Pages Getting Deindexed
-
My Question Is I have 16 pages on my site that were all indexed until yesterday now there are only 3 indexed. I tried resubmitting my site map, and when i did it was the same result as before 3 pages indexed and 13 pages deindexed.
I was wondering if someone could explain to me why this is happening and what I can do to fix it? Keep in mind my site is almost three months old, and this has happened before but, it fixed itself over time thanks.

Okay thank you so, much for your great insights I will certainly look into it thanks once again.

Hi Peter - having a quick look at your backlink profile it would appear that they are all no followed so they are not passing any link juice - essentially worthless in the eyes of the search engines in terms of increasing your domain and page authority. I would really work on building a decent internal link structure - some proper navigation that is the same on each page, with relevant anchor text for your internal menu links. I would also set to work on building up your link profile and start looking for some relevant links that don't have no follows on them so that you start having some link juice passed to your site. If you go about this properly you should find that your page index issues will go away.
Also look for high quality links be careful with blog and forum comments as these are spammy and hold little to no value in terms of links and link juice. Ini the post penguin world I would also be careful not to over do your anchor text from external links.
Hope this helps...

Thanks for your response Matt this is my back link profile http://www.opensiteexplorer.org/links?site=www.peterrota.com
My traffic has gone down since this happened but, today I checked GWT and 13 of my 16 pages are now reindexed. I have a external links if anything. I need to add something so, if someone on a subpage they can get back to the home page because their is no way of dong that unless they type in my url. The only reason its like that is im working on a logo which when clicked on it will direct back to the main page.

my link profile is here http://www.opensiteexplorer.org/links?site=www.peterrota.com
the only thing I can think that has happened to cause it is. I blog commented on this one site on one article, and on each page it shows recent comments and it has my link on every page because of that it. So, bascially my site link is on 70 pages or so and growing. With the same anchor text which is "Peter Rota" which I think may be causing the problem even though all these links are no follow
PS I checked GWT today and now 13 of 16 pages have been indexed thanks

I would say, "I don't care" (to myself, not you!) and work on building authority to the site with links. Give Google a reason to trust each page. Honestly, there are so many reasons this could have happened speculation is just not worth the effort (eg. content duplicated off-site, throughout the site, reused title tags, lack of trust, etc.).
Just curious, what does your link profile look like right now?

I have seen this happen when sites new sites initially submit a sitemap for a new site most of the pages are indexed. However over time this drops and is usually down to the perceived value of the pages that are no longer indexed. Are these pages thin on content? Do they have any external links pointing to them? Do you have a good internal link structure between all your pages? A new site is more vulnerable to index fluctuations due to factors such as this and the fact that they are likely to have low domain and page authority. I would suggest you look at the factors mentioned above and also make sure you have all the on-page factors covered; making sure they are unique. If no of the above, the other times I have experienced a sudden drop in pages indexed has been when a new enhancement has caused page load to decrease? What has your traffic levels been like since this change – up, down or constant?

Best practice to preserve the link juice to internal pages from expired domain?
This question relates to setting up an expired domain, that already has quality links, including deep links to internal pages. Since the new site structure will be different, what's the best practice to preserve the link juice to these internal pages? Export all the internal pages linked to using majestic Seo/ ahrefs etc, and set these pages previously linked to? Or 301 redirect these pages to home page? I heard there's a Wordpress plugin that 301 redirects all the 404 errors successfully preserving all the potential link juice.

