Help with getting no conversions
-
Ok, so let me give you the breakdown here. So I have recently optimized this product and am trying to focus on getting this product to sell a couple times a week before I move onto the next product with SEO. Google has not updated my title and description yet to see if my SEO has been even somewhat successful, so I am waiting on that. While I have been waiting, I started a PPC campaign. I would say over the last 7 days I have had about 250 visitors to this page, however, none of them resulted in any questions about the product, no account signups, no orders that are incomplete and worst of all, No Sales. Here is a copy of the add.
RC Nitro Truck 60MPH $219Buy Now Remote Control Nitro RC Truck. Redcat Racing Volcano S30 60 MPHwww.rcnitroshop.com
Can someone look at the page and tell me if it looks fishy or if there is a reason you would not buy from this page? Any advice would be appreciated. Also, if you notice any critical SEO errors that would also help! I ran the on-page optimization through SEOMOZ and i got a letter grade of an A with everything 100%. Thanks in advance. I have been working 5-10 hours a day on this website and on eBay and would love for it to actually pay off someday lol. The links to the page are in that add above. Just click on that to take a look.

No it isn't, not really.
It's still not an open source platform which means you can't make any customisations to the code and you're limited to what the pre-built ecommerce templates they provide have to offer - and looking at a demo of theirs, the way the platform is built, is still far from good.
It's similar to 3dCart in this sense. It's self hosted meaning there are various fees for data transfer, limitations on quantity of products etc etc.
Our recommendations for both an open source platform and self hosted solution are as follows:-
Open Source: Magento - We're worked with pretty much every open source ecommerce platform there is, we've had issues and nightmares with most of them - very few are flexible and bug free however after 6 years of expertise in the ecommerce sector, I would recommend Magento every time (if it fits with your ecommerce requirements). It's free open source, very extendable, anything is possible and can be customised - all you need is a decent developer / agency that knows the software inside out. We generally charge anything from £1200 / $1900 ish for a Magento build depending on specifications (as an idea of costs).
Self Hosted: Liquidshop - If you want a solution that is fully looked after for you, managed, hosted, with a support department you can just contact when you require to action anything on your ecommerce website, then by an absolute country mile, I would recommend Liquidshop by Sitemakers (based in the UK). Monthly fees are involved (as with any self hosted solution) and may prove to be a bit steeper than others on the market but you get what you pay for, they are at the forefront of consistent development, well coded, well optimised, clean and correctly coded platform stacked with tons of features.
Ultimately, it comes down to budget and requirements, but these recommendations would be based on our experience within ecommerce - and we've worked with most providers.

Do you know if Volusion is a better option than 3DCart? I noticed a lot of other competitors using Volusion.

Hi Bill,
I did just type out a long response to you but it got lost when I posted the message, I think because the message I was replying to was deleted as a duplicate.
In short though, I described how the current template is better from a design perspective but all the issues are still apparent though. I checked out a product page form a 3dCart demo store and the issues are there too. The software is not open source either so unfortunately you're limited with their poor design / development whilst you host your store with them - just one of the many issues with hosted ecommerce solutions.
All you can really do is ensure page copy is clean, tidy and optimised along with ensuring page titles are unique, descriptive and optimised (required on the page in question).
We're actually building an RC Model ecommerce shop for a new client in the UK from within the next month or so if you would be interested in checking it out when it goes live.

I changed the template to something that leaves a lot less white space. Does this look any better? There is not to many templates to pick from with 3DCart. I might end up having to have someone build me a site that looks better.

