YouTube & Google + Pages
-
Hello,
Has anyone had luck associating their Google + business page with their YouTube channel?
Our YouTube page is associated with our Google + profile (and we would like it to be associated with the Google + business page.)
There are numerous articles out there that Google is working on an update to allow the Channel/Google+ business page association but I am wondering if there is news we might have missed.
Or if there is a way to get around it?
We want to implement video on some site pages and would rather use YouTube code as opposed to customizing a solution.
Do most folks think Google will have an easy solution once it at arrives? Meaning if you upload videos to your channel that is currently associated with the profile page, do you think there will be a way to convert everything over to a Google + business page once they unveil an update.
Thank you!

Just following up on this one. I've just gone through this process - http://youtubecreator.blogspot.co.uk/2013/04/using-google-page-identity-on-youtube.html for Distilled, and It does work.
It's not perfectly elegant, but will do the job.

Phil,
Thanks for all your responses. I will review both links and really appreciate the assistance/direction.

YouTube is the best place to put content if you're trying to build up your brand awareness with informational and useful (not sales or conversion focused) content.
If you care about rankings and driving traffic with your videos, then YouTube is definitely not the best place to start.
A bit more information for you here

Thank you.
We don't have any videos at all yet and a very small audience on Google +. In our industry, we have one or two competitors using video and we have some ideas to show off our capabilities.
We figured YouTube would be the best place to start.
We want to be able to use the videos added to YT to ultimately embed on a couple of site pages. And potentially capture some organic search traffic.
My concern is posting numerous videos to a YT page that might ultimately be permanently associated with the Google + profile page.
And potentially impacting some natural search results (if we see some.)
-
Sort of,but ultimately, I'd question what the real concern is.
If you have a massive audience base on Google+, just posting your YT videos on there will get them engaged.
I doubt having it all linked up will ultimately provide significant benefit - at least, certainly not to the degree that you need to take any action in the meantime such as duplicating your YouTube videos.

Thanks for the insight, Phil.
At this point, it sounds as if the only option (with You Tube anyway) would be to add video to the You Tube page associated with the Google + profile.
And hope the integration goes smoothly once Google rolls it out.

For want of a more eloquent phrase, I think Google have somewhat "screwed this up" for business owners, in the attempt to make YouTube and Google+ better integrated.
Currently (as far as i am aware), I don't think there's any solution past what I assume you have implemented if you've connected the G+ page to your YouTube Channel as I've done here http://www.youtube.com/distilledseo
One assumes a better integration is in the pipeline for Business G+ and YouTube channels, but it may take a while to get there.

Ha! Glad this is a good one for discussion!
Hopefully there will be a solution soon...

Hi, I purchased an old domain with a lot of links that I'm redirecting to my site. I want all of their links to redirect to the same page on my site so I can approach this two different ways: Entire site

Many Pages Being Combined Into One Long Page
Hi All, In talking with my internal developers, UX, and design team there has been a big push to move from a "tabbed" page structure (where as each tab is it's own page) to combining everything into one long page. It looks great from a user experience standpoint, but I'm concerned that we'll decrease in rankings for the tabbed pages that will be going away, even with a 301 in place. I initially recommending#! or pushstate for each "page section" on the long form content. However there are technical limitations with this in our CMS. The next idea I had was to still leave those pages out there and to link to them in the source code, but this approach may get shot down as well. Has anyone else had to solve for this issue? If so, how did you do it?

Google Dropping Pages After SEO Clean Up
I have been using SEOmoz to clear errors from a site. There
Technical SEO | | Andy56
were over 10,000 errors to start with. Most of these were duplicate content, duplicate titles and too many links on a page. Most of the duplicate errors have now been
cleared. This has been done in two weeks (down to around 3000 errors now). But instead of improving my rankings, pages that were on the second page of Google have started to drop out of the listings altogether. The pages that are dropping out
are not related to the duplicate problems and get A grades when I run SEOmoz
page reports. Can you clean up too much too quickly or is there likely to be another reason for it?0 -
Not ranking on Google
Hi all, I am optimising a site which is a hotel directory for a small island in the Mediterranean - Malta. The site is www.maltahotelsonline.com. I did a keyword research and optimised the page. However I am now at link building stage. Since we do not have many links the site is still not ranking very well for the desired keywords (ranking fine on Bing and Yahoo yet not on Google). As a result there isn't much traffic on the site. 1. Is there any particular issue that you can spot on this site that is not allowing it to rank well on Google? 2. Any suggestions on link-building please?

2 links on home page to each category page ..... is page rank being watered down?
I am working on a site that has a home page containing 2 links to each category page. One of the links is a text link and one link is an image link. I think I'm right in thinking that Google will only pay attention to the anchor text/alt text of the first link that it spiders with the anchor text/alt text of the second being ignored. This is not my question however. My question is about the page rank that is passed to each category page..... Because of the double links on the home page, my reckoning is that PR is being divided up twice as many times as necessary. Am I also right in thinking that if Google ignore the 2nd identical link on a page only one lot of this divided up PR will be passed to each category page rather than 2 lots ..... hence horribly watering down the 'link juice' that is being passed to each category page?? Please help me win this argument with a developer and improve the ranking potential of the category pages on the site 🙂

Diagnostic says too many links on a page and most of the pages are from blog entries. Are tags considered links? How do I decrease links?
I just ran my first diagnostic on my site and the results came back were negative in the area of too many links one a page. There were also quite a few 404 errors. What is the best way to fix these problems? Most of the pages with too many links are from blog posts, are the tags counted as well and is this the reason for too many links?
