-
Hai guys my blog is abt Health related so if i took the backlink from High Pr edu and high pr forum which r not related to health so is it help full or not?
No relevance link from above 6pr is good or harmful for site???
Thanks and waiting for your reply.
-
Keri i got u... I have to build my 60% to 75% to related my Miche and rest of the link from Very good Page and domain Authority.Only Build a link from higher page and domain authority.
Thanks much keri
-
A different way to look at this: If you sat down with one of the engineers on Google's spam team, and you both looked at this page together, would you feel comfortable saying "yes, that's my link"?
-
Thanks irving , only domain authority could not worthy??
so for best link juice we need to chk both page and domain authority right??/
Thanks
-
In this case, I think the toolbar PR6 might be for the hompage of the domain. The URL listed has a PA of 1. It's not a strong individual page itself.
-
If the link is on a clean page that is not spammed and has no chance of being spammed in the future, and also has a low amount of links on the page (both internal and external) than a PR6 link is a great link to get relevant or not. It is still passing the same PR. But don't confuse the homepage being PR6 with the page you are getting a link from as being a PR6 link. The PR has to be on the page, not the domain.
-
On any of the forums I admin, I'd remove that link in a heartbeat.
Before spending more time trying to add links, I'd suggest browsing the Q&A forum here and look at the number of people that are trying to remove low-quality links. The easiest link to remove is the one that you never built. I'd be cautious of finding places where it's too easy to just drop your link. Those are the ones that are unmonitored and going to be the hardest one to remove if you ever get hit for a bad backlink profile. I don't know how your profile does look, but the focus of these posts on building links exclusively, and for ranking rather than any type of converting traffic, is a little worrying.
-
No, stay as on topic as possible - just focus on getting higher quality links. If I understand you correctly, you already have 3k links and still want to improve you ranking. This tells me that you probably have a lot of low-med quality links and you should now focus your attention on getting high authority links.
News sites, authority health blogs, I would participate in health related forums instead of a random edu one, write an educational resource that cites other authoritative websites, contact webmasters in related niches and get backlinks from them, etc. Focus on quality over quantity.
Edit: Yeah, what Keri said. You need great content to get those high authority links you need to get your rankings to the next level. Especially in the uber competitive acne niche.
-
keri we have 500-600 word Original content which review that specific acne product very precisely. ..and we just put the img of 200x200 and give the affiliate link..and one banner at right sidrbar..Thats all we have on that page..
-
What does your content look like? Do you have information out there about Acne that other sites don't have? Do you have a reason for someone to go to your site as opposed to another site?
Here's a great YouMoz we posted (and promoted to the main blog) last week that talks about attracting links rather than building links. Instead of looking for places you can drop a link to your site, have you tried building the content on your site so people will want to link to you?
-
Oleg i really like your answer ..my niche is Acne and i find almost 2k- 3k link but some r not indexed ..after 3k what will i do to increase the authority??so if i go and build the link in different niche that would be ok?
-
According to u , for backlink we have to see first page authority and after the domain authority right??
Domain authority could not help to give some authority to our site?
-
If it's not related, it's not useful. The domain authority is for the site as a whole, not for that teeny tiny section. I have an edu link from Stanford. It's at ldt.stanford.edu/~myusername. The URL has been there since 2001, yet that page still has a page authority of 1 and no metrics, despite the domain authority of Stanford being huge. That subdomain has been having intermittent problems and is not always online, but my ranking does not change with whether that link is online or not.
I wouldn't go for the link. It's just not natural.
-
Shouldn't hurt, just wont be as effective as a link from a relevant topic.
Just throw your link into your signature and participate in the community. Just posting a thread with the url will probably get you banned from the forum.
-
Oleg if i tool the backlink from Pr8 forum with no spam but not a relevance so is it good or not??
My main concern is that forum have 6+pr but its not a my niche relevance so its good to take the backlink??
Thanks
-
Thanks keri for Prompt answer , But the domain Authority is 83 ..page has no authority so still its useful or not?
Chk this url
http://scci.csumain.csu.edu.au/com130/
Thanks
-
Lets put it this way, if you post an unrelated link into a forum and it isn't removed, that is not a link you want.
Un-moderated forums are filled with spam, high pagerank ones even more so. You risk that link hurting your website's rankings.
-
I've seen plenty of spammy EDU pages with 5000 spam comments and link drops. That's going to have no value for Google, and I wouldn't want my link on a page like that. I doubt the page itself has a toolbar pagerank of 6.
If you really want to investigate, look at the page itself in Open Site Explorer and look at our metrics for an idea if the page on which you want the link is trusted. Based on what you said, I wouldn't go for it or I'd get it removed. Can you share the URL here?

How would you build links to this page?
Hi i have ecommerce store and currently we are looking to build links to category pages like: http://www.theiconic.com.au/womens-clothing-dresses-party-dresses/ What are some natural ways to build links to a page like this? Our SEO agency has done guest posting and forums but these are not natural link building methods and against Google policy. Any suggestions on how to build natural links to these pages? Cheers.

