Should i include this group of text to improve ranking

Hi i am worried about my site www.in2town.co.uk because it it a magazine site i am finding it hard to find space to put text to describe the site for the search engines.
I have put text near the top of the site which is under the logo and then i have put more text under the first set of headline where i have put a twitter sign and text but it does not look that great.
I rank five in google for the word lifestyle magazine and feel i could do much better and i need to rank for other words but because my site is a magazine site, i am struggling.
can anyone offer me advice and let me know if the text looks rubbish please.

Diane- Simple solution. Dont confuse what your customers see with what google will index......Build solid content in the footer that is about us, lifestyle magazine "sections", etc.......
Then make sure the sitemap includes the information in the footer in a logical way...so start off with your major headings and then branch out into the sub headings......
Then make sure your titles and meta tag descriptions re-emphasis that it is a lifestyle magazine.....
here is an example from the new york times(see link below-scroll to the bottom of the page)....you will see the major headings at the top of the page are only 2-3 ......then they have all of their other informative and content rich headings listed at the bottom (12-15+)

Text hidden by Java
We are developing a new website and intent to use Javascript to make the page more manageable on the screen with a show more / show less. For example http://www.tanzaniaodyssey1.com/tanzania/serengeti where a large amount of the content of the page is "hidden". from what i can see although google won't penalise us but am i right in saying that this content will not be indexed and will count for google ???? I need to make sure that this text is indexed but i also don't want to have horrendously long un-user friendly pages, **Does any one have a way round this ? I've now taken a big interest in and also how it affects ranking. When I look at my MOZ dashboard the fundedbyme.com domain has a higher ranking than fundedbyme.com/en/ for example. Our company wants to target other markets such as Spain and Germany, I am imposing penalties on myself by not having rel="canonical" in place and redirecting to the TLD?0 -
UK rankings disappeared after US website launch
Hi all, I had a client that recently released a US version of their UK website and put it live without informing me first! Once I saw it (about 3/4 days later) I immediately asked them to include the rel=alternate tag onto both websites. However, in the meantime our UK rankings have all gone and it seems as if Google has just kicked the UK website. How long will it take for our rankings to return to normal? Could you give me some advice to be ranked first
hi everyone, i need some advice; i'm trying to get first in the organic result for the keyword "poltrona frau brescia" in google italy, i list below the latest action i've been taken on my site ( http://poltronafraubrescia.zenucchi.it 😞 i've just added the site into some directories i've just recived some inbound link from a few sites with the anchor text "poltrona frau brescia" i wrote some press release that links to the site i created a google plus profile i created a google places profile linked to the google plus too actually i don't see the page authority going up but the authority is the same as the domain in wich the site is located. my goal is to rank first, now the first position is owned by a site with no autorithy but with the exact keyword matching in the domain. please gays give me some advice to get concrete results, only just a couple of things to follow... it seems a little bit strage for you but i'm having some troubles with this aim.... thanks a lot, Guido

Sites Copying my Content Ranking Higher
A number of sites are copying - either 100% word for word, paragraphs, or sentences of my content and are ranking higher. Some sites are doing this with permission/properly and are linking back to my article Others are not linking back or giving credit. Some of these sites, in some cases are ranking higher than me in Google results. What can I do?

Anchor Text the best way to use it
Hi i am wanting to gain links to my site and make the links relevant and have seen many sites that do not have the keyword on their site and have been told as well as having the keywords in the image that they will also have anchor text from other sites. Can anyone please tell me the important of anchor text and how i should use it. Is it wise to build anchort text links within your own site and what other sites should you be looking for. I have used a few article sites to gain anchor text links but most of these are no follow which does not help me. any advice would be great

Can Google read text in Javascript?

Hiding text with Javascript and a more button
I am considering putting a block of text on may pages, that initially appears as a snippet with a 'show more' button that expands to show the whole lot. Question: If the search engines can see the whole lot, but the visitor only sees the snippet until they click 'show more' then is this cloaking? Is it a really bad idea? Or can I get away with it because I am not being deceptive just improving the design? Help!
