Domain Authority and nofollow links?

Hello,
I'm wondering, are 'nofollow' links from websites with high domain authority beneficial? Would they boost our own DA?
In essence, I'm wondering if there is added value (other than visitors clicking the link) to being linked to by a 'nofollow' link.

Yep, having a natural link profile is what it is all about. No follow and follow links, social media links, text and website links, forum and blog links. It's all comes together in the link graph overall, as a whole - and allows the search engines to calculate.
No follows, don't actually pass any 'juice' on a link level, but having these signals allows search engines to calculate the nofollow into the variable, and give weight in itself.
It's a wonderful thing

NoFollow links are highly beneficial, if you take Rand Fishkin's point of view (which I'd strongly recommend).
Basically a NoFollow link comes from forums, comments and other online activity which shows that not only are you purely trying to build backlinks, you're actively participating in the community.
Obviously Follow are essential for your SEO "juice", but a combination of NoFollows shows that you're not only fetching for rankings, your website actually has relevance to the wider community. You may not get a direct 1:1 benefit like a Follow link, but Google can still see the DA and PA that a NoFollow is coming from, and can index that just as readily (even if it is in a completely different way).
P.S. This is a somewhat contested opinion, so I'd add the disclaimer that this is what I think.

I've ran a back link check and discovered a good back link to a site which then gets redirected back to my company's website. I have a feeling that an old SEO agency has purchased a small website which has a decent link back from a relevant organisation with a high Domain authority and then redirects the domain to our website to get the link juice. What are your thought on this? Is this really bad practise and possibly damaging? Thanks, Jim0 -
Does LinkedIn Pulse Backlinks add to domain authority?

Why is my domain authority so low?
Hello, a couple of years ago I started publishing on my site more than 10 posts a day of content that no one else had. For this reason, my competitors started paraphrasing my content without giving proper attribution, and they ranked better in Google. That's why I realized that apart from creating content I had to work on my SEO, so I started to get some backlinks, most of them via contests on blogs. I am getting about 1 high quality link from PR2, PR3 or PR4 blogs each week. According to Open Site Explorer, I have 20 root domain links (200 total links). In reality I have more backlinks but they don't show up (they do show up in Ahrefs, about 50 root domains). To my surprise, I only have 15 Domain Authority. This is the most evident example, take a look at this screenshot: http://imgur.com/dFk2rkx My website is on the far left, two of my competitors on the right. As you can see I win every category except total links and the most important, domain authority. Are total links that important for Domain authority, even if 99% are internal? By the way, I also have more posts than these guys, I don't know why the report says otherwise. Why is the site on the right ranking so high? The same thing happens with the rest of my competitors, they have a lot of low quality links from "lists of domain sites" and in general a lot of very spammy links. According to what I have been reading, my good quality links should be more helpful than my competitors' spammy links, which should in fact affect them. So what is going on? A link with "return false"- OSE sees as a No Followed Link
Hello, I couldn't find a clear answer to the impact on SEO for a link written in this way: [" class="expert_info" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">](w</span>ww.yourwebsite.com<span style=) [Does the "return false" act as a "no follow"? I came across this in our link data in Open Site Explorer which lists these links all as "no follows." However, an engineer I spoke to said that it shouldn't impact search engine behavior. Any ideas? Building Links to Exact Match Domains
What are the pros and cons having exact match domain and how can you create a brand name and build backlinks? Say we have a domain personalizedbirthdaygifts.com We are quite stuck with what anchor text we need to use and how do we vary it? I've heard that we have to stay away from using commercial keywords as anchor text heavily. We have to also use our brand name. And here we get stuck as we don't have a brand name. In this case Our brand name should be personalized birthday gifts but this is also commercial keyword. I have seen before similar websites droped from ranking because they have commercial keywords in their domain and most of their backlink anchor texts are commercial. If I had a website called twentyfive.com selling birthday gifts it would be a lot easier. But when you have a website personalizedbirthdaygifts.com and trying to rank for personalized birthday gifts and birthday gifts it's tough. OR isn't it?
