Does adding your google plus page help stop scrapping
-
I have created a site that has 100 percent original content in my business category. I have written over 100 articles myself that not only to help me rank, but most important to help the use find the right anwser to their search. I didn't farm out not one sentence of any of the content. With that said how do I prevent others from scrapping my site for this info and using it as their own.
1. Is there something to add to each page code wise that will lead them back to my site.
2. Does using the google plus help this situation in that google thinks it's yours and treats the others as duplicate content.
3. I dont mind placing this info on other sites as long as the readers know its mine.
Sorry to ask such a noob question but I have spent all my time on the content and really know nothing about the coding side of things.
Any help would be great.
thanks

Hello Jason,
Scrapers can always remove your G+ profile image and link, but if you add it to all of your articles and your site has your own profile page and you link the G+ profile to your own profile page, at least google will know that you are real and you are claiming ownership of the content.
It is too soon to tell if this is the answer, but it is what google says and it is what we are doing.
Here is a short video I made to explain how to do it.

Google+ Best Practice
I have a client company looking to make use of G+ The company has a high quality, decent traffic blog with articles written by 4 in-house team members. The company has a G+ company page and each of the 4 blog authors has their own G+ profile. None of the G+ authors have any interest in using their G+ profile for general social reasons - simply as a means for sharing content (and consuming content from others) within the scope of the business sector they are in. In order to take advantage of G+ authorship, we have now linked each user to their own G+ profile page (using Yoast WP plugin) and linked the website to the G+ company page. Rel=publisher also added for the company. In terms of best practice would you recommend sharing new blog posts to the individual's G+ profile page AND to the G+ company page or just do one or the other? As a final twist the company also has a G+ Local page which is primarily used for local search/map entry (the company is online but has a physical office address). Should articles also be posted to the G+ Local page?

Counting unique landing pages in Google Analytics: social vs organic channels
Remember the technique Rand posted for counting the unique indexed landing pages on a site? http://moz.com/blog/indexation-for-seo-real-numbers-in-5-easy-steps I'm using Google Analytics to compare this result for the "social" channel vs. the "organic search" channel. The idea is to see whether social or search delivers people to more unique landing pages. I would expect organic search to yield a significantly higher count, due to long tail searches for relatively obscure terms. We have an archive of over 500k pages that Google could be indexing, even if only a fraction of a percent of those might be getting social mentions. But that's not what the numbers show -- I'm seeing roughly 10% higher numbers for the Social channel than for Organic Search. Again, I'm counting unique landing pages here, not the total pageviews or visits. If anyone else here is monitoring these metrics, please chime in with your results. What's the baseline expectation for a large website with hundreds of thousands of pages of issue-centric user-generated content? Should search traffic provide 2x more landing page exposures than social? 5x? 10x? or 0.9x, as in my case? In short, I believe these numbers are pointing to an indexing/ranking problem following a recent site redesign.

Google+ Is this listing Claimed or Not?
I'm working on a dentist website. I logged in using their gmail account. I then searched for the practice name with the city and state then found their listing. I clicked on the link that has the Google reviews and it brought me to their Google+ page. If I click on Manage this page, it takes me to my client Google places dashboard page where I can edit some information.... even though I am having a hard time uploading images. Getting a "Cannot upload images at this time" Error The weird thing is that if I hit the browser back button and then Manage this page again, it takes me to the page where I can claim the business. I click on the blue link that says "If you own this place, claim it and edit it directly", I get a message that says "You may only access listings that you own. If you created this listing with a different Google Account, please log into that account and try again. If you've deleted this listing, you may create it again in Google Places Any clues on what is going on? Please see images attached. iyonJ.jpg Zqe7K.jpg

How do I use Google+ as a page?
A couple of weeks ago I created a Google+ page for my website and you can see the page here: https://plus.google.com/u/0/101532714567190382783/posts?hl=en I was logged in to my account when I did so. I'm now ready to start posting on my page and I cannot for the life of me figure out how. I've tried everything I can find to update that page as the page, but I cannot use Google+ as the page. I have no idea how to post anything. Please help!

Google+ and its effects on SERPs
Hi all, With the recent launch of Google+ I've looked into the possible effects of +1'ing sites and whether or not it has a direct effect on other people with whom I'm connected within Google+. So far I cannot see any direct correlation, however I running a bigger/wider experiement with more people to get a definitive answer. What does scare me as an SEO, is that Google+ users will (most likely) use Google search whilst they are logged in, which, as we know personalises results based on a myriad of suspected metrics such as previous visits, personal +1, etc... How is this going to effect the SEO world if/when a Google+ attracts more users. Experienced this first hand when a client called me to congratulate a jump from position 9 on Google to first position over the weekend, which when I checked, the website hadn't shifted, the client was logged into her Google account due to the fact she had been playing with plus. Thoughts? Cheers Aran
