SEO Friendly Calendar System
-
Does anyone have a recommendation for a calendar system that is SEO friendly? I have been using Helios Calendar but the current version lacks proper SEO bones (canonical URLs, mini calendar generates links to empty events from 1950 to 2020, 302 re-directs, and it is generating thousands of crawl errors in Google Webmaster Tools.
The developer has plans to implement some fixes, and I would rather not rip apart what is currently there to fix core issues.
I have found that calendars in general are a nightmare. If anyone has any suggestions, or has experience in tidying up Helios I would be interested.
Thanks,
Dan

I'm really impressed with the Tribe Calendar- I've been using it almost a year for a community run arts initiative Mass Culture and its working out really well. Not only does it look great but in terms of SEO it has he most complete functionality I've yet found. Also the new Geolocation information really assists in local search too.

Just an update, I see that Helios calendar actually fixed most of these issues with their current release. We switched to Tri.be Events Calendar Pro, it was better but the auto delete of past events and auto redirect in the new Helios calendar is very handy, I think I will be switching back.

Were you able to find anything that worked for you? I see reviews of calendar plugins, but nothing talking about the SEO-friendliness of the calendars. The only thing I see related to that is questions other people ask, wanting to know a good recommendation.

Google Calendar?

We are using WordPress. Joomla had similar problems with their calendar but I believe they were solved.
The calendar is being used as a public events calendar which allows for users to submit events for approval, share events etc. I am not sure that the Coffee Cup will suffice.

They MIGHT do the job. Are you by chance using WP or Joomla? Good calendar systems for those out there.

Do subdomains negatively impact SEO
If we want to eliminate one of our domains and consolidate it with our main domain by the subdomain approach, would that negatively impact our SEO? Example: change www.xyz.org to www.xyz.abcd.org, Thanks, in advance, for your feedback.

Does HTTPS Only make a impact on SEO?
Hi. I run a site that's SSL only. (Using a 301 redirect to redirect traffic from http:// to https://). This might be a stupid question but i can't seem to find any conclusive answers to the question by searching. Does this negatively affect the search engine ranking of the site? Regards,

Getting to grips with the technical side of SEO
Hi all, I have been working in online marketing for a while, predominantly working on the affiliate marketing and business development side. Over the last year I have decided to focus my energies on getting to understand SEO and have picked up some actionable tips and strategies to put together an SEO strategy for the business I work for whilst at the same time broadening my skillset in online marketing. I would like to think I now have a good understanding on key areas of the SEO framework such as keyword research, on page optimisation and link building and look to put my learinings into practise as well as continue to play around through my personal blog An area that I see as more and more important so to get a full understanding is the technical side, getting a decent understanding on the learnings of HTML and CSS and putting this into practise. Can anyone recommend a detailed tutorial, powerpoint that provides insights and learnings on how to best understand this side of SEO? Thanks Simon

Ecommerce SEO with 130 keywords
Hello everyone, My name is Davys and I'm what you call a newbie...so the question may sound stupid....But where we go. In this campaign I will be targeting around 130 to 150 keywords to my store. So here is the technical question. What is the right way of indexing 150 keywords? Should I attempt to have all 150 going to www.mysite.com or should I break it down into smaller pages if I can put it that way. Like www.mysite.com/pages/bikiniwax for example. Even if I break it down, what is the right amount of keywords that I should SEO per page? Or do 150 pages? Please helppppppppppppppppppppp.... 🙂 Thanks a lot for your help.

Sub Domain SEO
I am thinking to Add Sub Domains to get better rankings for Local Searches. So I will develop City Specific Sites with Specific Language. For Example qatar.wisnetsol.com. IT will be in Arabic. If my Good standing and Ranking on Google for wisnetsol.com will help my subdomain to rank better? if we setup wisnetsol.com/qatar, how it can target Qatar in Google Webmaster tools? Will links for qatar.wisnetsol.com and wisnetsol.com are seprate? What do you think about this strategy? Is it good or bad?
