Why does google not recognize inbound links from bbb.org?
-
After using site explorer I noticed my companys links for bbb.org are not included. They are for our competitors but not us. Anyone know why?
Thanks,
Cole

Thanks Corey, that's the perfect answer. We don't crawl all the web, which is sometimes why we don't see the really deep links. We're only at 100 people, so don't have quite the server farms that Google or Bing do for crawling.

I think the real issue here is that crawling the entire Internet is hard work, no one does it perfectly. Not SEOmoz, not even Google. OSE crawls independent of Google, so the two won't be related. It's possible that SEOmoz will find it yet. It's more likely that Google has already found it (they definitely have more resources).
You can see if Google does know about the page by searching "site:bbb.org (your company)". It may also appear in Google Webmaster Tools, although like any backlink data provider, I'd take that with a huge grain of salt. I see major links appearing in GWT from 5-10 years back as "new links" all the time. It doesn't take too much analysis to realize that this doesn't 100% jive with the data that Google's organic search results are using.

What's nothing to do with google. It's an open site explorer issue. A simple check of the page source on bbb will determine if google will count it as a link.

Why is Link Count smaller than Internal Links in Crawl Test report?
We recently ran the crawl test report and for most of our pages we are getting 1150 internal links but 40-50 as the link count. Why is there such a big disparity?

Campaign link not working?
I imagine most of the initial problems with the domain migration to moz.com will be cleaned up rather quickly. I did however notice right away my links to my campaigns from the dashboard were not working. I then click the campaigns tab up top and my campaign links worked from there. Just thought I'd share real quick incase anyone else is having the same issue.

Compare link metrics - What time frame is this in?
Hi, I'm comparing three sites and one of them I know is quite popular however a few of the social statistics are puzzling me; they've got a small amount of Facebook likes and times shared on twitter - Which just can't be right if it's all time. What's the time frame of this data? The last three months or? Thanks, Dan

Broken Links and Duplicate Content Errors?
Hello everybody, I’m new to SEOmoz and I have a few quick questions regarding my error reports: In the past, I have used IIS as a tool to uncover broken links and it has revealed a large amount of varying types of "broken links" on our sites. For example, some of them were links on my site that went to external sites that were no longer available, others were missing images in my CSS and JS files. According to my campaign in SEOmoz, however, my site has zero broken links (4XX). Can anyone tell me why the IIS errors don’t show up in my SEOmoz report, and which of these two reports I should really be concerned about (for SEO purposes)? 2. Also in the "errors" section, I have many duplicate page titles and duplicate page content errors. Many of these "duplicate" content reports are actually showing the same page more than once. For example, the report says that "http://www.cylc.org/" has the same content as "http://www.cylc.org/index.cfm" and that, of course, is because they are the same page. What is the best practice for handling these duplicate errors--can anyone recommend an easy fix for this?

In OpenSiteExplorer - how do I find out which in bound links were lost?
http://www.opensiteexplorer.org/www.homefinder.com/a!links The # of inbound root domains is ~3,100 and has remained relatively flat for a while yet we've been acquiring 1000's of new root domains that link to us. That said, we want to get some clarity on why the count has remained flat. It would be helpful if we could see which domains have stopped linking to us from one OSE index to the next. Is it really the case that we're losing links as fast as we're gaining them or is something else going on?