Google is giving one of my competitors a quasi page 1 monopoly, how can I complain?
Hi, When you search for "business plan software" on google.co.uk, 7 of the 11 first results are results from 1 company selling 2 products, see below: #1. Government site (related to "business plan" but not to "business plan software")
White Hat / Black Hat SEO | | tbps
#2. Product 1 from Palo Alto Software (livePlan)
#3. bplan.co.uk: content site of Palo Alto Software (relevant to "business plan" but only relevant to "business plan software" because it is featuring and linking to their Product 1 and Product 2 sites)
#4. Same site as #3 but different url
#5. Palo Alto Software Product 2 (Business Plan Pro) page on Palo Alto Software .co.uk corporate site
#6. Same result as #5 but different url (the features page)
#7. Palo Alto Software Product 2 (Business Plan Pro) local site
#8, #9 and #10 are ok
#11. Same as #3 but the .com version instead of the .co.uk This seems wrong to me as it creates an illusion of choice for the customer (especially because they use different sites) whereas in reality the results are showcasing only 2 products. Only 1 of Palo Alto Software's competitors is present on page 1 of the search results (the rest of them are on page 2 and page 3). Did some of you experience a similar issue in a different sector? What would be the best way to point it out to Google? Thanks in advance Guillaume0 -
Starting every page title with the keyword
I've read everywhere that it's vital to get your target keyword to the front of the title that you're writing up. Taking into account that Google likes things looking natural I wanted to check if my writing title's like this for example: "Photographers Miami- Find the right Equipment and Accessories" ..Repeated for every page (maybe a page on photography in miami, one on videography in Orlando etc) is a smart way to write titles or if by clearly stacking keywords at the front of every title won't be as beneficial as other ways of doing it?

My ranking dropped 3 pages on 18 november 2012
Hi There my site ranking dropped suddenly today for my main keywords such as security companies in london and security services in london from first page to 4th-5th page. these keywords were ranked on homepage http://www.armstrongsecurity.co.uk/ other keywords from some internal pages, such as this one http://www.armstrongsecurity.co.uk/security-services/event-security-london.html theygot hit slightly and went couple of listings down the road for event security london, event security companies london as well. same slight hitting happened on this page for main keywords http://www.armstrongsecurity.co.uk/bodyguard-for-hire-london.html can anyone help me, how to get the rankings back? my site authority is around 60 which is far better than most sites ranking higher than me now. these are some problems that i understand so far. keyword rich anchor text link profile for my main keywords over optimised pages let me know if anything you might find suspicious on my site that i can fix either on site or in my link profile. looking forward to your help. thanks gill

Google Results Pages. after the bomb
So, ever since Google "went nuclear" a few weeks ago I have seen major fluctuations in search engine results pages. Basically what I am seeing is a settling down and RE-inclusion of some of my web properties. Basically I had a client affected by the hack job initially, but about a week later I not only saw my original ranking restored but a litany of other long tails appeared. I wasn't using any shady link techniques but did have considerable article distribution that MAY have connected me inadvertently to some of the "bad neighborhoods." The website itself is a great site with original relevant content, so if it is possible, Google definitely recognized some error in their destructive ranking adjustment and is making good on it for those sites that did not deserve the penalty. Alternatively, it could just be random Google reordering and I got lucky. What are your experiences with the updates?

Herbal Viagra page same DA/PA as UC Berkeley??
Either there is some amazingly good SEO work going on here, or Google has an amazingly large hole in their metrics. http://nottowait.com/ http://www.ucdavis.edu/index.html The "nottowait" page has a PA of 85?! and a DA of 82?! The page is HORRIBLE. The page itself is an image of another page. The nav bar does not function, nor does any of the "click here" links. At the bottom there is a paragraph of keywords and broken english. This page is pure junk and should simply not have any value at all with respect to DA nor PA. It has a ton of incoming links from various sources which seem to be the source of all this value, which it passes on to other pages. This page really is an affront to the "content is king" concept. I suppose I should ask a question but all I can think of is, what is Matt Cutts' phone number? I want to ask him how this page has gotten away with being ranked so well for so long.

Influence of users' comments on a page (on-page SEO)
Do you think when Google crawls your page, it "monitors" comments updates to use this as a ranking factor? If Google is looking for social signs, looking for comments updates might be a social sign as well (ok a lot easier to manipulate, but still social). thx