The design of the website / product pages are poor and would be unlikely to convert well due to the layout and presentation of the information.
Just a redesign of the page would make a significant improvement to onsite behaviour I would expect.
A few points include:-
Conversions
- Design is not fluid.
- Too much whitespace.
- Everything just appears in one wide column, needs to be split into easily digestible sections with call to actions.
- There is nothing catching my attention and no existing call to actions.
- Ask yourself - Why should people buy from you?
Optimisation
- Page contains stacks of CSS / junk type tags from MS Word
- Majority of page is built with tables rather than external CSS and DIVS.
Competition
- Are your prices competitive?
- How does your website compare against your competition?
- What can you take away from your competitors websites / business model?
Analytics
Have you analysed the data you have to learn:-
- Where visitors are leaving your website.
- Whether they are viewing any other pages other than the landing page.
- Are the pages driving the traffic the most relevant for the queries / referrals?
Overall, the website doesn't install trust in the consumer, this on it's own, won't necessarily produce a non-converting website but coupled with various other onsite factors, it's not going to prove overly successful.
Often, many ecommerce stores make very initial poor choices choosing poor ecommerce providers / solutions and this can lead to more design/development and conversion optimisation / SEO later down the line.
Hopefully that has been of some help to you though.

Lead Conversion on Facebook
Hi Mozzers, We are currently running FB ads and I am wondering if I should rely on the facebook lead conversion metric https://cl.ly/412f1j1a021I. I tend to rely heavily on Google Analytics for this kind of data(by adding goals). Of course GA doesn't not show as much conversions as Facebook does. So which platform should I be relying on for conversion metrics? Thanks for letting me know!

AdWords/Analytics Paid Search conversions not matching up - any idea why?
Hi all, Any ideas as to why AdWords and Analytics are showing different Paid Search conversion numbers for me when I check on a daily basis? Both accounts are linked, they share the same destination URLs to trigger a conversion, some days each reflects the same amount of conversions, then some days it's anything from 1-5 conversions different (Analytics is always the one to show more). Thanks M

Will PPC elsewhere on my domain help my organic SEO?
I have an e-commerce site with a small product line which an on-going organic SEO campaign. As a side project, I'm planning on doing some PPC testing with a highly converting product squeeze page, which I'll run Google ads to gain traffic. (this is PPC only and for this page I am not concerned with organic SEO traffic - although of course the page itself will be fully optimized). I am wondering whether to run this squeeze page on a sub-domain or sub-directory of the existing site, OR to host it on a completely fresh domain? I would like to know if as side-effect my existing Website benefit 'organically' from some of the PPC traffic, helping with it's domain authority, etc.,? or could this possibly do any harm? p.s. Bear in mind this is not going to be a page visible on the on the main site itself, it's a separate entity for PPC. Would be great to have some expert Moz eyes on this and opinions. Thanks!

Does anyone else get a crazy amount of misdials to your AdWords call extension?
Not sure how many people here also do PPC, but I thought it couldn't hurt to ask. Since we added a call extension to one of our AdWords campaigns a few months ago, we have gotten a crazy amount of misdials/wrong numbers. I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this. Here's what happens: We choose one of the numbers we own, say 888-123-4567, and set it up so it displays ADWORDS on the phone's screen when it rings. This way, our customer service and sales reps will know when they are taking an AdWords call. We type that number into the call extension settings. AdWords then assigns a different number to us, which will appear on our ads and forward to our number. Say it's 888-234-5678. Then for months, every "ADWORDS" call we get is someone trying to reach a different company at 888-234-5679 or 888-235-5678. In other words, the number they're trying to dial is one digit off from the number AdWords assigned to us. When we first reported this to AdWords before Christmas, they simply assigned us a new number. It did not help. Now we just get misdials for different companies. So are we alone in this wrong-number phenomenon?

Google Adwords Conversion Tracking - Recording Wrong Page
Hi Guys I have a problem with my Google Adwords conversion tracking. Basically whenever I check to see which page it is recording, it shows me the incorrect one. Now I probably checked a thousand time now and the conversion tracking code is not on this specific page, but is on the one that I really want to track. I have also checked that the code is correct and that there is nothing missing. But strangely enough when I look at historical data, it does show that is was tracking conversions on the correct page, but for some reason the past couple of weeks it's reporting conversions from another page, which is the incorrect one. If somebody could please give me some insight as to what could maybe be the cause of this, I would appreciate it. Thank You Dave

I need monthly SEO help!
Hello, I'm new here, but a HUGE fan of SEOmoz and their working principles. I need someone who would have the same regard for SEOmoz and a healthy respect for safe SEO principles to help me with my monthly clients. Is this the place to post about my need or should I take it to the jobs area? Thanks in advance for your guidance.
