up Screaming Frog SEO crawler using the Googlebot user agent also sees the malicious links. Any idea what could have caused this or how this can be stopped? We scanned all files on our webserver and couldn't find any of malicious links. We've changed our FTP and CMS passwords, is there anything else we can do? Thanks in advance!

Thumbtack Blatantly Violating Google TOS?
Hi, We have a business registered on Thumbtack so we receive their newsletters. I'm aware that review sites offering a "badge" or verification logo which links back to your profile is nothing new. But the email I received from Thumbtack is a fairly blatant attempt to game Google for popular keywords. I was just curious on your thoughts about this. I believe it was Overstock who did something like this and got slapped by Google pretty hard for a while. Could Thumbtack be heading down the same path? Image: http://i.imgur.com/FWPnmEP.jpg

Dynamic Content Boxes: how to use them without get Duplicate Content Penalty?
Hi everybody, I am starting a project with a travelling website which has some standard category pages like Last Minute, Offers, Destinations, Vacations, Fly + Hotel. Every category has inside a lot of destinations with relative landing pages which will be like: Last Minute New York, Last Minute Paris, Offers New York, Offers Paris, etc. My question is: I am trying to simplify my job thinking about writing some dynamic content boxes for Last Minute, Offers and the other categories, changing only the destination city (Rome, Paris, New York, etc) repeated X types in X different combinations inside the content box. In this way I would simplify a lot my content writing for the principal generic landing pages of each category but I'm worried about getting penalized for Duplicate Content. Do you think my solution could work? If not, what is your suggestion? Is there a rule for categorize a content as duplicate (for example number of same words in a row, ...)? Thanks in advance for your help! A.

Google places VS position one ranking above the places.
Hi Guys, Will creating a new Google places listing for a business have any effect their current position one spot for their major geo location keyword? I.e restaurants perth - say they are ranking no 1 above all the places listings if they set up a places listing would they lose that position and merge with all the other places accounts? Or would they have that listing as well as the places listing? I have been advised it could be detrimental to set up the places account if this is the case does anyone know any ways around this issue as the business really needs a places page for google maps etc. Appreciate some guidance Thanks. BC

Can you set up a Google Local account under a PO Box?
I have a client that wants a Google local listing in a town he serves but does not have a physical location. Is it an issue to share an address with an existing company? Is is it better to use a P.O. Box? or is there a forwarding address company? Is this considered a black hat Local SEO tactic?
