What SeoMoz tools should I use to track the sucess of my SEO efforts and find possible linking partners?
-
HI All,
I am a new user to SEO moz pro and I have a few questions I hope you can help me with.
We are adding a new product category to an existing site and I am wondering what tools to use to track our SEO efforts to build ranking for these new products.
I have already started a campaign that tracks the ranking of our primary keywords but I am wondering if there are other tools I should be using as well.
Currently our SEO strategy is centered around link building. I have been approaching sites that have content related to our products and offering to write articles, guest blogs, and create educational resources that benefit the sites users and have specific anchor text linking back to our site.
Since we are trying to build rank for a new category of products should I be linking to the general product category page or should I try to link to sub categories or individual products?
Also I have used the juicy link finder to help me identify related sites that I can approach but I haven't received very many good leads. Is there a more specific way to use the tool or another tool that I should try?
If you have any suggestions about other SEO strategies/activities that we should be pursuing please share your ideas!
Thanks!

There are two great posts in SEOmoz itself that I found very useful;
and
Both use the tools within SEOmoz itself and will help you mine for link candidates more widely, and then analyse and target the links you want to gain in depth.
With respect to which pages to link to, using the above tools will enable you to link with a wider variety of anchor text to specific pages - keeping the relevance as high as possible. Personally I would be inclined to balance between category and product - if you can get a targeted link for a niche phrase to a specific product page - do it, if the domain you are gaining the link from is in your field, but not product specific, go for the category link.

Tools for editorial organizations?
Other than google trends, are there tools a publication could give its writers to help them optimize their articles. Sometimes these articles are very newsy pieces, sometimes they are more evergreen features. In other words, if they're writing a story about the Greek Debt Crisis, I'd love to give them a tool that would suggest the language that is trending most at the moment and then, as the story evolves, identify the language that would be important then. Are there tools to help with this?

Identify business pain points using SEO
Hi, can I use SEO research techniques to identify what kind of services businesses are searching for? Is it possible to find out pain points? I have been using tool like MicroNicheFinder to do such a research but I am not getting any where. Is SEO only used to outrank my competition? Do I need to first know what business I need to be in and then use SEO techniques to research the demand? Do I make sense? You can tell that I am very new at the internet marketing thing. Please let me know. Thanks.

The SEO-Tool onpage.org (german) offers an interesting tool to analyse your text. But there are differences between languages and factors like proximities, synonyms etc. What are your experiences? tools? does mOz develop a tool for this? This would be a nice Feature for the On-Page Grader! best regards,

Does anyone have an SEO strategic plan template for a beginning SEOmoz'r?
I'm fairly new to the SEO world and am going to be creating an SEO strategic plan for my boss (with his help). I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations on a template to use, outline to follow, must have's/don't need, etc. Anything you're willing to share would be greatly appreciated!

NoFollow Links from Subdomain to root domain better than DoFollow Links?
Our service at fotograf.de is a shopsystem for professional photographers. The customers can build their own website with our tool including an onlineshop to sell their pictures. Here is my question: One part of the customers use subdomains of our site like photographers.fotograf.de. On each customer website we include a backlink to our homepage www.fotograf.de. From SEO view is it better to set these links as NoFollow Links? Or should we put one Follow Link on the starting page on each site and on the other pages only NoFollow Link? Are these links bad for our SEO regarding link diversity because they all come from one root domain? Thanks for the answers! Sebastian

My campaign is showing me that I have 7 4XX errors. Is there anyway to see where these pages are linked from in order to remove the links?

Are there any good "geo location" seo tools.
Does anyone know of a good seo tool ( either in seomoz, or another website ) that will allow me to search google from different geo locations. For example, if I wanted to see how my company ranks for the term "computer repair" in redding california and sacramento california.