Best way to link to 1000 city landing pages from index page in a way that google follows/crawls these links (without building country pages)?
Currently we have direct links to the top 100 country and city landing pages on our index page of the root domain.
Intermediate & Advanced SEO | | lcourse
I would like to add in the index page for each country a link "more cities" which then loads dynamically (without reloading the page and without redirecting to another page) a list with links to all cities in this country.
I do not want to dillute "link juice" to my top 100 country and city landing pages on the index page.
I would still like google to be able to crawl and follow these links to cities that I load dynamically later. In this particular case typical site hiearchy of country pages with links to all cities is not an option. Any recommendations on how best to implement?0 -
If I nofollow outbound external links to minimize link juice loss > is it a good/bad thing?
OK, imagine you have a blog, and you want to make each blog post authoritative so you link out to authority relevant websites for reference. In this case it is two external links per blog post, one to an authority website for reference and one to flickr for photo credit. And one internal link to another part of the website like the buy-now page or a related internal blog post. Now tell me if this is a good or bad idea. What if you nofollow the external links and leave the internal link untouched so all internal links are dofollow. The thinking is this minimizes loss of link juice from external links and keeps it flowing through internal links to pages within the website. Would it be a good idea to lay off the nofollow tag and leave all as do follow? or would this be a good way to link out to authority sites but keep the link juice internal? Your thoughts are welcome. Thanks.

.edu campaign
I have an idea for a very scale-able way to acquire .edu links with actual page authority (ie. not forum spam or student profiles ect...). I will be hiring someone to do in house outreach so the links will be obtained by people talking to people. My question is would Google see this as spam if my link building campaign mainly targets a large number or .edu's and all of a sudden I am receiving a high number of one type of backlink? What worries me is that while I have other types of links, this campaign would dilute a high percentage of my link profile with .edu links from unique domains. I hear that diversity is key but its hard to ignore the high value .edu targets especially when the linking pages are higher in authority than my own. Also the pages that these .edu links are coming from would not necessarily be relevant to my website however the content I am hosting to obtain the links is relevant to the pages the links are coming from. Does this make a difference. Sorry I am being vague. I do not want to give away the strategy. Thank you for any assistance.

My site still out of rank
Hello, I am working on a site for past 3 months, here are the problems with this site, 1. It had a forum full of spam becuase initially captcha was not included, 10000 spam backlinks 2. Affiliate page was also hit by spam about 4000 spam backlinks which were either not existing or porn etc.... 3. Too many internal links which were indexed, these additional links were generated due to tags, ids, filters etc. Existing SEO team decided to remove the forum and after 30 days they blocked it in robots. But within 30 days the site moved from 3rd page to no where. Now after few days lator internal links are also cleaned by putting following in the robots, Dissallow: / *? Dissallow: / *id Dissallow: / *tag Links are now cleaning up, all the spam and bad links are now put into disavow file and sent to google via disavow tool. On daily bases good quality links are been produced such as through content, article submission, profile linking, Bookmarks etc. The site is still not any where on top 50 results. The impressions are decreasing, traffic also do not rise as much. How do you see all this situation. What do you suggest and how long do you think it will take to return to top 10 when good linking is being done and all preventive measures are being taken. I would appreciate any feedback on it. Thank you. Site URL: http://www.creativethemes.net keywords: magento themes, magento templates

Do I have any harmful links? If so, what should I do?
URL in question: www.nasserilegal.com/criminal.html I'm using OSE and see some questionable backlinks. At first glance, if you look at the page authority and domain authority, they look great. Once you go to the actual pages, they look spammy. If the links are hurting the rankings for the site, should I try to remove the links manually or just ignore and continue to build good quality links or even build a new site? I noticed for the last couple of weeks, the rankings started to slip. Thanks in Advance, Lucas

Image Links Vs. Text Links, Questions About PR & Anchor Text Value
I am searching for testing results to find out the value of text links versus image links with alt text. Do any of you have testing results that can answer or discuss these questions? If 2 separate pages on the same domain were to have the same Page Authority, same amount of internal and external links and virtually carry the same strength and the location of the image or text link is in the same spot on both pages, in the middle of the body within paragraphs. Would an image link with alt text pass the same amount of Page Authority and PR as a text link? Would an image link with alt text pass the same amount of textual value as a text link? For example, if the alt text on the image on one page said "nike shoes" and the text link on the other page said "nike shoes" would both pass the same value to drive up the rankings of the page for "nike shoes"? Would a link wrapped around an image and text phrase be better than creating 2 links, one around the image and one around the text pointing to the same page? The following questions have to do with when you have an image and text link on a page right next to each other, like when you link a compelling graphic image to a category page and then list a text link underneath it to pass text link value to the linked-to page. If the image link displays before the text link pointing to a page, would first link priority use the alt text and not even apply the anchor text phrase to the linked page? Would it be best to link the image and text phrase together pointing to the product page to decrease the link count on the page, thus allowing for more page rank and page authority to pass to other pages that are being linked to on the page? And would this also pass anchor text value to the link-to page since the link would include an image and text? I know that the questions sound a bit repetitive, so please let me know if you need any further clarification. I'd like to solve these to further look into ways to improve some user experience aspects while optimizing the link strength on each page at the same time. Thanks!
