Bing index

Hi Guys,
This is an interesting one. I've recently been looking into Bing and trying to get my company's website ranking for relevant search terms. So I typed in site:www.sparkstone.co.uk and was shocked when only 13 pages were returned.
So I signed up to bing webmaster tools and started submitting URLs manually as well as a sitemap. However i've just gone back to check expecting to see more pages being indexed. Sadly only the homepage has been indexed.
Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks,
Dan

Hi Owen,
Thanks for the replies. I meant 13 pages from my website. It's still only returning one result
Thanks,
Dan

I'm also not completely sure, but you mention 13 pages returned... meaning 13 pages of results, or 13 pages from your site indexed?
Using the site; operator I get 10 pages of results meaning many pages indexed from your site - not just your homepage.
What do you mean by, only your homepage is indexed?

If you are trying to get a feel for indexed pages, I'd use the info provided in Bing webmaster data.
The other thing I find useful is to do an exact phrase match (putting quotes around a phrase from a page) for content to verify that a page is in fact indexed. If you choose a unique phrase, and it does not show up after an exact phrase match, it might not be indexed.
The search engines often show a representation of results when using that advanced operator.

Getting indexed in Google Scholar
Hi all! We have a client who publishes scholarly research as a highly regarded non-profit. Their Publications aren't being indexed in Google Scholar 50% of the time and when they are, Google is pulling random stuff from a PDF vs. from the html page. Any advice on best practices is enormously appreciated

Getting indexed by Google scholar
Often my Google Scholar alerts result in exactly what I think they will: scholarly articles published in academic journals. However, today I got this completely non-scholarly article https://www.t-nation.com/training/the-exact-reps-that-make-you-grow and I have no idea why Google Scholar is indexing this site. I've read up on how to get indexed by Google Scholar, and this website doesn't seem to have the necessary requirements. I'm curious for anyone whose clients or industry need to get indexed by Google Scholar, what has worked for you?

Optimising for Bing?
Hi I'm looking to try improving our positions on Bing - does anyone have any tools that monitor rankings for Bing? Or provide keyword research? Or is it a case of optimise for Google and Bing should follow?

Site "Internal" Search Full-Text Indexing vs. Manual Tagging
I’m looking for recommendations on how to power site search in an efficient way. Ideally, I would like to get recommendations on platforms, tools, trends, technology and resources. This discussion does not really refer to SEO or site search optimization. It is more related to the technology used to power site search. I would like to get an idea on the differences between full-text indexing site search and site search that requires manual tagging.

Is the search volume insight in Bing more accurate as it is in Google?
Does anybody know if Search volume insight in Bing is more accurate than it is in Google?
SERP Trends | | Seeders
Moz is showing Search Volume insight in Bing now (not sure about the reason, probably Moz has no access to Google? Or is it because it is more accurate?)
For some words I have my doubts about the Google Keyword Tool. I don't know about Bing.
For the first time I compare two words on Bing with Google I found out the ratio in Bing is very different compared with Google. Example:
When you check out the words: espressomachine and koffiemachine
**Google, local search in the Netherlands: **
espressomachine: 6600
koffiemachine: 8100
Bing, local search in the Netherlands:
espressomachine: 549
koffiemachine: 361 So..., are Bing users typical kind of users who uses other search phrases?
Or... is one of these two more accurate? Does anybody know?0 -

Bing, what does it take?
Hi there, I have been optimizing my website for Google over the past year or so, and now have around 50 keywords or so, moderate/highly competitive keywords on page 1, however there are a few keywords which I have been trying to optimize for which I am finding it difficult getting these keywords onto page 1. However I just noticed through analytics that I am getting quite a bit of traffic through Bing on these keywords, so I thought I would take a look to see where I was ranking for these keywords and to my surprise top 5 for which these keywords. So the question is, what does it take to rank high in Bing? as my results are so different when comparing my Google results to Bing. Thanks

Does Google index search results pages for other search engines?
I've noticed a lot of backlinks to sites consist of SERPS from other search engines that Google. A link to a query like: http://searcheninge.com/?q=apple for instance. Does Google index these links and do they give any value? Regards, Henrik
